I have spent 2 nights and 3 days in Venice, staying at the San Cassiano Ca'Favretto and I couldn't fault either. I received a room a double room on the first floor, which was extremely spacious - I loved it! It didn't come with the view but the balcony on the first floor next to my room certainty made up for it. The room was as in pictures - Venitian/Italian style, had all amenities which you may need on your stay. The receptionist and the housekeeper were all very helpful with directions/recommendations and any requests which I had. The hotel is in a perfect location, right on the water overlooking Grand Canal as well as being 8 minutes from the Rialto Bridge and about another 10 from the St Marc's Square. The breakfast was also good, the choice ofc is not that big but is definitely enough and couldn't fault it!!!! Overall, LOVE LOVE LOVE!! Hope to be back one day :)
My husband and I were in room 103 for 5 nights. Room was right on the Grand Canal. Listening to the canals activities is very special. The hotel is quaint and have everything you need. Warm towel rail to dry clothes, coffee, tea which is always appreciated for us Aussie's and lots of room. The only thing missing is a cork screw and we had to go to reception to get it opened, as all wine bottles have corks not like Australia which are now all twist tops. The manager on the desk was excellent and the porter even carries your bags up to your room. It is nice and convenient to the vaporetta stop, San stae.
Eight in our party, so we hired a private water taxi to bring us from the airport right up to the hotel on the canal. Breakfast was wonderful in a gorgeous breakfast room. Rooms were spacious, bathrooms clean. Because our family was so large we were spread out on different floors (though 2 rooms were next to each other for the kids). 5 minute walk (lots of stairs of course) to the nearest vaporetto stop. Beautiful hotel! Will definitely be back. Not 5 star, but considering location and history of the property and cleanliness, I rate it excellent.
We stayed in the "family room" that consisted of a queen bed and two twins. I really wanted to love the room, but it was so dark and gloomy and felt dingy. One window facing a shaded street, dark red paint and very poor lighting. The bathroom was also tired, and it's time to update the bedding. Front Desk was not particularly welcoming or friendly. The breakfast was great, though! We also loved the neighborhood....very charming and quieter than the Piazza San Marco's madness.
We have just returned from 5 days staying at this hotel with 2 children As part of a children's cancer charity trip hotel was lovely with lots of character room was very spacious breakfast was good reception staff during the day and evening were very friendly and helpful Night porter was very rude one evening after coming back from a meal out we asked for drinks from the bar and coffee he was reluctant and huffed and puffed as if it was too much trouble on the morning of check out the same porter was behind reception dressed in joggers and t.shirt not very well presented at all again was very abrupt when we asked to pay our bar and room tax bill although early morning his manners were appalling what a shame after such a lovely few days in such a beautiful city
The hotel was easy to find, it's a few minutes walk from the San Stae pier. It's a beautiful restored 14th century building and the decor makes you feel like you're going back in time. The staff were great and the location is fantastic, with an array of great local osterias nearby, the Realto market is a 10 minute walk. Overall I would highly recommend staying here.
Fabulous little hotel right on the Grand Canal. Got a transfer straight from the airport to the hotel's own jetty. Friendly attentative staff and very comfortable rooms with stylish decor. Just five minutes walk to the Rialto Bridge. Would definitely stay here again.
From the moment we arrived at the hotel the service was amazing. All staff were friendly. The hotel is beautiful, it is down a quiet part of Venice which is nice but only a ten minute walk from San Marco and Realto bridge. The view from our hotel room was amazing, looking on to the Grande Canal. The old classic furniture was lovely and very much reminded us of beauty and the beast. Breakfast had a good range and sitting on the balcony over looking the canal is a great way to start your day. Would recommend!!!!
What a lovely hotel, just spend 5 days here and had a really nice time, even though it is close to Rialto Bridge and St Marks Square it is far enough away not to be caught up with the crowds. Sitting on the dock in the evening watching the boats go up and down was magical. Breakfast we found was very good and the best chocolate croissants I have ever tasted. Staff and cleanliness were excellent we had a lovely room overlooking the courtyard, would definitely stay here again.
This is a lovely hotel - real Venetian faded glory. You can really imagine the history of this place. If you want a Hilton or a Radisson type chain with those facilities don't choose this hotel - it had character and that makes it quirky and fun. We arrived by water taxi (99 euros 1 way) - expensive but good when you are arriving in the dark as you are dropped off at the door right on the grand canal! The room we had overlooked a side canal but was spacious and spotless. No lift was not a problem for us but I did see an older lady really struggle to get to the breakfast room which is on the 2nd floor. The bed was a little hard but if you are tired after trekking you will sleep! Well situated - the hotel is only 5 mins to Rialto bridge and a further 10 to St Marks square. We didn't use the bar as we were early to bed after miles of walking. Venice is amazing and I defy you not to be swept up in its charm. Do get a 24 hour ticket on the water bus - well worth 20 euro to orientate yourself around all the sights. We liked this place and it had lots going for it including the views and pleasant reception staff, but the deal breaker for me was the lack of tea and coffee making facilities. We do like a cuppa in the room and this seems to be such disappointing omission. We found Venice charming and amazing and this was a good hotel choice. We would love to return to Venice but sadly I'd look for somewhere with a kettle :) Enjoy!
