My room was at 8th floor and from 8th floor itself it shows really great view. In evening whole city light up with different color. Its an amazing experience to drink hot coffee in window while its raining and you are sitting on top of the city. Wherever you go in Japan the rooms are smaller. Shibuya Excel Tokyu comparatively have bigger rooms.
This was a good quality 4* hotel. Very clean, helpful English speaking staff. I booked a corner view room and we had a very good view of Shibuya Crossing day & night. This was great fun to watch. There is only one room per floor and they can't be booked online. As such you can't get the discounts you can on the others. If you join the loyalty programme there is a 5% discount. Japanese breakfast was good but challenging. The Western buffet ok though McDs near by is probably better. Being on top of Shibuya station makes for a great location. Lots of places to eat around. There are also washing machines & driers (1 of each) on floors 8,9 & 10
I stayed here on a last minute business trip. Though last minute, I had everything I needed. Hotel provided all necessary toiletries. Single person room was spacious and comfortable, though the view wasn't amazing - which wasn't a problem since the location is great for walking and going out sight-seeing. Room had a television, coffee, desk. Breakfast is GREAT and with an amazing view! From the top floor, you have a great view of the city.
Had a room with the view of shibuya crossing. Beautiful city view! The room was very clean and the service was great! The location and the view are the best part about this hotel! Walking distance to all the restaurants and shopping area.
The hotel is in the center of Shibuya, only two minutes away from subway and JR station. Staff is very friendly, rooms are comfortable and large for Tokyo standards. Restaurants, shopping malls and sightseeing hot spots are close by or easy to access via trains. For breakfast a Starbucks and French bakery is within 2 minutes walking distance.
I stay for 2 nights during my holiday in Tokyo. Eventhough the room a bit small, but it is very clean and tidy. The best location if you wanna go eveywhere in Shibuya. It is at the shibuya Mark city level 5. But you need you need to use elevator to reach the hotel. If you want to use shibuya station, you just need to go downstairs. It also very close to hachiko statue. And if you lucky you can get shibuya crossing road from window view. This hotel also a ggod place if you need to access Haneda airport. The shuttle bus will pick you up in certain hours and pay directly to the driver. But for narita airport, you can buy the ticket at the hotel counter. The room wilk be clean up once a day.very standard. Please remind yourself that this hotel not giving you service for greeting etc.I didn't see any bellboy to bring up my suitecase. So self service. Overall I'm quite satisfied.
Stayed here for 3 nights. Our room on the 7th flr was just enough for a queen bed, 2 chairs and 1 small table. It's quite tight. The bed is comfortable, but the pillows are smaller than the regular size pillows. and they are hard. The bathroom is also small, but clean. they have coffee in the room, but if you are a coffee drinker, don't even try. TV channels are all in Japanese, except for CNN & BBC. There is wi-fi but some hours its really slow. Hotel Front lobby staff are not really friendly. It seems that they are always looking down and doing something. Hotel lobby is too noisy and sometimes crowded Hotel is no smoking hotel. but they provided a space on the 6th floor for smokers. The only great part of this hotel is the LOCATION.
I regularly write reviews and very very rarely bother writing bad reviews, however, this hotel was so awful that i couldnt but warn people of how grim it is! To start there is no one to greet you when arriving at the hotel, so no one to help with luggage or guide you in the right direction. On arriving at the reception and lugging 2 large cases and a medium size travel bag, none of the 8 available members of staff offered any assistance! I understand this is a busy hotel, but at this particular moment, none of the 8 staff at reception were occupied assisting a guest, there help would have been appreciated. The man checking me in could not speak adequate english to be workin on the reception, i was in no mood to continue to try to help him to understand so requested someone who could speak better english, but he appeared to be more interested in honing his english skills and so refused. finally, i got to my room... the most disgusting, dirty, dusty, smelly room i have ever seen. i travel for a living so have seen alot of hotels, this was disgusting. the bathroom was also absolutely appauling - just felt like the fascilities on a public train. overall this was the most awful hotel experience and myself and my colleague were so excited to get out of the hotel and move onto our next location, such a shame as we were so looking forward to our visit, it was a little spoiled.
Stayed in March for business. Small, typical Japanese hotel. Clean, friendly staff, with women's floor. I wasn't aware of the women's floor during my stay but will try it for my next trip. Centrally located, elevator on room floor was directly above Shibuya crossing. Many big shopping malls around the area (Shibuya 109 is directly behind the hotel). Tried breakfast, both western buffet style and Japanese traditional style. They were pretty good. The view on the Japanese style breakfast restaurant is much better. Hotel offers airport bus at a fraction of cab fare especially if you're flying in and out from NRT. All in all, will return for my next trip for work.
Stayed in a standard double room this time, though compared to my previous stay in a high-floor quad, amenities here were not exactly on par. Some observations this time. The not-so-great: - Room came with a thermal pot/ kettle instead of capsule coffee machine - thin pillows, not exactly comfy to sleep on - No USB ports. Though ample power sockets were present, USB ports would be preferred as they are universal and less of a hassle for charging devices. Hope the hotel will make small updates to the room to keep up with the times. - Noticed a permanent stain in the carpet throughout my 7-night stay, wonder if attempts were made by hotel to clean or shampoo the carpet on regular basis. The still-great: - Room size of the standard room was still generous by japanese standards, came with a small sitting area and a separate writing desk. Huge window and great view too! - Reception staff is still professional, courteous and efficient. No problems with communication. - Location is still great and super convenient, time and effort saved in commuting and getting daily necessities. Other great thing is the airport limousine bus stops by the hotel, no need to trod around lugging heavy luggage. - Cheap food readily available, take-away bentos in Tokyu basement Food Hall, ramen eateries lining up the alleys right at its door-step, Genki-sushi and Ippuddo just a stone's throw away. On the whole, there are just too many plus points to make this my choice of stay time and again.
