Hotel Villa Fontaine Tokyo-Shinjuku3.0 out of 5.0

It's in the heart of the busy entertainment district but is business style and no outside noise in room. Reception is professional, room is cramped but well appointed with high-standard bathroom, air con and wifi. 10-15mins walk to Shinjuku Station. Breakfast is basic, pre-packed, no choice and delivered to the room - bit poor unless you want to take it out with you. Also they were unable or unwilling to check for allergy information.
Please check how to locate hotel before you go.....it is on a side street. Other than that, the hotel has a great staff, nice rooms, breakfast brought to your room, near subway. We would stay here again.
It's not very near to shinjuku station, need about 12 min of walking, would not recommend if traveling with elderly, literally you have to walk whole day and it's quite tiring for them. The room is small because of the big bed but it's workable to place two big check in bags in a room. The basic needs like boiler, fridge, hair dryer, amenities like toothbrush, comb, bath bomb, sponge are provided and I love to use the air humidifier in the room! Toilet and shower room is separated and it's huge! Lastly the breakfast box, a lot of review said that the breakfast taste awful and end up throw it away but personally I think it's quite ok, sufficient to fill your stomach and taste good if you were hungry, especially if you were rushing off early in the morning and have no time to grab a bite from the mini mart. Hotel is near to Korea town, just across the road, there is a don duty free shop Don Quijote and a few nice Korean local food joint!
The hotel room was small but clean and comfortable with a well equipped bathroom. It is located about 15 minutes walk from the East Ebtrance to Shinjuku Station. The reception staff were helpful with leaving luggage and explaining check in in English. Breakfast boxes were delivered punctually each morning after calling the front desk. Reception hours seemed to be 7am to 1am. Wifi worked well.
OK... SO first of all if ur planning to go to japan its very hard to find a nice big hotel. i chose this hotel because the pictures are nice but in fact the photos you see in the hotel is very big !! We had the biggest room, and it was super small. consider that you have your luggage and its very small. the bathroom is ok... quit big but its the worst hotel i ever been. Also i got the breakfast includes... witch i expert coffee, juice or something to drink but its not included keep that in mind. The breakfast is very poor and i MEAN IT VERY POOR is the smallest eggs i ever had and it comes with literally 2 potatoes and a sandwich very poor so don't spend ur money on the package with breakfast. well never stay in this hotel is very poor. I complained about the breakfast cuz i was spending 7 days in the hotel and i thought it wasn't fair, and they told me that they couldn't do anything. so another dissaponment with the staff. I told him that i was gone write this on trip advisor and he said, well its ur opinion. NO SOLUTION..... SO MY ADVICE IS .... NEVERY STAY IN THIS HOTEL BES SMART !!! Also i have experience with hotel cuz i work in a hotel so i can tell so that is pretty bad.
knowing that the size will be small in Japan, just fit for 3 of us, breakfast was hot when sent to the room, i left something in the room after checked out, they can only send it back to me via fedex of which the courier charge will be more expensive if I get a new one, don't know why can send back via post office, end up my friend go get back for me. nice card for my birthday when i checked in. centrally located in shinjuku , many shopping place and restaurant around.
I love Japan but I hate coming to Japan during the winter because the hotels shut off their air conditioning. Us Americans seem to cook, Asians don't seem to mind it much. I've had to move hotels in the past because the room is so small the heat gets unbearable and the windows don't open. The Hotel Villa Fontaine has window that open and each room also has their own AC, instead of cooking, I was super comfortable. Yes, the rooms are small by our standards, if you want a large hotel room be prepared to pay some money, hotels with larger rooms are significantly more money. The rooms are clean, modern and comfortable, for the amount of time you spend in the room it's fine. The hotel is about a ten minute walk from Shinjuku Station, it's pretty easy to find. There are a lot of great restaurants near the hotel as well as fun entertainment.
We tried to stay with my wife and our 8 months daughter on January but absolutely we couldn't in this room.It was so small. We really couldn't move with our 3 luggages inside there. It was clean but only this. We booked this hotel for 4 days with breakfast included but finally we move to another hotel.Something else that you need to know and really made me laughing was that there the breakfast included was only a Sandwich and they offer to you in the morning in the room! I couldn't believe this but is true! Ridiculous. Very bad price also for this hotel.Better avoid another hotel. You can find better.
Stayed here for a night out at the local restaurants and cafes. The place was quiet and comfortable. The bed was a good size for two although moving around room was a little cramped. Overall, I'd stay here again for a comfortable place to sleep. Nothing fancy but does the job.
The bathrooms and food served here is Japanese, but the beds are large and Western, which was wonderful and familiar after a day of running around. They bring breakfast up to your room everyday, and this room service was included with the price. Great location and good spot to stay as a couple or with friends
