Friendly staff, very helpful. The staff spoke very good english. Very clean rooms, shower rooms and public areas of the hotel. Fully functioning kitchen, great for travelling on a budget. About a 10 minute walk to the train station, 10 in the other direction for the main asakusa shopping district. Really enjoyed my stay, had no troubles at all. Be prepared for a little walking, although there are bus stops in the main road Also plenty of convenience store around which is handy. Area is safe, as a solo traveler i felt fairly comfortable walking home at night.

Not too far from the station, this hostel was very clean and quiet. The staff had a good command of English and was also very helpful. For example, the bedlight of one of the girls who stayed in the same room as me broke, and they instantly replaced it. Overall, I would recommend and pick again should I go in Tokyo in the future.

Overall the place is nice. The location is good, the place is clean. One thing though is the lack of clothes rack, only one per room. I stayed in a room for 8 and it is really insufficient.

The bed was very soft and comfy!!! It was located in an area that is close to the subway, and there are shops around, and it was definitely a recommendable place.

Would stay again!

Wonderful hostel, quieter, definitely not a party hostel if that is what you are aiming for. I loved my stay. The staff were beyond accomodating, when I came in late on my flight. Never got to see the rooftop but but the downstairs lobby/living area is nice with a great kitchen. The hostel is a ways walk from the nearest station, but there’s actually a lot to see just 10-15 min walk away.

The staffs, the cleanliness, the condition, and the surrounding are great. I had a great experience living here. Super close to Asakusa, Akihabara, Ueno, Ginza, and Tsukiji.

Very fun little hostel

The most social hostel I have been to in Tokyo, which was great and exactly what I was after! I had heard it would be and lived up to every expectation I had read of the place. Shame I was only able to stay one night.

Perfect hostel with nice staff.

My favourite hostel in tokyo. Perfectly located between Ueno and Asakusa. Supermarkt and 7/11 close by. Nice room and common area. Rooftop garden is nice too.

Chilled out quiet hostel

Enjoyed my stay at Space Hostel. There is not much going on around the hostel night life wise and the common areas close at 12pm. Staff are super helpful and its clean :)

Good Tokyo Hostel

Friendly staff who spoke good English. One woman said she studied in New Zealand. Dorm beds have individual curtains, which were a nice touch and provided a bit more privacy than in most hostels. Can't take food or drinks into the rooms, which sounds like an inconvenience, but it helps keeping the place clean, so I don't fault them for it. The hostel is located about halfway between Sensoji Temple on the east and the National Museum on the west, both about 15 minutes walking away.

Good stay

I appreciate reviews since I use them as a base for my accommodation choices, so here's my rundown of Space Hostel: Location: There's a lot to do In Tokyo, and it's well connected via the metro. The hostel is located on the northeast side of the city in Ueno, a good 25-30 minute subway ride to the city center (Shibuya, Shinjuku, Roppongi). But there's a subway station located just 3-4 minutes in walking distance from the hostel that can get you anywhere, which was helpful. Cleanliness: The hostel was very clean, esp for having at least 18 people on each floor, there were no issues with the bathrooms or sinks or the room themselves. Staff: The staff was great. All of them spoke great English and were very helpful. Safety: As a solo female traveler, I felt safe with the hostel/location, even late at night. Overall, this was a good hostel. It has a nice common room area where you can sit, relax, and get to know others. At the end of the day, it's a hostel, not a hotel, and for the price I paid in Tokyo, it was very doable.

Perfect Hostel in a great neighborhood

We had a great experience at Space Hostel! The staff is nice and friendly and speaks perfect english. The lounge is cosy: you can meet other travellers, rest from a busy day, use the free wifi or enjoy your breakfast in the morning. The rooms are spacious and really clean, and the beds' curtains allow privacy. Bathrooms are nice too! The hostel is perfectly located to discover Tokyo, in the great neighborhood of Asakusa full of restaurant and local curiosities, and very close (at walking distance) from two subway stations. We had a perfect stay, thanks you very much !
