Very comfortable. Walking distance to much of central Venice. Staff is helpful. Rooms are decorated in a classical elegant style with plenty of room. We had a room with a view and it was well worth it to see the rhythm of the day from early morning deliveries to the evening sunset and to the night lights and activity. The hotel has a water front terrace that serves cocktails in the late afternoon so an October to November sunset is wonderful.
The hotel is in prime position, so close to everything enabling you to have an easy stay in Venice. Although the hotel is in a great position it is not so close that you would be disturbed at night with any of the crowds and we found it to be quiet and always got a good nights sleep. Local transport (vaporetto) is at the door step, and St Marks square is literally 5 minutes away on foot (if that !) The service was brilliant, and the hotel staff would do anything they could for you. They were very friendly and great for tips and tricks of the local area. The hotel has everything you need, such as breakfast room, bar and restaurant and lifts. Our room charming and very clean, had everything you would need and the views that we had was just spectacular, which just made our stay perfect. Hopefully we will return to Venice, and when we do this will be the first hotel I would consider without a doubt.
Amazing central location - the vaporetto stops were a few yards away and San Marco was close but not TOO close. It was a great base to explore the different districts. We requested a lagoon view and were not disappointed with the gorgeous views of St. Mark's Basin (which we took full advantage of since our weekend stay included a regatta!) The rooftop restaurant was definitely a plus when we arrived on our first day and were just too tired to venture out from the hotel. The room was nicely appointed and very comfortable. The staff was friendly and accommodating. Overall a great place to stay - would definitely book here again!
We were two ladies travelling with friends, a married couple, and we booked two suites for the four of us - our friends had the one overlooking the lagoon and were very comfortable. We had seen the pictures on the website and were looking forward to seeing our suite which overlooked the courtyard. Sadly we were extremely disappointed. One room had a king sized bed but no hanging space at all, the other room was extremely small and contained a wardrobe and a single (sofa) bed. The wardrobe was largely occupied by the cushions etc from the sofa bed, there was no bedside or reading lamp, and both rooms overlooked a 'courtyard' which was so small that effectively we were facing a wall and could not tell what the weather was doing until we got down to breakfast and looked out of the hotel doorway. There was insufficient natural light at any time of the day. The air conditioning did not work. The bathroom was fine and all the rooms were clean. Our friends had booked the accommodation and were told that the hotel was full, so complaining would only have upset them and achieved nothing. The other facilities were fine. The room was undoubtedly overpriced and in no way resembled the photographs on the website. Make sure you understand what you are booking.
One of my favorites in venice. Very central location with friendly staff. Small authentic hotel. I never hesitate to recommend this property. And the roof deck restaurant and bar top it all off. Great place to stay in Venezia!
I loved the location of this hotel! The view from the room was spectacular - the canal and lagoon! I would definitely stay at this hotel again. Beautifully decorated with Murano glass through out. Rooms were large than expected in the city (I was told that because of being on the island rooms in Venice would be very small) - as spacious as an other European hotel. I loved the roof top restaurant that had a view of the city. It is within walking distance of St. Mark's Square and the Doge Palace. The area is busy with tourists however, I felt very safe and had a wonderful experience. Love your hotel and city! Great friendly and helpful staff. Buffet breakfast was included - lots of hot and cold choices to make. I would definitely return to this hotel!
Firstly I have to apologise for taking so long to write this review. We stayed for 5 nights in April as part of our honeymoon trip. The hotel were not aware we were on our honeymoon but we didnt need to as the location and views from the hotel meant our stay in Venice was truely memorable. We stayed in a superior room (205) with fabulous views over the lagoon. We were able to sit and watch the world go by outside. The hotel is located a stone's throw from the San Zaccaria vaporretto stop which is an airport pickup stop. It took over an hour to get to/from the airport but it is the cheapest form of travel and because the hotel is so close to the waterstop it's very straightforward to use. The hotel is located on the waterfront so no side streets have to be navigated to get to it. At the airport their are self-service machines for buying tickets. These are a bit confusing. However walk on through arrivals and there is a manned desk which is more straightforward to get tickets from. The room was a decent size, comfortable and immaculately clean. We didn't use the rooftop bar or restaurant but we enjoyed the breakfast. It was a typical Italian breakfast but they did have scrambled eggs and bacon. The cappucinos were delicious! The hotel located a 5 minute walk from St Marks Square and close to the Doges Palace. We found that Venice is easily accessible on foot and a gondola ride is a must! The only minor complaint we had was the noise from people walking on the ramps at the front of the hotel which had been constructed for the Venice marathon but hopefully these are only temporary. We had a great time in Venice on our honeymoon and we plan to return to the Locanda Vivaldi in the future!
I recently stayed at the Hotel Locanda Vivaldi, If you are going to Venice it is a must stay hotel, The staff is over the top helpful professional and friendly. The room was spacious. It is the ideal location to look out your window to the lagoon, bridges, canals. 10 minute walk to St. Mark's Square, Doges Palace, clock tower. And best feature is the roof top restaurant with view of the city and Bellini"s
We stayed in the 'princess apartment' a short walk from but maintained by the hotel. The rooms were lavishly decorated however there were a few minor hiccups but nothing to take away from our trip. WiFi was non existent although supposedly offered although we did not push for it to be fixed. Really good location near San Marco-Zaccaria and good links to the airport and surrounding islands. Pleasantly surprised to be offered a welcome Bellini/Prosecco on the terrace bar (No longer a surprise for you!)
Very good location. Bad bits no wifi in room (room 106), and small room 10'x12' approx but great views nice decor and very convenient for public transport and getting around. Breakfast good. Would stay again.
