We had a very pleasant stay at this hotel. It is located on a nice, quiet square and we could easily walk most everywhere we wanted to go. Check in and check out was easy and everyone was very helpful. Breakfast had a good variety of items and we never had an issue with it being too crowded. Our room was adequate, a little dark and could have used some updating but was very clean. It is a bit of a walk from where you get dropped off from the airport when you have luggage and sometimes a little difficult to find at night. Overall a very nice place.
Staying at the Ruzzini was truly a wonderful experience. Our room was spacious and beautifully decorated. All of the staff were very professional and helpful when asked for help navigating Venice. I would highly recommend this hotel.
This was our fourth trip to Venice and each time we have stayed in different hotels ranging from three to five star, depending upon whether our now adult kids were with us at the time which inevitably adds to the expense! I would say that the location of this hotel is very good, with a short walk to the major attractions, but just far enough away to be a little more peaceful. We found the staff to be very friendly and courteous. The building is beautiful and is kept immaculately clean. The down sides for us were the room we chose (our mistake with hindsight) and the lack of space in the breakfast room which also has to double up as the bar in the evenings due to lack of communal areas. There is a beautiful lounge upstairs, but there was never a soul in there whilst we were at the hotel and it didn't appear to be somewhere you could sit with a drink in the evenings as there was at least one bedroom leading off it. It would be nice if there were tables outside to sit at, the square is certainly big enough to allow this, but perhaps there are local restrictions which is a shame. We had room 1 which others have mentioned. It is one of the less expensive rooms and is on the ground floor next to the reception. I didn't find it noisy, but it was a little dark and there was reduced head height in places, not a problem for me at 5' 1" tall, but it might be for others! I would say it was perfectly ok as a place to rest your head, but you wouldn't want to spend much time in there. The same goes for the bar area which is also used as the breakfast room. Space was restricted at peak breakfast times so my advice would be to get up early or have a lie in. We chose to take breakfast out a few times as it was more relaxing. We had a few drinks in the bar in the evening and the drinks were very reasonably priced. We enjoyed chatting to the Sri Lankan barman who was very charming and friendly. I would also recommend allowing at least an hour extra time for check in, security and passport control at Marco Polo airport. It was unbelievably chaotic and we queued from the time we got there at 10.00am until we boarded the aircraft at 12.00pm. We and virtually all of our fellow passengers had to be fast tracked through passport control on the last call for the flight as everything had taken so long! In contrast, we sailed through at the other end in Manchester!
location just that bit away from the busiest parts . We enjoyed walking around back streets at night. Enchanting Lovely to be picked up at back canal entrance for our 1 hour tour in private taxis with bottle of bubbly, worth the price, for which the hotel arrange when you arrive.
My wife and I visit Venice every year. We have found the Ruzzini the excellent choice for us, referring to location, service, hospitality and staff kindness. We have just returned from our fourth stay.
This room did not disappoint. Venice is hard to navigate, so after arriving with a heavy case and fighting the crowds the weclome drink and amazing room made the pain worthwhile. I fell in love with the room so much that after a busy day I could not wait to get into my robe and enjoy a glass of red wine whilst watching the gondolas pass by. This hotel is everything you want from Venice, amazing views, amazing service and amazing location. Only complaint is breakfast area too small for tables and service, that part needs thought, however this is my only minor grumble!!
This hotel was incredible and exceeded my expectations of what I was hoping for from a hotel in Venice. Our room was out of this world with some classic Venetian decorations and also had the most amazing views of the canals. After a long journey to get to Venice I was not disappointed with the hotel and its surroundings. The drink offered at the point of check in was also very much welcomed. The square where the hotel is situated is lovely and also quiet which in Venice is sometimes hard to find. I was sad to only have one night here and would 100% recommend this place to anyone staying in this city. The staff were attentive and eager to help / recommend. A great random find!!!
This is a great hotel. Staff are very attentive and location is close to everything but away from the mess that is St. Mark's Square. Room and bed were comfortable. Breakfast was included, an added bonus.
We had a wonderful time staying in this unique hotel. The location is unbeatable - you can walk to everything. The service was impeccable, and it was so nice to be greeted by friendly, professional staff who immediately took care of our bags, swapping them out for a cold glass of prosecco. The room and bathroom were spacious and clean. The staff were also incredibly helpful in making dinner reservations for us each night, and recommending where to go, what to do and how to get the best deals on things like gondola rides. Would stay here again!
This "estate/Brothel/Judges Chamber/ Hotel (it's been many things having been built in/around 650 AD... is simply superb. The rooms are typical European style with outlets, a TV, A/C, Shower queen-size bed and very accommodating staff... so if you're not happy with the room-type, call ahead and ask or ask to change and if they have room, they'll help. Don't waste your money on a gondola and tour around, have the hotel call you a water taxi and it can pick you up right at the back side of the hotel for about €4. The breakfast buffet in the Ruzzini Palace is fantastic. Great food, breads, bakery items, jellies and jams, eggs, juices, all included in our stay. We were only there 1 night and looking back, I wish we had 3 nights there.
