We stayed for three nights in this quiet and peaceful hotel. The room had an external bathroom - only for the use of the room. Which was no problem for us- we slept very well. The shower in the bathroom is a bit tight with space. The other rooms have more space and an ensuite bathroom. We also enjoyed the breakfast with italian cappuccino served to the room, but.... only after you have made a phonecall. It helps to read the instructions left at the room. Shepard was extremly helpful and attentive. I can highly recommend this little hotel, tucked away on a small road behind Peggy Gugenheim Museum. Will be back for another visit!
For what we needed, Ca' San Vio was perfect! Extremely affordable in a quiet location, away from the tourist hotspots -but within close walking range to local sights, restaurants and Vaporetto docks. We booked the Double Room with External Private Bathroom. The room itself is suitable for up to two people only. Quite small and cozy, with air conditioning and free wifi, which was a huge comfort! If you are looking for space, try one of the other rooms with ensuite. The external bathroom is across the hall, nothing too fancy, but modern and with everything you need. The shower was a tight space, but in Europe, my experience with showers has been pokey, thus far. So, to be expected. Both the bedroom and bathroom was well kept and very clean. Something worth noting, regarding breakfast, is to make sure you call the lobby between 8:00 and 9:30am, if you require it. I made the mistake of waiting for it to arrive on the first morning. Of course, without ordering anything, there'll be no delivery, so be sure to make that call. The manager/venue proprietor, Zancan Shepard was very friendly and helpful, even offering to allow us to leave our baggage after checkout, if still in Venezia. He speaks English very well, which was a huge help! I would highly recommend staying at Ca' San Vio, if you're looking for cheap, clean, and friendly accommodation when staying in Venezia.
Shepherd is very attentive. The room is cozy and really convenient commute to ferry and then everywhere. The place is really nice and importantly safe at night. Shepherd recommended places of interests and instructed us how to take public transportation in the city. Breakfast is served in the room also with choice of coffee, tea, etc. We like the sunshine in the morning coming from the tall windows. Highly recommended.
We booked Via booking.com We must have missed the info that We booked a room with external but private bathroom. Otherwise everything was fine. Breakfast served in room between 8-9:30 (bit late if you have to leave earlier). Nice, clean and tidy room but a bit hot but the room have air condition. All the other rooms have internal bathroom... We were unlucky. The receptionist was very kind and helpful ( recomended restaurant and places to wisit)
The owner and Manager was EXTREMELY RUDE. The worst service I got in my life. Will not recommend ANYBODY to ever visit this hotel. Their English is poor and they claim to be American, however the emails and correspondence is written in such poor English that it is impossible to communicate effectively. This is not a baby/child friendly environment, and the owner were shouting at us until our baby eventually started screaming and of the noise he was making. We never even got our breakfast, as the only way to get is is to call room services. After calling about 10 times no one even bother answering or bring us anything. we just left the place and had breakfast elsewhere.
Me and my husband arrived to our hotel but there was nobody in so we rang the door buzzer and was advised to let ourselves in. There was an envelope on the counter waiting for us with keys to our room. We got to our room it was very clean with a nice bathroom. The wifi was free and very good. In the morning we rang down to reception for breakfast this is when shepherd who owns the hotel comes to our room and introduces himself. He was such a lovely friendly man and he made us feel very welcome. He brought the breakfast to our room which was tea, coffees, pastries and rolls with a choices of jams. The hotel is situated in a good area with a local bar just a street away and plenty of shops. We really enjoyed our stay here it was a shame to leave!
Excellent location, quiet and full of character, away from over crowded tourist areas, which are still within walking distance. Rooms are small but this is more than compensated by reasonable rates and sense of living in a genuinely Venetian setting. Shephard, the owner, is a fount of useful information and enthusiasm, and helped us to make the most of our few days here. The breakfast, served in the room, was an unexpected bonus with a variety of rolls, jams, cheese and pate as well as excellent coffee. .
Stayed for 2 nights in early March. The building is relatively compact but rooms weren't a bad size. The guy working there was extremely friendly and had good advice for things to do. Breakfast is served in the rooms (which we found slightly random but actually quite nice). Very clean, no real issues with it. The only thing that I would say is that it's not overly close to the main centre of things, and there are certainly closer options. But, for the money, I can't really fault it.
Quiet pensione with fabulous private owner who is only present to meet your needs from 8 AM -noon. Rooms are not huge but big enough for two . Room #3 has bathroom across hall but it is private and clean! Breakfast is served in your room on a table built from the wall and is good! It is located near the Peggy Guggenheim museum which is a must. Shephard, the owner, is a great guy!!
This is a cute little B&B in a lovely part of Venice. The area is a bit quieter than others as its slightly away from the main tourist sights - but don't worry, everything is still in easy walking distance. There are some nice restaurants and shops nearby too. The manager is lovely and very helpful. He gave good instructions on how to find the place from the wharf and also recommendations for restaurants, how to get around etc. This place is quite small, But you should expect that in Venice. It's very affordable. The bathroom in room 2 is tiny, but then those things are all part of the fun of travelling and it didn't affect my enjoyment of Venice or the B&B in the least. The breakfast is simple but good and an easy way to get going on a day of sight seeing. I would recommend this place.
