This is an older hotel, 4 floors, on a small island with a lighthouse and marina, on the Columbia river. It is completely delightful! Handy for walking and biking along the river. Nice breakfast, and a top floor small restaurant with a bar and reasonable food. The view of the nearest bridge is gorgeous, especially at night. Riverside pool and hot tub, too. Stay here, you'll like it.
Unfortunately the night of our stay the pool was rented out for a local birthday party, despite the hotel was at full capacity. I checked with the front desk at 5:30 pm to see what time they would be leaving so there would be room to swim and they said 8:00 pm, maybe 900. Checked back after dinner at 8:30 pm and it looked even busier. If relaxing by a pool is important to you don't stay here. Also if your stay is on a Sunday the hotels restaurant is closed. Not a relaxing time.
Needed a place to stay for the last night of our road trip and selected the Clover Island Inn for its location on the river. Everything was satisfactory. Nice sized rooms, comfortable beds and pillows, soft towels. The entire property could do with a "sprucing up" but it otherwise did the job.
Breakfast wasn't very good and the hotel needs many updates.
The smell was all through the hotel. It should have closed it was that bad.
We stayed on the first floor, which was fine. The location is beautiful--right on the river--and the cable bridge out the window is gorgeous at night! The top floor where food is served is very dated and smells, but breakfast was still good. We also had drinks in the bar there. The room was fine, clean and comfortable, but the walls are thin. We are lucky our neighbors were fairly quiet, and we tried to be the same. They served biscuits and gravy every morning, as well as hard boiled eggs and the usual cereal, toast, etc. There were two waffle makers and fresh fruit. Everything was very good.
Older hotel that needs to be updated, but clean and friendly staff. My kids loved the pool area which overlooks the river. The pool was super crowded and no one enforced any of the rules about food, alcohol, or smoking, but was fun. I think there were several larger parties this particular weekend that planted down and stayed all day at the pool. We still enjoyed it, but definitely had to make an effort to find one chair for the 4 of us. We were disappointed the weekend breakfast wasn't offered until 7 as we had to be out by 6:30 both days to make our events. Had I known before I probably would have picked another hotel with an earlier breakfast offering. The location was great for views and walkability to a few nice restaurants near the yacht club.
While in WA visiting our daughter and her fiance we stayed here. We found the place to be very nice and comfortable. We loved the location and the overall atmosphere was very nice. The breakfast they offered was really good and we liked that they changed it up everyday, much better than your cheesy continental breakfast you'd get in more expensive hotel. I could never understand why you'd pay more at an expensive hotel and get a cheap continental breakfast there lol no thanks! We would definitely stay here again while visiting the area. The only thing I would change is maybe put a king bed as an option instead of a queen.
Great. They are all clean and nice rooms. The only thing that is not cool is having the restaurant above the rooms and it's loud till after 11pm. :(
At check-in the woman staffing the desk was way more interested in obtaining our ID and credit card number than in welcoming us. I wasn't really sure she wanted to check us in. Some tile-work had been attempted on the bathroom baseboard but without much success. While the TV was said to be new, a 37" set really isn't very large. The bar was understaffed and the wait-person seemed harried, so we ate next door at a much fancier restaurant. On-line photos of the interiors seem to have been taken quite some time ago. The building's whole outside needs to be pressure-washed, and the wood trim that looks like an unfinished fence needs to be removed, along with the bird nests. A new roof is a great idea, but overall there's nothing that 2 million bucks won't put right here. We look forward to inspecting in a year or so.
Very clean and comfortable rooms that had a warm decor and feeling to them--the design didn't feel dated, old, or worn out.
we enjoyed our stay at Clover Island Inn. Good breakfast in the morning. Friendly and helpful staff. Close to town but away from the bustle. We were going to events at the fair grounds and it was within 10 minutes commute. I would stay there again.
I enjoyed it but i think romos necedad to be up dated
Nice relaxing location in a peaceful atmosphere. Friendly hotel staff.
We stayed at Clover Island just to get some family time and we had a great experience. The staff was very nice and the view was great
Everything was great there. Nice staff. Breakfast needs improvement. We had dinner at the restaurant and it was delicious!
It is very close to mom and dad and very comfortable. We will try it again.
A quiet nights sleep,,...............................................,.................................
The hotel for my convention was full so I looked for a local, non-chain place to stay. This place was great. Right on the water with water fowl to watch and great views. Breakfast was above average and free.
