I found the hotel very average. I had a few problems. First, the AC was not up to the task in a warm Italian summer. The room would ultimately get cool, but one had to leave the AC on full blast 24/7 to get a decent temp. Second, we came home one day from swimming at Lido, and we were eager for showers to get the salt off. My son took a shower first. When it was my turn, I came into the bathroom to find the system had backed up filling the bathroom with sewer water that smelled like - sewer water. Not great. In both cases, the desk people tried to help, but were totally useless. For the AC, there was no mechanic on duty until a day or so later. In the case of the sewer water, they had to call the owner before they would even try to clean it up. Hours later, the bathroom was usable, but never again trusted. Lessons learned - we had reservations at a more expensive place, but chose the Ruzzini because of the reviews. In retrospect, we should have spent the extra money, after all, when's the next time we'll be in Venice.
To my husband and to me, several ingredients need to be combined to make a hotel stay perfect. The first is the the gracious greeting as our boat docked at the canal side entrence. The next is the exquisitely decorated rooms. We requested, and got, a lovely, quiet room overlooking the canal. The heavy drapes kept out the sun allowing an extra two hours of sleep in the morning!!! We also appreciated the comfortable chairs, large mirrors and lovely bathroom. Every morning the breakfast buffet offered a delicious and healthy variety of foods to choose from. The ambiance also helped us to greet the day gently. To us, beside all of the aforementioned comforts, we found the location outstanding - on a quiet, lovely Campo which was close to everything but allowed us to take quiet neighborhood walks and feast on local fare at our favorite restaurant. To complete this recipe, the reception staff arranged the airport transfers both coming and going.
This was our first trip to Italy, and I'm so happy we decided to stay in Venice to start our trip. We were greeted warmly by the hotel staff when we arrived and enjoyed a welcome drink while they checked us in. We were upgraded to the suite, which was beautiful, comfortable and very clean. The hotel is also in a quiet location. The staff gave us great recommendations for dinner and arranged a private taxi boat tour of the city at night. I would definitely stay there again.
The room were nice and the staff were very helpful. Get really god tips about restaurants. A big plus: Location were perfect and you could take a boat taxi direct to the hoteldoor. Small breakfast but very french.
Stay in one of Venice's oldest places that catered to the elite. The three owners/judges appear looking down at you as you check in to their palace from the 1500's. Get a water taxi from the rear of the hotel that takes you anywhere you'd like to venture through this incredible city.
Our stay at Ruzzini Palace was very good, the room was comfortable and clean, and very spacious for a city hotel. I did have one gripe with the breakfast, the buffet selection was adequate, but in the table was a small card which is hardly noticeable, Why it simply offered a few extras...extras which simply shouldnt be extras, there is scrambled eggs on the buffet, but if You want fried eggs...pay 8 euros?? If you want a cappuccino in place of filter coffee pay 3.50 euros extra, never seen this before, and was in my opinion ridiculous.
What a lovely hotel. Great position only 5 mins walk to St Marc's square, the Rialto Bridge and the restaurants and shops. We stayed in a suite which gave us a separate bed each for the two children, not so easy to find and so much more comfy than a sofa bed for them. The rooms are very quiet and comfortable and breakfast although a small dining room provides for most tastes. There is also a great small bar with a happy hour till 8pm, buy one get one free with nibbles. I would really recommend the Ruzzini Palace for a family visit to Venice, we stayed 3 nights which was perfect to see the main sites and fit in an amazing 1hr private boat tour booked at the hotel desk. Definitely a must
The Ruzzini Palace is a traditional venetian hotel, nicely decorated with beautiful Murano chandeliers. The rooms are well appointed and quite large for Venice standards; beds were comfortable; large bathroom with a good shower. It is not located in the Grand Canal but it was close enough to everything (Venice is not a large town) and waking distance to all major sites. Breakfast was included in the rate. It was not a lavish breakfast but quite ok. It had a good variety of breads and eggs were cooked to order. Cereal and fruits were also available. I would recommend this hotel and will return.
Ruzzini Palace is a beautiful hotel a short distance from Rialto Bridge and not far from San Marco. We stayed in the attic room which was a beautifully updated classic room. The staff were pleasant and helpful and the breakfast was great. Would definitely recommend this hotel.
This hotel seemed excellent, but few days before our arrival they canceled reservation without any rationale excuses despite of obvious signs of preauthorisation by the hotel visible on my account. So it looks like staff is unprofessional and hotel do not care about clients. Please be aware because they can switch your romantic trip to Venice into horrible experience.
