Across the road from Shibuya station, if you want to stay in Shibuya this is a quiet and luxurious hotel and the staff are lovely. Bed was very comfortable, very clean, really nice decor. We walked everywhere, and had the best ramen I've ever tasted in a nearby restaurant.

Excel hotel in Shibuya was an excellent location to the subway/train station and a lot of other tourist spots. Would definitely recommend!!! Staff was very polite and helpful. So much shopping and eating to be done near by.

Perfectly locating right at the centre of Shibuya. Take the lift and straight you are in the centre of Shibuya, full of shops and restaurants, you will never be bored at all! Room is a bit small, but its Tokyo, space is precious. Hotel service was good. Hotel has Airport bus pick you up and drop you off directly from Narita Airport. This was super convenient, especially Narita airport is far from the city.

This is a four-star hotel located in a five-star location. The limousine bus took us directly from Narita airport to the entrance of the hotel. (That was great so that we did not have to drag our suitcases through the train station or on the streets after a long international flight). The check-in process was quick. The staff was very polite and helpful. We initially reserved two three-bed rooms on 7th-12th floors and got upgraded to higher floors at the check-in. Our rooms were on two separate floors (23rd and 24th) because there are only one three-bed rooms per floor. The room is clean and has basic amenities, except for lotion. The room is good-sized, besides the three beds and a sitting area we had enough room to walk around. I never feel tight. The beds and pillows are comfortable. The hotel is not new or upscale but it is clean and nicely decorated. There was one large complimentary water bottle every day (that is nice). My daughter and I ate at the café by the lobby on our first night (so exhausted to go out). We had an egg sandwich and a cheese pizza. The food was ok and a bit expensive. We did not try other restaurants in the hotel. For breakfast, we had Ichiran ramen every day – just less than 10-minute walk from the hotel. Quick snacks and drinks during the day, we went to a 7-11 store next to the hotel. For dinner, we went to food basement floor of Tokyu department store across the street from the hotel. There are lots of places to eat and shop close by. The view from one of the elevators looking down Shibuya crossing was amazing, especially at night. The lobby is located on the 5th floor of the building. The walkway access to Shibuya station is on the 3rd floor. The first floor is at the street level. It took me a bit time to learn the directions from the hotel lobby. Next to a train station, it is a very convenient for our day trips. We also used the train from Shibuya to Shinagawa (only four stations away) to catch our bullet train to Kyoto. The self-laundry rooms are located 7th-10th floors which we used our room cards to access to these floors. They are stacked washer-dryers in the same rooms with vending machines by the elevators. There are only one or two stacked washer-dryers on each floor. The machines accepted 100 yen coins. I found the dryers were not hot enough to dry a full washing load – had to divide the load into two. There is a designated smoking area in the hotel. The hotel provided luggage transfer service which we used to send our luggage to Kyoto one day in advance before we arrived there. This hotel provides everything I need – good stay in an excellent location for transportation and eateries. I will definitely stay at this hotel again if I will be in Tokyo.

The awesome location at Shibuya Station, literally at Shibuya Crossing (you can see it from the hotel elevator), makes this the perfect stay for those who want to explore Shibuya and Tokyo overall. The room was standard, but well designed and comfortable. Looks like a go-to destination if I ever get to Shibuya again. Just one quaint observation - the room didn't seem to have an off switch for all the lights (we tried all switches we could find), lights went out only if you removed the card from the slot by the door... which also turned off air conditioning. There was a portable air-con unit in the room likely precisely for this occasion, but it was still very hot on an August morning. We later observed a similar situation at other Japanese city hotels.

Happy with our decision to stay here for 4-days while we explored Tokyo. Rooms are small, but that's Tokyo and we managed to squeeze two adults and a toddler in (plus luggage and a cot and a pram). Hired a cot through the hotel which was great - they're hard to find/hire here as most kids sleep with their parents until they're 6yo. Hotel was a great location above Shibuya station and overlooking the scramble crossing, quite, clean and hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. There's no gym or pool facilities, but you really don't need them in a city that has so much to experience on offer. Buffet breakfast was average standard buffet, but there really isn't anywhere to get a western breakfast in Tokyo, unless you go to Bill's (which we did instead). Head across the road to Tokyo and the basement floor food hall for all your takeaway food and snack needs.

Great place to stay in Tokyo. Right in the middle of everything- great place to base yourself. Had read about small rooms in Tokyo hotels but ours was spacious enough for a family of 3. Check in and check out was quick and efficient. Recommend.

I go to Tokyo for work every year and this has becomes my new favorite hotel for business. Its located in the heart of Shibuya, basically over the Shibuya station, with tons of restaurants underneath. The hotel rooms are specious, clean with good bathrooms. The reason why i love this hotel is the fact that it is in the heart of Shibuya, my favorite part of Tokyo. You have everything from shrines, old architecture, to tons of cool Japanese restaurants in walking distance. Also on the top floor you have an amazing breakfast resturant with one of the best views in Tokyo! Just see the pictures attached

The location of the hotel is very good but we took a long walk and hassle to go there on the first day after we got off the N'EX at Shibuya Station, as we didn't pay attention to the Exit, but just got off the train and went up an escalator, then to the wrong exit - New South Exit. The room was clean n quite spacious. Two complimentary bottles of water were provided daily(some hotels don't). But I got dry n itchy skin after using the shower gel (I guess that shower gel was common in many hotels there) Better bring yr own. Hotel is connected to the JR and a shopping mall - Mark City, where we enjoyed our breakfasts at the Cafes there every morning. Also, lots of restaurants n shopping centres nearby.

I was in Tokyo for 10 days on a business trip. My company booked me into the Shibuya Excel Hotel Tokyo. It was a most pleasant stay. I particularly liked; Quiet - good sound proofing and respectful guests Location - right in the heart of Shibuya View - my room had a great view of the crossing and north across the park Service - very efficient and polite Breakfast - "ok" Transfer - brilliant Airport Limousine coach comes straight to hotel. Excellent. Room - smaller than on previous trips around the world, but it is Tokyo! AC - worked well & quietly. Elevators - quick and reliable, great views from the glass ones. I recommend the hotel unreservedly. When there was a small issue with the hotel bill - it was sorted out very quickly.
