EconoLodge Downtown Toronto

The hotel price is good for the service. Helpful and friendly staffs, and clean rooms.. Not far from the center. 5 min by walking to the Dundas square.

Nice, clean, simple. I was pleasantly surprised by this comfortable, well-valued stay within walking distance of all that downtown has to offer. Rooms are spacious and well-maintained, the beds are comfortable, and everything was freshly cleaned. Keep in mind that this is a 2-star hotel so don't expect a lot of amenities but they do offer a few little extras. They provide shampoo, lotion, AND conditioner (rare in lower star rated hotels), as well as in-room coffee, a mini fridge, and free wifi. They also offer a basic continental breakfast made up of bread products and spreads. It would be nice to see a few more breakfast options (fruit, boiled eggs, yogurt) but what's there is enough to get you going.

Affordable central location . More of a motel feel and impersonal staff

We had reservation for non-smoking room. We received the room that was clearly smoked in. Management refused to change the room, claiming they have no other rooms. They also kept telling us that the room is non-smoking. But it had multiple cigarette burns on the carpet and on the curtains. Even pillows reeked of smoke. The room was facing busy street, but the window did not close - leaving the room exposed to street dust and noise. The neighborhood - you have seedy looking people approaching you as soon as you step out of the door.

because the location just step away from downton, the room price is impressive. The room is litle bit small, but for get shower and bed, was enought. like it.

Small room, but clean. you got a very poor breakfast, but you got something for free, it is a good thing, you can eat some,at the early morning, and go back to your room to wake up. Hotel price is so good, location is just perfect for this price. 10min walk from yonge street, and metro station. I would recommend.

I stayed here two nights. The hotel is so-so. Rooms are clean but old. Staff was helpful and attentive. It three stories, with no elevator - if you have a lot of luggage carrying it up and down narrow stairways is a chore. While the hotel is close to the Yonge Street downtown area near the hotel is not pleasant. Many homeless people. The Harvey's restaurant across the street is called "Hooker Harvey's" by the locals. I travel all over the world and felt very unsafe in this area compared to some developing countries I have stayed in. A great value considering the location, but the security factors, for me, outweigh that.

Very convenient. Close to bus location and main downtown attractions.

mostly OK .. slightly off from downtown. Internet did not work for 2 days. Continental breakfast could have more variety.

The staff was very friendly, outgoing, and helpful. My room was comfortable and clean. I will definitely stay here again.

Everything was clean, there was new towels and soap every day when we got back, but you could easily hear all the traffic outside

do not stay here. we arrived to a freezing cold room. am thankful they allowed us to get a refund but only for the 2nd and 3rd night. completely unacceptable conditions. room was dirty with candy wrappers and snacks everywhere. it was so noisy we could not sleep. we would have been better off sleeping in a car.

I went to Toronto to be a tourist in mid Sept because my brother came to Canada for the first time. I showed him the basic places that a typical tourist would go, such as CN Tower, Eaton Centre, China Town, etc. I can't say I'm frugal. Let's just say I'm economically conscious. The cab fare from Greyhound terminal to this hotel is about $7 or so (can't remember). Basically the hotel is very close to Eaton Centre and all the cool stuff in Toronto downtown. The room is clean. The bathroom is clean and well-equipped. The breakfast is reasonably continental. The only thing that is not so great is the noise from the traffic. My room was on the second floor facing the intersection of Jarvis and Gerrard. I remember hearing some loud cars or buses passing by our windows, but it was not noisy all the time. I had a good night of sleep (or maybe I was just tired?)

My experience was good would go back again. Only problem was a bread toaster at breakfast area needs to be replaced.

For a low price, you cannot get anything better

Gross room, tiny, dirty, noisy, view of the garbage cans, insane cleaning staff, dark, old. Good water pressure. Location was walking distance from where I needed to go, but only barely.

This hotel has bedbugs!! Need I say more? Beware... I was bitten badly by bedbugs at this hotel, and smashed one on the bed that had just sucked my blood.. I was disgusted. I checked out immediately and made a complaint to the staff at the desk (since the manager was not there at around 5am in the morning when I checked out). I expected to get a call back later in the day from the management at least apologizing for what happened to me and the trauma, but even two days later, nothing. They just made the rest of my trip unpleasant for me.... When I finally called the hotel two days later and spoke to the manager, I was being told nonsense... there was no empathy, no sincere apology. Bottomline - "If you want to get bitten by bedbugs, you know where to go?"

The trip started out well enough. We went to the hotel to check in and I was greeted by a staff person that didn't acknowledge me when I was standing right in front of her at the desk. After getting her attention and letting her know that I wanted to check in she continued fumbling around. I put that aside, went to my room and went out for the night with the other individual that was staying with me. The next morning I went down to get breakfast and the milk was warm as was the orange juice, terrible breakfast for the price of the room. Finally, upon checkout, the staff member argued with me, didn't offer a receipt and insisted that there would be no further charges. Upon checking my balance of my checking account I had noticed that the hotel charged me an additional $90 for no apparent reason and overdrafted my account in the process. This hotel singlehandedly ruined my trip to Toronto. Thanks!

We were in two different rooms for the stay, one was very noisy due to the room upstair and one was decently quiet. Overall, both rooms were nice and clean but small.

Great Location in heart of the city. Very friendly staff gave me information about things to do and places to visit. Clean rooms. A basic breakfast was good for a quick bite to eat. Would have liked to see some Japanese Green Tea :) Overall a pleasant trip. Thank you Toronto.
