My friend and I stayed at the hotel for 2 nights at the end of November and we will for sure be staying again when returning in the summer. Hotel in excellent location, only a 5-10 minute walk from St Marks square. In fact we did not need to take water transfer once as was within walking distance from all things central incl Rialto Bridge. Hotel staff were excellent, it was our first time in Venice and receptionist gave us directions and circled on a map everywhere we wanted to go. Our room was upgraded upon arrival at no extra cost & looked exactly like the pictures provided when booking! We stayed out past 1am both nights and had no problems getting back into the hotel as reception was 24 hours. Wifi was excellent & consistent - I was even able to stream a movie on my iPad off this, no extra charge for the wifi either. Looking at the standard & prices of other hotels in Venice, the Nuovo Tesson definitely comes out on top and I look forward to returning here again!
We stayed here for 3 nights. Hotel is very easy to get to and is close to the south shore. Taking the vaporetto it is best to get off at Arsenale and head west or S. Zaccaria and head east. The hotel is located in an alley to the right of a restraunt called Al Gabbiano and is on the right side. This hotel was great for our stay in Venice. Staff knew multuple languages and were helpful when needing directions. Breakfast is served daily and is decent. Setup as all you can eat but with limited items. Fresh fruit, yogurt, meats, breads, etc. They mainly serve cold items. Orange juice, milk and espresso is offered. Everything is self-serve. This place does 24hr front desk. They kind of have to because it is more the old school key system. Turn in key when leaving. Some people believe that it is not as secure as "electronic" keys, but let's face it, if someone wants in, they're getting in. Rooms are a good size. We had a king bed and couch in ours. Not much of a view and very small TV. Not a concern since you're in Venice to explore and not stay in. Bathroom had large stand in show, toilet, and bidet. Toilet was a bit tall us being 5'7. Legs almost dangled. Unfortunately there is NO elevator at this hotel. We were on top floor and was no issue for us, but this could pose a problem for elderly or people need elevators. Hotel is about a 5min walk to St Mark's and is close to great restraunts and small grocery stores. We would probably stay here when we come back.
We arrived early at 10.30 am soaked to the skin to be greeted by a big smile and warm welcome. We were expecting to put our bags in left luggage as we were so early but we told we could go straight to our room ..... and we were upgraded. The room was lovely. All the staff were friendly and nothing was too much trouble. A good choice for continental breakfast. The hotel was in a brilliant position easy walk to everything I highly recommend this hotel.
Just what we thought we were getting when we booked. My husband and I wanted a reasonably priced hotel in a convenient location to the sights with good service and clean and comfortable rooms. In my opinion, we couldn't have a chosen a more appropriate place. While I have stayed at more luxurious accommodations, I wasn't looking for that this time. The staff was more than helpful and extremely friendly. The room was small as was the bathroom but well done, clean and perfectly acceptable. The hotel is easily reachable from the train station by a few different water bus lines as well. And it's a short walk to St. Marks Square. I can definitely recommend this hotel.
Stayed two nights at Nuovo Tesson before embarking on a cruise. First and foremost, the location of the hotel is excellent, a short walk to San Marco, and an even shorter walk to the Arsenale vaporetto stop. A multitude of restaurants near the hotel (not just the touristy places near San Marco, but smaller trattoria on nearby side streets), and an easy walk to much of the city. The hotel staff were quite friendly and helpful, and English was no problem. Our room was small (to be expected in Europe), with a tiny bathroom and even tinier shower. Beware of a lack of hot water for showering in the morning, probably due to several rooms showering at the same time, but still not acceptable; lukewarm at best the morning we left. The included breakfast is simple but good (rolls, cereal, yogurt, cold cuts, etc.). Overall a pleasant stay, and would have rated it 4/5 but for the hot water issue.
Returned home today the 23rd September having spent a weeks holiday visiting the sights of this most interesting city,Hotel Nuovo Tyson was not an hotel we were aware of and we went on a review and also availability as we had very little time to find an hotel for last minute holiday. The hotel more than lived up to the review a few negative reviews were more than outwayed confirmed by our stay.Breakfasts excellent,Staff extremly helpfull.Cleanliness and overall facilities of hotel, bedroom, shower room, towels and linen excellent.Yes the shower rooms are small, but not to be complained off, unless you are huge, I am personally 6ft tall and managed sufficiently. The location of the hotel to the boat taxi which you would have taken from the airport could not be any closer. Also interesting sights such as the Doges Palace.Marco Polo Square,The Bridge of Sigh etc etc.all very close. You will not be disapointed. I stayed at the hotel for 3 nights, and the rating is an aggregate of 2 for the economy double room in the annex building, and 4 for the single room in the main building. Was told that the newly refurbished room I had booked had some piping issues the first night, and was given a room at the top floor in the annex building. Good thing that the reception helped to carry my luggage up 4 flight of narrow stairs. The room literally had no space once you set open the luggage, was extremely compact. Didn't help that the shower screen doesn't adequately prevent water from seeping into the room. Couldn't be worse that there were huge large brown bugs crawling out from beneath the parquet flooring where there was a crack. You'll have a small private balcony to yourself, if that helps, but you can't get out without climbing onto the bed, that's how small the room is. They knew about the situation the next day and offered to give me the original single room in the main building. reception helped to move my luggage as well. No issues with the single room, facilities looked modern, and space was adequate for one person. Breakfast is included, and although it starts at a stated time, I was always able to have breakfast earlier at 7+. Spread was good and includes bread, cereal, yogurt, etc and also lemon torte. Reception is not always approachable depending on who you get, but Marco was very helpful and friendly. Best thing about this hotel is probably it's location. Very convenient to get to by waterbus from the airport as it is a 2 min walk from arsenale stop. Located near the water, it was always easy to find your way back to the hotel. Also, there's a bar that opens till late right at the hotel, so you would always feel safe even going back late at night.
My Mother and I stayed at this hotel for two nights. Location is perfect. Walking distance to everything. Also right by the canal. Staff are brilliant. So helpful and polite. They worked hard. We were provided with a map of mainland Venice. Came in very handy. Breakfast was included in our rate. Food was tasty. Consisted of cereals, yogharts, toast, croissants, pastries, coffee (which was nice), cakes and fruit. Rooms were nice. Beds were comfortable. Wifi is free. We enjoyed our time here.
we stayed in the annex next door. Small shower, otherwise quite nice. Good breakfast. friendly and knowledgeable staff. Easy to find since the street connects with the main waterfront that connects to San Marco square. This is important in Venice where no street is more than a block long.
The hotel is located in a quieter area of Venice (Castello) which is nice since sometimes it's good to be away from the crowds, yet it's a 10-15 minute walk to Saint Mark's. The staff were very friendly both the day staff and the night staff- happy to answer questions. The room was clean, newly remodeled bathroom, A/C worked great by Italian standards and I think our room was the coldest place in Venice. The breakfast was very nice as well. Fresh fruit, fresh baked goods, etc. I've stayed in hotels in Venice maybe 5 or 6 times before, and although this isn't the luxury 5 star, this was a great hotel for the price compared to much of what you can end up in in Venice.
