At check-in, I was told a room deposit would be collected for one night at 2x the room rate. What was not disclosed is that this deposit/authorization would be held for a full week. Had I been informed of that timeline upfront, I would have made a different decision. For a one-night stay, any damage assessment and release of a deposit should not require seven days.
In addition, when I called to ask about the hold, the customer service I received was completely inappropriate. The employee repeatedly interrupted me, refused to transfer me to a manager, and then placed the phone on the counter where I could hear background noise for over 20 minutes. When I called back from another phone, I was hung up on repeatedly.
