This was the worst hotel we have ever stayed in ...booked through Travel Counsellors...it did not come cheap either. Although it was clean and the staff were ok the hotel left much to be desired. The room was so small we had to leave a suitcase outside. There was no lift and very steep stairs to the rooms and no one to help carry the luggage. There was no outside space or bar....tiny wardrobe with 4 hangars....skirting boards broken/missing. ....grubby shower curtain....couldn't turn round in ensuite.. The exterior of the hotel was grubby as was the view from the room.
The hotel is in a perfect location, the hotel itself was very dated, though clean. No en suite bathroom in any rooms although when I made the booking it said we would have one. Other than that it was a good place to stay.
We went on Cruise from Venice (via Jetline). There was a one night stay in Venice included in the package. From the airport we travelled by water taxi with two other couples on same package. The other couples where taken direct to fantastic looking hotels. We had to walk from Pier to find the Bridge Hotel. It's small and basic. I would have slept well if it wasn't for people walking in alleyway beneath our room. It went on untill 2am. At morning we went down for breakfast but all six tables were taken. We were told availability was done by telephone to our room. Had to return to await the call - which wasn't long. Breakfast was OK.
We spent two lovely days in Venice staying at this little hotel near the Rialto bridge and St Marks square. Luckily we were on the second floor in a small but comfortable clean room with a decent small but modern bathroom. The third floor involves a hike up lots of stairs and no lift. And some of the rooms have a shared bathroom. Our bedroom had two windows overlooking the busy narrow street and could certainly be a bit noisy at times especially early morning. But somehow this didn't matter at all , and after all we were in the middle of beautiful Venice amongst the ancient streets. The Bridge was quirky and apparently was an old monastery in the olden days . The owners were friendly and helpful and served a basic but adequate continental breakfast in the mornings. We're really glad we stayed here and would have no hesitation in recommending it to others.
A great location in Venice, near to bars, restaurants and stores; but the best is that is just a few meters from San Marks square. The hotel is very clean and has the city spirit in its decoration and details.
Nice people. Breakfast as expected. Located on a good spot in Venice to have a walk in the evening and enjoy the atmosphere. Overall nothing to complain about this hotel. Good value for the money overall.
Having read some of the reviews on this site I did wonder what we would find. I need not have worried, what we found was a delightfully quirky hotel. It isn't a faceless corporate hotel but it's clean and safe. The hotel used to be a convent in the dim and distant past which has cleverly been converted to a hotel. We had room 3 which is a double at the front of the hotel the constraints of the building meant that the room was quite snug. However, it was clean and secure with a mini bar whose prices were lower than many of the local restaurants/ shops. The people manning reception were unfailingly helpful and very friendly. Breakfast was continental with a good selection of products and freshly brewed coffee. The hotels website offers a good set of directions to help you find them because as other people have said Venice can be confusing but using the information they provided we found them quite easily. Would not hesitate to return to this hotel should I return to Venice. Thank you.
My husband and I went away for a romantic weekend without the children and ended up staying in a worse hotel room than we live at home. We where given a twin room which was a joke as it had 2 very small single beds back to back not enough room to swing a cat in . We where very disappointed and asked to be moved but they said they where fully booked, when we booked we looked at the rooms online and know where was there a photo of this room , I have stayed in better hostels with my children's gym trips. We asked to be compensated but they said there was nothing wrong with the room well that's a lie.all I can say is do not stay at this hotel.
Venice is the 3rd stop on our trip in Italy. Generally speaking, 3 star in Italy isn't great. But this is well below the norm. The rooms are tiny. My wife and I with our baggage could barely fit. There is one plug point for cellphones, laptops, tablets, hair dryers. TOWELS ARE CHANGED ONCE EVERY 3 DAYS AND IT SEEMS BEDDING IS NOT CHANGED DAILY. THERE IS NO AIR-CONDITIONING. You need to use the central heating. If you are hot then open a window. The shower is the smallest i have ever seen. I am terribly disappointed with this hotel.
The Bridge hotel is a very old building and therefore quirky. On first impressions ,it is clean with good decor.. The staff are friendly, for Italians! The breakfast is basic , but acceptable. Our room was number 12. The hotel is laid out over two floors, first and third, with the second being private accommodation. This means that to reach room 12, it is necessary to climb a steep continuous staircase of 33 steps from the first floor..The room itself is ok and has an on-suite bathroom, unlike some first floor rooms that share a bathroom. The shower had us in hysterics, as the doors only open about 30cm. and was all but impossible for a larger type person to enter without a bit of lubrication! Unfortunately there was little attempt at fire safely. We had a fire extinguisher, but no smoke detector or evacuation plan. If there was a serious fire, you would die, no question as there is no fire escape .In short, room 12 is a dangerous.
