Room was clean and perfect for a night. Despite being on east Hastings, relatively a safe area.

The lady at the front desk was cold and unfriendly. I booked the stay for the relatively low cost and great location, but the low cost went out the window at check in when we found out that parking would cost us $42 and the dog would cost us $70+ (there’s almost nowhere grassy that doesn’t require you and your dog to cross a very busy street, so the dog is as likely to go in your room as out somewhere on the sidewalk). At one point I requested two extra towels and the lady at the front desk seemed put out. She gave them to me and asked for my room number. Why is my room number important when asking for a spare towel? Was I charged?! What else… Amenities are scant. The renovations are annoying. Ice machine was tucked away down a maze of hallways way up on the 4th floor. Breakfast was inedible. Location was great. Yay!

It was not easy to find parking right away (had to ohone the reception to figure it out). The thermostat in the room didn’t seem to hold the increased temperature.

There were signs of construction, but otherwise all was quite good in the hotel. We were late for breakfast, and the buffet was almost closed, and the staff were incredibly lovely to us.

Front end staff didnt listen to our questions very well, and it was incredibly hard to hear them in their super quiet lobby when they did talk. Had to ask them to repeat themselves and be clearer with their instructions numerous times. Photos on the booking post made it look super up to date and maintained for its age, as well as spacious; but in reality it was fairly rough in maintenance/upkeep, and was really quite small. Bathroom didnt have a fan, and the shower curtain was pretty iffy.. showerhead was super cheap as well as the couch was quite uncomfortable. For how much you pay per night, we didnt quite find it worth it. Thankfully, overall it was pretty clean, and in general looked pretty nice with its vibe. Complimentry breakfast was pretty terrible. We had to stick to toast and cereal as the sausage had an awful aftertaste, hashbrowns were tough, and the scrambled eggs were pretty tastless and runny. Thankfully the building is far enough away from the super rough part of hastings, but the surrounding blocks still has an amount of dirtiness and unsafe vibes, as well as people doing drugs. We definitely wouldnt stay here if we had our child with us.

Room was not spotless. Surfaces in the bedroom area were dusted but needed to be wiped with a damp cloth . There were places where there were obvious glass or cup circles. Staff were professional and friendly.

Two things about the room, maybe three. 1. There are no towel bars in the bathroom. It would be good to have a place to hang bath towels. 2. The toilet dispenser is in a very awkward position as it relates to the toilet. Bonus feedback: The room window looked at at a white brick wall. I felt like I was in jail. I laughed about it, but if I ever stay there again, I would ask for a room that doesn't face the brick wall. End
