Beautiful setting.. we upgraded to a room with a tub. It was GREAT!

Felt more like staying at a cabin than a resort and basic things like the ice machine and atm machine were out of order. Our room had a private hot tub filled with mineral water that was especially great after hiking the area.

That was our first time. Upon arrival, we checked in to the hotel, no information is provided unless you ask questions. For example, hours operation for pools, restaurants, no information was given about purchasing tickets for bath tub room. What is the latest time to take a guest in for bath. Their restaurant located off property, is only open for breakfast and lunch. For dinner you need to drive into town, or bring your own food, but there is no microwave so you cant warm it up. Everything in town closes at 9pm, Including pools at the hotel, so you need to plan it out. ATM machine was out of order. Drink fridge in the reception area had few water bottles and few pops, half empty. If you forget swim wear, the closest is walmart in Hood River. In the room there was pretty much no cell reception. We were hoping for bon fire in the evening, but noone turned it on. We had a group of people sitting around waiting, but no, that never happened. Pools had lights off all evening, until my husband found a light switch and turned it on. This resort can do so much! Upon guest arrival, ask if this is their first stay, if it is, have a 8.5 x 11 print out newsletter or something where it gives more information about the area, hours of operation, walking trails, restaurants etc. We are not talking about 5 star resort here, we are talking about relaxing get away for guests, so help guests feel that way from the moment they arrive.

The pool was mineral springs.

Despite the name, the hot springs is not included with the room. There is a giant hot tub and cold tub available for use for 30 minutes, but the spa is extra $$$$. I inquired upon check-in about the pool use & we were told that we could just "use it". Well, we went in & were followed into the building & immediately accosted by a very rude lady who chastised us for not wearing the bathrobes nor having the proper towels (which were not in the room) and tried to kick us out of the pool until we produced proof of our room. She followed us FROM THE ROOMS!! Then she yelled at us for not wearing masks as we were stepping into the shower, while she herself, was not wearing one. The room itself was nice, beds super soft, small fridge & tv with some channels. There were signs that children under 18 were not welcome in the office or the pool, so i wouldnt take kids to this property. No restaurant on site.

Great spot. Hot tub in the room (balcony), and what a wonderful setting! Check-In was not perfect and so is the customer next to us. Lucky they were not busy... Would do it again.

The three staff members working on site seemed to be crack heads and couldn’t find my reservation, then had to put all my info in manually. At check out they again could not find my reservation and took a long time to figure it out. The hotel was pretty run down and definitely not worth the $250 price tag for one night. There was an abandoned car in the parking lot with the hood popped, and weird shady characters coming and going through the night, yet there appeared to be only two rooms rented of the 100 or so rooms available. I definitely do not recommend this hotel, which is really a shame because it is such a beautiful location and the private hot tub in the room was lovely. I give Carson hot springs 1/2 a star overall.

We checked in at 5pm, and the hotels systems did not have our reservation from orbitz. It took an hour of calling orbitz and communicating with the hotel staff to get it resolved. Nice hotel tho!!
