We wanted a central hotel but in a quiet location and got exactly that! Just off a very bustling street full of great restaurants and at least one fab bar this hotel is quiet partly because it's 3 floors up. So if you can't do stairs this place will not be for you. We had a family room with large ensuite bathroom. It had good wi-fi, was spotlessly clean, a TV, tea and coffee facilities and plenty of space in our room. The owner was very friendly and helpful, we were able to safely drop our bags off early and collect them later on day of departure. Breakfast was excellent with a good choice and warm croissants. All in all a lovely stay.
This small but perfectly formed hotel was in a great area, near to the sights, but far enough away not to be busy. There were some lovely restaurants nearby and they were reasonably priced in comparison to many others. The hotel was spotless and comfortable and the breakfast was great. We had 'Casanova' room on the upper level and it was charming with exposed beams and lots of light. My only word of warning would be that this is not a hotel for anyone with mobility problems as there are several flights of stairs to climb to get to the rooms. Look at an earlier review for advice regarding how to find it - it's easy when you know how!
We recently stayed here in the triple room which had a view of the canal. Large room with en suite bathroom which was extremely clean and well maintained. Hotel is centrally located near to both San Marco Square and Rialto Bridge. Communication before the stay was excellent and good directions were given. All the staff were very friendly, helpful and accommodating. Breakfast was wonderful with plenty of choice including freshly made croissants. Cannot fault it and would definitely stay here again.
A very pleasant experience, lovely friendly staff, clean room and decent breakfast - for a very moderate price I really could not have wished for much more. The hotel is quite close to St. Mark's Square, maybe 5-7 mins walk. Will definitely stay there again.
hotel is great, service is excellent, breakfast is very satisfying. Rooms are clean. We stayed in one of the roof floor rooms where the ceiling of the room was wooden, that's why I guess we saw some wood insect however the general cleanliness of the room is very good. I do not recommend shared bathroom rooms, It's better you choose a room with private bathroom. decoration of the hotel is antique furnitures and very charmant. you should experience the hotel and relax very comfortably before your next tiring day in venice.
We are a senior American couple who have rented many apartments across Italy and Europe. This apartment was clean and spacious. All appliances and plumbing worked well. The canal views were spectacular ... a delightful Venice experience. The central location allowed us to walk everywhere without taking any vaporetti. Shops were nearby, well-stocked, and good value. Fabio arrived promptly and was a gracious host. And we got a very good off-season price. Highly recommended.
This hotel was delightful when we finally found it. Cosy, clean and the staff were welcoming. The non descript entrance is tucked away in a small side alley and it is a total surprise when you enter this establishment. The cold breakfast was accompanied by fresh crisp croissants and delicious hot coffee. Within a minutes walk from Ca Formosa you can find restaurants and shops galore. I do urge first time visitors to Venice to hire a porter to take your luggage to the hotel. My husband and I wondered around Venice, in the rain, dragging our heavy suitcases behind us for about 2 hours looking for this hotel!
We stayed here for 3 nights and found it clean and comfortable, the breakfast was very tasty and filling. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. There are lots of stairs to climb so if this is an issue for you don't stay here but it didn't bother us.
You pay for what you get this room cost us £150 for two nights Four minutes from St Marks square and in the hub of Venice The room was clean with coffee making facilities, free safe and wifi The buffet breakfast was excellent and the staff are friendly and polite If you struggle with stairs be mindful you have to walk up four flights of stairs to your room Our room overlooked the canal and early evenings we were blessed with an endless parade of gondolas below Hard to find even with google maps We stayed at the Carlton last time and to be honest this place had a nice atmosphere if a lot smaller I would use again
We chose this hotel based on location and price... It's nicely decorated and in a nice part of town with plenty of hustle and bustle but enough quiet to get some sleep a night. Location - Great location, 10 minutes to Rialto, 10 minutes to San Marco, 10 minutes walking from Ospedale from the Alilaguna boat from the airport. However it's not on the main Ruga Giuffa, rather down a small side street. It's quiet, with shops nearby, and all together good location. Facilities - Beware there are a lot of stairs! There is a lift but we were told it was a service lift and we couldn't use it normally, which really, was fine by us. We'd also forgotten we'd booked a shared bathroom which we were a bit surprised about but we didn't see anyone else up there so it was OK for us. Food - The breakfast was nice, but it was too much for me, meats and cheese and pastries and yoghurts and then croissants brought to the table, and big jugs of coffee and hot chocolate, there were at least three cups per jug! The second morning we didn't get our breakfast because we were leaving early and the lady who did the breakfasts didn't arrive until later on. I was a bit sad that they couldn't offer us an alternative to take with us. Staff - We didn't really speak much to the staff, they were absent for most of the time we were there. We checked in and the lady was lovely, recommending us somewhere to eat nearby. Room - The room was on the top floor, and nicely decorated, but it didn't feel clean. The floor felt very dusty underfoot, and there was no mosquito net at the window so we left the windows closed - but - housekeeping opened them so when we came back in the evening there were some mosquitoes in there and we got bitten a few times during the night! I certainly wouldn't go back to this hotel, it was good for a day or two but not more.
