If you're ever in Chicago and craving a quiet, tucked-away spot that still keeps you close to the action, The Sono Chicago might be your kind of place. It's nestled in Old Town, surrounded by tree-lined streets and that peaceful, residential vibe that makes you feel like a local.
Let's talk rooms first. They're simple, clean, and comfortable—nothing over-the-top, but definitely a step up from your average hotel. The beds are cozy, the space is quiet, and everything feels fresh and well-kept. Just a heads-up: there's no elevator, so if you're hauling a big suitcase, you'll get a little workout.
Now, breakfast, available from 8 am to 10 am, is continental, but thoughtfully prepared—think hard-boiled eggs, pastries, fruit, and good coffee. The shared kitchen and lounge area are a highlight, offering a bright, modern space perfect for relaxing or chatting with fellow guests.
One of my favorite spots? The outdoor seating. It's the kind of place where you can sip tea, reflect, and feel like you're miles away from the hustle.
The staff? Lovely. They're attentive without hovering, and genuinely helpful. Whether it's answering questions or ensuring breakfast is stocked, they have that warm, welcoming energy that makes a big difference.
