Relaxed and enjoyable stay. Very good breakfast. No thanks
This hotel is tucked away in a quiet alley about a 5 minute walk from Rialto Bridge and is easily accessible from the San Stae vaporetto stop. The lobby has a lot of character in its decoration, and the hotel staff was very friendly, providing me with the info I needed to be able to catch the N-line vaporetto for my departure early the next morning. The rooms are in a typical Venetian "rococo" style. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable, although not particularly modern. This was a good place to stay for an affordable price, away from the crowds of the main pedestrian thoroughfares or piazzas. There are some excellent restaurants around the corner. I would stay here again.
Wonderful location and friendly staff! Would stay there again when we return to Venice.
Upon check-in, after a long and grueling flight, we were greeted at the desk and told that we had booked two rooms and would be charged accordingly. Although I don't know how this could have happened, it was made clear to us that even if the room could be rebooked (after all it was the Venice Bienniale) they could make no exceptions. Finally they agreed to charge us only a 500 euro penalty since that was the rule. I would have thought that a hotel of such good standing and supposedly excellent reputation could have made an exception and treated us with more respect. It was not a pleasant experience, since the second booking was obviously a mistake, and started our vacation off on a very sour note.
Stayed at this hotel in April 2017 with family and had a GREAT experience!!! The property is from 14th century Venice and the epoch is reflected in every detail of the hotel property, it is beautiful; there is a sense that you might walk into a masquerade ball any moment. The staff is professional and welcoming, and the location is good, right on the Grand Canal. There is a balcony overlooking the Grand Canal and a bar in the hotel, it is pretty awesome. As an overall rating I was inclined to give it a pleasing vs. excellent, primarily because of the location, the hotel is a little ways from the train station and also from St. Mark's Square, I would say around 30 minute walk to reach either destination. The walk is a good sightseeing opportunity though, as you travel over the side canals/bridges, the outdoor market, and along the grand canal. I was also inclined to rate is as pleasing vs. excellent because I prefer a more modern hotel, with large TV screens etc., however, the theme of 14th style Venice is the signature look and charm of this property and it would seem unfair to hold this preference of mine against them, as it is a beautiful hotel with all expected amenities. Note that there are three floors in the hotel with lots of stairs, and there are no elevators, however hotel staff kindly helped us take our luggage up and down. All in all, my family and I really enjoyed this hotel, it is excellent, and I highly RECOMMEND and would STAY HERE AGAIN.
Hard to locate but worth it. Great breakfast. Nice location.
Thanks to bad internet directions I was lost for three hours in Venice toting my luggage around so I was quite frustrated when I finally arrived but my mood turned in a positive direction once I saw this place. The lobby looked like a fancy high priced hotel and the room I had booked was listed as a "single", so I was quite surprised when I found that my room had one large bed and two twin sized beds. The decor screamed classic Venice and had a great Victorian charm to it. In the morning I awoke to a beautiful view out of my window of the Grand Canal. I headed to the breakfast area where I found the nicest hotel breakfast ever, it was complete with all the basics plus fresh fruit, great coffee and great tasting Italian desserts. The staff was very helpful and the hotel was very clean and had a great ambiance that fit so well in this antique city.
Great place to stay....clean, friendly staff, great breakfast...close to everything..... There's a boat stop (from the airport) just a few minutes from the hotel... i arrived by train and thiught I read the hotel was close by....no....it was only about a 15 minute walk...but over 10 bridges...and if you don't know where you're going.... Also i had a heavy suitcase (hadn't planned on this quick Venice trip) and you need a light suitcase unless you have a strong person with you or want to pay a porter (i paid 20euros)... Enjoyed my stay...bathroom was surprisingly large...fixtures new...everything clean...the hotel is old and charming.....great place!!!
I loved everything about this hotel. The location was great, the price was great, loved being on the canal. The desk people were superb!!
We were greeted at our entry. the staff was very friendly. we had an issue with the TV and it was resolved in less than a minute the breakfast was great.
The Residenza d'Epoca Ca'Favretto is a 400 yr old residence that sits directly on the Grand Canal of Venice. Breakfast was included in this stay and was quite good and catered to both American and European tastes. The rooms were comfortable and pleasantly adorned. Regardless of the number of maps you have, be prepared to get lost in Venice and enjoy that part of the adventure
