It was close to all the important sights!
The hotel is right next to St. Marco Square, a very special special place in history. Even though there were crowds during the night, it was still very quiet. Dining and shopping were very convenient.
The room is just okay. It was actually identical in quality and facilities to the room i stayed in for 1/3 the price the night before. The only difference was that i had a view of the side of St. Mark's Basilica (not the square). In the cheaper room, i had an unobstructed view of the Grand Canal and a dome. Is the side of St. Mark's really worth the price? On top of that, the daily flood (Aqua Alta) made it difficult to drag a suitcase in from the water taxi area. I ended up dragging my bag for 20 minutes over stair bridges and uneven cobblestone unable to reach the hotel without drowning my bag. Not the hotel's fault, but a hassle to consider!
Very central to everything. Right on San Marcos Piazza. Friendly staff
our 4th visit. great location, nice hotel, very solicitous and helpful staff. 50 feet from San Marco and the basilica. have always done well there and that is why we go back to them
Have stayed at this hotel multiple times over the years. The staff are amazing and so accommodating. Everyone speaks great English. The location is superb. Our room overlooked the square. With window shut was perfectly quiet but able to open the window and really experience the hubbub and bells. Just heaven. My only negative is that they are not handicapped accessible. Stairs to get to the lobby. I will go back!
We had a short one day stay after a cruise at this hotel. We only wish we could have stayed longer. It was a great hotel - clean, great ambience, everything you need in the room, friendly staff and a wonderful breakfast buffet. The location was absolutely perfect right off St. Marks square. We've stayed in many Venice hotels before, but this one ranks right up there at the top. We will stay here again.
Very friendly hotel, nice and clean and close to Marco square and shopping area.
Asked for a private taxi to the airport night before and morning of plus porter to get our bags at 9am. No one showed up until I called at 915am and no private taxi showed up until 30 min after the requested time. Unorganized staff be aware.
This hotel boasts a great view of San Marco plaza. It's a decent view from the restaurant, but our room had a wall out the window. You probably have to pay for a view, which we didn't. It was a nearly perfect experience, but keep in mind it's Venice. This is one of several hotels that is not on a canal, which means you have to walk to it. No, walking isn’t a problem, but if you want true magic, you will want to get a hotel where your first water taxi can take you to a dock right at your hotel. Thr room was very cutely decorated, and the bathroom had one of the nicer showers we've found in Europe.
The Hotel Concordia is a great hotel, and a great value. But most of all, the staff was FANTASTIC! They made everything about the stay a pleasure, from checking in to the great recommendations for places to eat. They even took care of a small health issue I had with some speedy calls to a pharmacy. I will DEFINITELY stay there again when I am in Venice. The only small constructive point is that the mattress was a little hard, and uncomfortable. But otherwise, it was a perfect stay at Hotel Concordia.
The Concordia is indeed a special location, right next to San Marco. It was always an island of calm despite the many tourists, right outside the doors. The staff is very welcoming and helpfull, even with restaurant reservations. The roof terrace may or may not be available depending on if the suite next to it is booked.
Great small hotel with friendly staff in a great location in venice. Only steps away from Piazza San Marco, the restaurant actually has views onto the square. The decor is slightly dated but fits Venice very well. Wifi is free
By Venice standards it's a good 4 star however, my room was so close to san marco church that the bell woke me up every hour at night. Breakfast was good.
The hotel was fine. In order to get to the reservation desk you first had to climb about two flights of stairs. If a porter was available he took your luggage. Another problem with hotel was the distance from the vaporetto terminals and the fact that you had to climb and go down two separate sets of stairs between the vaporetto terminals and the hotel. There are no busses nor cars allowed in this or any other part of Venice. Everything is on foot. The other problem with the hotel is that their cable system only has CNN International and BBC World as English language tv stations. The buffet breakfast was ok , but the selection could have larger. For example, Venice is on an island in the Adriatic Sea but there was no seafood. By contrast, landlocked MIlan had four or five varieties of seafood. Best part of hotel was its location. We were able to walk to the train station and other parts of Venice without a problem. Restaurants and gelato vendors are all over the place. The Piazza San Marco is literally at the door step to the hotel and that location is not to be beat.
Due to expos so all other hotel occupied, far from city center. Wifi failed to work in room even said not working in the room so need to go to lobby to use it.
This Hotel runs hot & cold. Plenty of tourist trap to get you to buy into the "push" of the day. Maybe Venice is like this all over?
