We loved the hotel--our room was luxurious with wonderful housekeeping service, classic Venetian décor and a gorgeous view of the canal. The staff--especially the lovely lady at breakfast--was delightful--with the sole exception of Gianni. He was unfriendly, brusque, unsmiling, and frankly, arrogant. Given that the warm and delightful service we experienced from all the other staff was consistent, it is unfortunate that his demeanor left us with a bad feeling. Although I would unreservedly go back to the hotel because of all its attributes, I think that management should consider explaining the concept of warm and courteous service to this gentleman.
Our entire trip to Venice was unbelievable and made all the more special by our 6-night stay at this hotel. Our family of 5 (including my parents, myself, my husband our 16 year-old daughter) took a water taxi directly to the hotel from the airport. Upon our arrival, we were brought to our ultra luxurious rooms to settle in. We absolutely loved all the space we had and the beautiful (almost over-the-top) decor which included multiple Murano glass chandeliers. Our daughter had her own comfortable and somewhat private area behind a half wall in our room. She says the hotel was "lit" - FYI, this is a good thing! She loved the real bed (not a cot) that they had set up for her. My parents' room was equally if not more stunning. It was quite an experience to be able to open our windows and see the canal below. Our breakfast was included in the price and was very good- quite a nice variety, something for everyone. The hotel is very well located - a 5 minute walk to the Rialto bridge and 8 minute walk to Piazza San Marco. The only problem with the actual room was the heating system. We were not able to control it ourselves and the room was very hot on the first day. We called down to reception and they turned it down for us- problem solved. My parents had issues with the heat in their room as well so they slept with the windows open. As for the staff in the hotel, they were very friendly and professional- they were quite helpful with restaurant reservations. (By the way, if you want a good and relatively inexpensive meal, go to "De Mamo's" restaurant which is steps away from the hotel). My parents' only complaint is that, for the price, a concierge should have been available to make boat tour reservations or other types of reservations but we did have the use of a computer with a printer to be able to that ourselves. All in all, this is a great hotel. Highly recommended.
Amazing hotel, the location is perfect !easy access and walking to local attractions and shopping. The staff is top notch sand extremely accommodating and helpful. Beautiful place and the restaurants is wonderful! Highly recommend So Reali!!
We had an amazing stay at the Ai Reali - the hotel itself is fabulous, with amazing staff that can’t do enough, beautiful rooms and great facilities. The surrounding location is great too, as the hotel is right next to Rialto Bridge. I recommend just getting lost in the streets around the hotel, as we did for hours and found really quaint and quiet streets, churches, cafes and restaurants. I definitely recommend visiting this hotel, such a great experience!!! I can’t wait to go back!
Stayed last year with my girlfriend and WOW!!! This hotel is a true lesson on how hotels should be run!!! Immaculate throughout and impeccable service. World class through out. If I return to Venice I would definitely stay here again.
Checked in here yesterday, so mid-stay. Well, we arrived at the hotel to check in having booked the annex apartment but were told that the WiFi was down at the apartment (a few minutes’ walk towards San Marco) therefore they could offer us a suite in the hotel. We weighed up the advantage of the extra bedroom in the apartment against just how gorgeous the suite/room was added to the appeal of being based in the hotel and its amenities, and went for the hotel. The staff who looked after us (three different gentlemen, I caught one name, Nicola very graciously showed us the room and was wonderfully chatty and pleasant - I didn’t catch the other names, but the main chap was also very charming, will try to catch his name and edit in if I can) were very friendly, very courteous and accommodating. The room is beautiful - gold striped fabric walls, warm wood finish on doors and furniture, lovely art on the walls, of the period - a 17thC palazzo - marble bathroom with heated underfloor, air con etc. As we have one of each teen, they happily added an extra single bed to the sitting room, so the kids could sleep separately and comfortably rather than together on a sofa bed (quite a plush sofa bed at that). We also have a lovely canal view directly over the water taxi stop and a view to the little Ponte de la Fava which connects the hotel to the rest of Venice and its bars and restaurants. We feel very lucky to have been granted this gorgeous suite in the heart of Venice. Bellissimo!
We stayed 2 nights for our first visit to Venice. The Alilaguna orange line boat from the airport stops at Rialto which is a very short walk to the hotel or splash the cash and a private water taxi will take you directly to the "front door". Check in was efficient and the bell hop showed us to our room. The room was perhaps a little small and short of storage places but it was comfortable and quiet. Well appointed bathroom. The only negative was that there was no tea/coffee facilities. Cosy bar and a library to relax in. Excellent breakfast buffet. We did not eat dinner in the hotel so cannot comment on the restaurant. ( Try Da Mamo just over the bridge toward Rialto - excellent. You need to book!) Similarly did not use the spa though perhaps the hotel should rethink charging guest to enter. The hotel staff were all both efficient and charming and helped to make our stay memorable. We hope to return.
Our first trip to Venice coincided with my 50th birthday, what a luxurious and beautiful place to stay, celebrate, relax and have a wonderful time. We arrived by private water taxi which was perfect and we were greeted by staff of the hotel and checked in seamlessly. A bottle of processco was on ice in our Junior Suite which overlooked a lovely canal. Our room was spacious, beautifully appointed and the bathroom was stunning - black marble, separate bath, shower and twin sinks. We had a seating area and loads of space. The breakfasts and evening meal were perfect. We enjoyed the tasting menu on my birthday and huge thanks to the staff for the lovely birthday cake. The spa was relaxing and a complete hideaway, even though the hotel's location is centrally located. It feels like you are from it all. Everything was a complete joyful experience, we have such wonderful memories and will one day return to this stunning hotel in this most beautiful and unique of cities. Thank you xo
We returned last night from 3 nights in beautiful Venice staying at the Ai Reali hotel. A perfect location - quiet and calming yet only minutes from Rialto and St Marks square and the canals and beauty of Venice itself. We had a lovely italien style room - deep red flocked wallpaper and polished wood floor and separate bathroom and toilet facilities in the room. Clean and well cared for. Breakfast was good - a nice spread and plenty to choose from whilst sitting in the restaurant watching the goldolas pass by the window. We have only one plea - there is a kettle in the room but no mugs, tea or coffee - we asked for mugs and coffee to be told they didn't do that any more - wouldn't have been an issue but as we had the kettle in the room, was a little frustrating! Other than that, we have had a lovely stay at the Ai Reali and would recommend it to friends and family for sure.
We were in Venice to celebrate our 25th wedding Anniversary. I wanted to try Hotel Ali Riali which looked like a quaint hotel on web, and booked directly against my travel consultant ‘s advice who suggested Bauer Hotel. I sent a mail to the hotel to make sure that we are given a good room , to which they assured that our wedding anniversary is going to be memorable. And they did make it!!!! The room was like a match box hardly fitting our bags, decorated is deep red horrible wall paper with no windows and a toilet jutting into the room. Looked as if they converted some store into a room. When I told them that we cannot sleep there and felt claustrophobic, they shifted us to another slightly big room. But everything was horrible, no drinking water, no tea or coffee in rooms, no room service. Trust me, I have never stayed in a worst place. I never enjoyed Venice because of this hotel. I would love to explore Venice again and appreciate its charm staying in a better place like Ca Sagrido or Bauer. My advice is stay away from this hotel. Breakfast is served in a small dingy room, it is absolutely tasteless, staff least caring and the hotel just a two class! ( though they claim it to be four star) Our 25th Anniversary was a fiasco, thanks to Ai Riali. I complained to them by mail and they were asking me to give them one more chance. But how? Silver anniversary comes only once! It is spoilt by them!
