I enjoyed my stay. However, it started to rain and my window was leaking pretty bad. When the weather is rain the roof leaks. I paid for luxury and got somewhat less. Having said that,The hotel looks nice, it is clean, and the staff is great.

Upon getting to our room, we could hear the room directly next door playing loud music and a few minutes later we started smelling smoke coming through (again same room next door). We notified the front desk in-person at approximately 11.00pm. Coming back to our room we started to hear a loud fight occurring in regards to the hotel’s silent smoke sensors going off and that room having to pay a fine. Then at 2:15am we awoke from loud hand slapping and very loud fight going on to include the people arguing about “lighting up a blunt” again… We finally called security at 3:15am because the loud fight did not cease - then to make things worse, the front desk called my room back a few minutes later so I’m sure the folks in the room next door in the heated fight knew that it was me requesting the noise stop. The front desk manager told me that I could change rooms but I declined since it was almost 4am. A few minutes later a security guard could be heard saying ‘quiet down’ outside in the hallway. Then the fight occurred again a few minutes later with even more loud explicative words, so I called security again and the person this time informed me that we had never spoken to him before and he did not know what was going on. This is unacceptable. Then at 3:50am a group of drunken men were heard singing in the hallway. This hotel is not quiet and the personnel working do not seem to understand how to handle these situations. We will not be staying here again.

The room was listed on Orbitz as "sleeps 3". Upon arrival there was a large sofa, but it was not a pullout. When I asked at reception, they indicated that the room only sleeps two - but they can see if they can find an air mattress. They could not. The person at reception was pleasant and helpful, but there wasn't a place for 3 people to sleep, full stop. Unacceptable. The room also smelled of cigarette smoke.

Solid casino. One thing that differentiates them is the fact that they have free self parking in the parking garage. This is the only casino in Atlantic City that provides it. They do still nickel and dime people though. In your room, they want to charge $4 for a small bottle of water. That is insane. Also in their general restaurant, they add a mandatory tip. That is never a good sign. Also just like every other hotel/casino, they charge a resort fee which is just another nickel and dime thing. As every other place, they'll claim it is for wi-fi (which everyone gets free), in room coffee (which is terrible), free local phone calls (everyone has a cell phone nowadays) and workout facility. Include that in the room price. Don't tack on a resort fee.

Charged me extra $35 for resort fee and I showed them I already pain $28. But I got charged anyway. Hotel Used to be nicer. It’s old outdated noisy all night on the 14th floor. Asked for a shower cap - never came, no toothpaste available and water is $4 for a 12 oz bottle. Shady clientele and self parking garage is under construction - only half open. It smells of urine . Area around hotel had trash everywhere.

We stayed one night. When we got up in the morning, the plexiglass shower door hinges would not allow entry into the shower. We called housekeeping/ maintenance to get someone sent up. No one arrived. We had to get moving, so we left without being able to shower. We told the front desk at check out. She also called hou Housekeeping/maintenance and got no definitive answer. She just said "sorry". And she said we should have checked the shower door when we checked in Sunday night. Who the hell checks a shower door. People assume they work. So no help from anyone and we left without showers.

Overall good hotel for the price. The bathroom looks nice but is not ideal setup. Awkward to tub setup due to shower door placement and bathroom only has one outer that is set up backwards, making it difficult to plug anything in. Only outlets available in the room are located on the light fixtures and each has just 1plug making for a total of 3 things to plug in at a time. Rooftop pool was nice but furniture not very clean. Definitely one of the older properties in the area.

Good hotel to stay when in AC. Needs a little TLC.

On the good side: We enjoyed coming to Golden Nugget because it offers the most for it's value. It's located a little bit farther from the boardwalk but at the same time it offers a quieter ambiance. The entertainment at the Deck is okay. On the down side: Needs a little TLC. The carpets are a little smelly, saturated with carpet fresheners and old dust. There's a sign inside the room indicating smoking is probibited and that they're equipped with sensors to detect smoking from cigarettes, cannabis and vapor - the room still smells like someone smoked in it.
