As much as I travel, I make it a point to try and not write bad reviews, but I must advise guest about this hotels front desk clerk, Michelle, what happened. (that's what she said her name was). I have never experienced such rude and unprofessional behavior at a hotel by a front desk clerk. What hotel front desk clerk uses profanity at a prospective guest on the phone? All I needed was my confirmation number and to change my arrival date. After giving me the run around by saying she COULD NOT give it to me since I booked online. I informed her that I booked online using the Comfort Inn website. She finally gave me the confirmation number. Then again, she said she could not change the date and her manager would have to do it and to call back at 11pm at night. I have never heard of such a thing. I travel 3 weeks out of the month every other month, and have had to change dates many times and have NEVER encountered such behaviour or problem changing arrival dates. After i told her i have never heard of this and she can change my arrival date, she started cussing. What? And that's who you, Comfort Inn Belle Vernon, have answering your phone, greeting guests, representing your name and property? Sorry to say, but Michelle, really does need to lose her job if this is how she handle a task of this nature . She completed the application to be hired to work with the public. If she does not have the personality or character traits to deal with the public, she sould seek employment elsewhere. I canceled my reservation.
We reserved our room through priceline at the last minute and mostly for the price. The staff was friendly and the common area was clean. We thought our room was standard for the price we paid. We did get a good night's sleep because the bed was comfortable and the halls were quiet. There was a free breakfast in the morning which we also found adequate.
We stayed last night. We had checked in early, did not go into our room and arrived back at 10pm. The hotel was recommended by a family member, has a 4 star, and is close to my daughter. The only reason the review is not a 2 star is because of the staff, overall cleanliness of the hotel and our room. First, our keys did not work, a little irritating but. Walked in the room and the cigarette smell was overwhelming, when I drew the curtains the shear was ripped and in shreds, holes in the walls and then a wake up call at 4am. Reminded me of the non chain hotels of years past. Excellent lobby and crap rooms.
Very friendly and the breakfast was delicious, everything hot and fresh on a very cold, rainy morning. Staff went beyond to make us feel at home, even offering us cold bottled water. Found ourselves staying there because our granddaughter was graduating from college
I booked this Comfort Inn for an overnight stay on a long highway drive. From the beginning, the desk attendant (Elly) was very friendly but could not overcome the mistakes of others. First room - not made up. Second room - key wouldn't work. Third room - Occupied! Unfortunately, we frightened some poor guy by opening his hotel room door at 1:00 AM. Fourth room - heat did not work. On the positive side, the room was large and clean. The breakfast attendant (Marcy) was very friendly. Unfortunately, right after breakfast, my room key wouldn't work necessitating yet another trip back to the front desk. I usually hesitate to write negative comments, but this stay was very disappointing.
We got the king bed room which turned out to be gigantic. There is no elevator so you lug 'em up the stairs. The TV turned both ways but there was only one easy chair. The TV remote did not match the TV itself but we got TV working. There were plugs near the bed including a USB plug to charge phones. The refrig was fine but it doesn't have any freezer compartment so my freezer packs eventually melted. The room was real clean, the breakfast was good with waffles and scrambled eggs. Even though it was close to the road, motel was not noisy. Plenty of people(we didn't have time) enjoyed the pool. Would use this motel again next year.
This is a very nice hotel, but a little difficult to access. The only complaint was that the room seemed very small. The room and bathroom both were very clean. The complimentary breakfast was more than adequate; lots of choices. The desk clerk who checked us in was very nice and helpful in answering our questions. Would stay here again if travelling this way.
Hotel conveniently located right off I-76, a little east of what seems to be Belle Vernon proper. Easy to find, though it’s a bit hard to get into the lot without having to do a u-turn past it. Check in was fast and friendly. Lobby is a little tight, but was ok. Rooms themselves had updated furniture and such, but the whole hotel in general looks like it’s been well used. As a whole, everything seemed in good order, but there were definitely minor cosmetic issues here and there. Nothing that personally turned me off, but it does look like a hotel that’s been around a long time, but has been cared for. Mine only two complaints about the room were the complete overuse of some sort of deodorizer. It was tremendously overwhelming to smell. Honestly, I think I would have preferred whatever they were trying to cover, be it must or whatever. Other complaint was that the lighting in the bathroom wasn’t great. The only light was right over the sink, so my shower was a bit on the gloomy side. Each room had a fridge, coffee service, and I believe a microwave. Also an iron and hair dryer. Plenty of storage space should you need it, but the single queen room isn’t huge. Not a lot of extra floor space. Breakfast was mediocre. Slightly better than a standard continental, but I found the eggs to be cold and a little too wet for comfort, and the sausage patties and bacon were swimming in grease. Ended up abandoning that and sticking the breads and yogurt. Coffee was only ok, but plenty of it. I would probably stay here again in the future if the price point was good.
Comfort Inn Belle Vernon is conveniently located on PA Route 51. We stayed two nights while visiting the nearby Mon Valley. Check in was fast, efficient, and the desk clerk was courteous and helpful. Our room was clean and well made. The bed was comfortable enough and the bathroom was in good order. Our room faced Route 51 and traffic noise was evident, but tolerable. If, you're a light sleeper I would recommend a room on the backside of the hotel away from the highway. Complimentary breakfast is typical of Choice Hotels and is always satisfying.
We spent two nights there while touring the Frank Lloyd Wright houses in the area. Everything was clean and in good working order. Our room had one queen bed. The room and bath were adequate size for our purposes as we did not intend to spend any extra time in there. The free breakfast was good and the type of eggs changed on our second morning showing some variety. Staff was pleasant and helpful. There is a workout room with equipment and a business center with computers available. All in all it was very good for what we were charged.
