kitchin, living room, bedroom, and bathroom are all nice and clean. hotel staff are kind.

Hotel staff had great recommendations for sites, activites and restaurants. Highly recommend biking in Stanley Park, visiting Granville Island and the Vancouver overlook. The Anthropology Museum on the University of BC campus is excellent.

Great location, spacious, friendly staff! I would definitely stay here again.

Settled in a fully-stocked one bedroom apartment, I slept like a log. There's no pretense here, just a nice place for single travelers, families, and everyone else. Good internet at no extra charge. Excellent value.

One of the best budget hotel I've experienced. Excellent value. Parking is tricky but that's nitpicking.

This was a honeymoon / birthday get away for me and my wife. Staff was very helpful and friendly -- 1st time visiting Vancouver and they provided us with a lot of ideas and recommendations. Room did not have an amazing view, however, the room was spacious and very comfortable let in a lot of light. Location is in a residential area, but just one block off of a main through way with a few fun clubs (gay friendly neighborhood!) and restaurants. Loved just walking around the neighborhood.

I was there for business. I had a spacious suite with a full kitchen. It was a very pleasant retreat at the end of the day.

If you want more than a simple hotel room Sunset Inn is a great choice. Our room was a small apartment completely equipped and combined with the friendly service and good location it felt more like a home away from home. I highly recommend this hotel.

This was a fabulous find! Staff were great, room was amazing! Close to down town and they let us park our car there for the day while we explored and shopped. Will definitely stay here again!

Hotel location was close to everything. Staff was fantastic

This is a gem of a hotel in Vancouver. Greeted at check-in by a very kind attendant named Brad, all of the others were great as well. I had a standard suite which had a balcony that looked out south, nice. The suite was perfect for me, having a work space separate from the bedroom is something I wish I could always afford, only here is that possible! The main draws for me was the suite-style and the free, secure parking (I didn't think it was so tight as others say- I was expecting something really difficult to maneuver around but I had no problem at all), and the free breakfast. The breakfast isn't much to write about, but does the job. The only minor gripes I have are that the bathroom sink drained way too slowly (I should have brought it to their attention but simply never remembered to, a little drain-o would do the trick) and that I was kept awake by thumping music from a loud dance-club which plays until 3AM, even on Sunday. I was tempted to not write this review in an attempt to keep it a secret, but they have such a good establishment that I believe they deserve all the business they can get. I will stay there on my next trip to Vancouver.

Spacious suite ,very helpful staff , quaint neigborhood with lots of dining choices.within walking distance, easy access to pick and drop tour bus.

Our suite was spacious and very clean and comfortable!! The staff was very helpful. I would definitely stay here again!!

Parking for hotel very difficult to get to. Absolutely no parking in front of hotel; only street parking that was full for blocks and hotel parking only available after checking in & then very difficult to find a spot. Front desk not knowledgeable about area & restaurants we were in. Wish we would not have added Vancouver to out itinery.

This was a very good bargain and a great location. The hotel is a bit tired but the room was very spacious and very comfortable sleeping. We also enjoyed the terrace which looked out on a quiet street. Parking was also very convent. We were able to easily walk down to the beach and water taxi to Granville Island. My only suggestion is that they do a better job of explaining the breakfast routine...which is the need to bring down your own tray and plates to take food back to your room. Very confusing and congested! But would recommend this hotel.

Sunset Inn was in a great location and the staff was the most pleasant and helpful I have ever encountered. Plenty of space in the suites.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. They had good restaurant suggestions, arranged a taxi, and had answers to any of our questions. Some of the nicest staff we've ever encountered in 30 years of travel. Our room was lovely and very clean. We stayed only one night but we would definitely stay here again.

The front desk staff at this hotel are extremely accommodating and friendly. They allowed us to store our luggage prior to check-in, gave us excellent and reliable advice for how to go about exploring the city, and granted our request to extend our stay by a few hours. On Sunday morning, the woman at the front desk was kind enough to fix a huge tray of breakfast for us even though the continental breakfast technically had already ended. The suite was extremely clean and spacious, located in a quiet and scenic neighborhood only a few blocks from many of the local hot-spots. I will definitely stay here again next time I'm in Vancouver!

This hotel was perfect! I picked it because the pictures showed a hotel that was charming instead of cooking cutter like the chains. The staff was amazing! They apparently all live really locally and had great recommendations on restaurants and things to do. They also got to know us over the course of the few days we were there. The hotel room was clean and good-sized. We loved having the full kitchen. They also serve a continental breakfast which was included in the price and they had gluten-free options (which I was so happy to see). Finally, they did have a little gym. There is no pool, but that's not what we were looking for there. We really enjoyed our time there.
