My first time to Venice and what a beautiful hotel right on a canal. It's quiet, and comfortable. The staff was wonderful. There's a small bar for coffee or a cocktail and a lounge area to sit and relax. I felt like I was in a much more expensive hotel. I would come back over and over. It is a bit of a hike if you don't take a water taxi right to the hotel but you'll save about 100 euros if you take the water bus and drag your bags for about 10 minutes up and down some stairs and across St. Marks square.
Had a wonderful stay. Staff very friendly and helpful. Had an early morning flight and had to be at dock at 4am for water taxi to airport, they set up wake up call and had a breakfast ready to go for us. Would definitely stay there again!!
Fun stay and lovely rooms. The hosts were very sweet and overall very knowledgable about the ammenties
The Colombina is in a fantastic location just a short 2 minute walk from St Mark's Square. The room was a little tight but very comfortable and we looked out directly onto the canal. The staff was nice and attentive and the breakfast was very good. Also the staff helped us arrange a water taxi from the airport directly to their front door.
Everyone and everything was as nice as expected or better. Room looked just like the pictures and was very comfortable. The bathroom was American sized. Breakfast buffet had variety, plenty of fresh fruit out of season, and strong coffee with steamed milk delivered to the table. Leaving directly from the front door/boat dock for an early flight was perfect. Perhaps I got an amazing deal, but the annex building wasn't an more expensive than an average hotel anywhere - not the Venice sticker shock that I expected.
We were led to a small room, where my husband could barely stand up, up a staircase to what was probably a refurbished linen closet. One concierge was particularly unhelpful. Every piece of advice he gave was wrong., blatantly wrong. I did not feel like a welcome guest. While the location was perfect, and the breakfasts were good, I would not stay again, nor recommend it.
Enjoyed this hotel very much - was close to the square and the staff was very friendly (especially the bellman).
excellent location.. canal view room was just as ordered
The hotel location is great; short walk to St. Marco square and the pier, The Venetian style breakfast room is very lovely. We got a very decent price and it was well worth it. I would absolutely stay here again.
The location is great, close to San Marco Square. The staff was polite, helpful and attentive AND the free breakfast (which was not advertised at the time of my booking) was a nice continental spread. My only complaint was the bedding, the mattress was hard as cardboard and the pillows were the same. The staff provided extra pillows on our request, but more of the same stock. However, after speaking with three other travelers in the airport (we were all bumped from our flight), they had the same experience with their hotels. I would go back to this hotel, but bring my own pillow.
good, inviting hotel.close to all the shopping .ambience was magnificent
It was great to stay at the center of Venezia. The room is nice and cozy. Everything are located within walking distance.
We enjoyed the stay over there very much. The location is perfect for sightseeing, especially Basilica di San Marco, its Campanile and Palazzo Ducale. You can use San Zaccaria or San Marco to access from airport by ship transport. The hotel staff are very friendly but they do not forget politeness. Room is relatively small but the average size of Venice in this price range. Cosyness and cleanness of the room will make you relax. The breakfast is no-distictive continental but good for early morning start. I strongly recommend this hotel for the ones who wants to stroll around Venice as short-term tourists.
A little difficult to find, but that is bout true for most hotels in Venice. Once you unpack, you are only 2 blocks away from St. Mark's Square and many other attractions. Excellent breakfast (included in your hotel fee). Friendly and helpful staff. Most of them speak several languages, including English. You can also have a water taxi take you from the hotel door to the rail station or marco Polo airport (100 Euros to the airport, but worth it if you travel with small children, old people or in a group).
