I simply cannot believe this hotel was so inexpensive. The staff was impeccable, helpful, accommodating and so professional. The decor, every little detail, is gorgeous, from the entry hall elevators up to the 13th floor reception area, to the reception area with its expansive windows overlooking the gorgeous Senso-ji Temple and surrounding area, to the beautifully appointed, and big for Tokyo standards especially, room. Soup to nuts this was an exceptional hotel. Not to mention that on the 14th floor there is a terrace where you can sit and eat and enjoy the amazing view. WOW.
near station, if you go to station to airport, the lift exit need around 10 mins walk, it acceptable. the room so clean and staff so helpful, they help to arrange same floor for my 2 rooms booking. Breakfast can acceptable bec just half buffet, but have fresh orange juice i like so much.
note the location because it is not near many attractions in the city
Like all of Japan, The Gate Hotel is extremely clean, welcoming and well-organized. Everything is in excellent working condition. Nespresso machine in the room along with tea kettle. Delicious breakfast. I would definitely stay there again.
Overall experience is good. However the location is kind of out of the way if you have a JR Pass. It's better to stay in Shinagawa area to maximize the usage.
Location is very close to all transportation. Room size is very spacious for Japan. But furniture is the cheap particle board type. Hot water boiler, coffee/tea/condiments are stored inside a cabinet that has no light at all. I had to use a flashlight to find items. The hotel is also convenient to restaurants and shoppings.
