The hotel is so clean. Our room was comfortable but not very big. They may have larger rooms, we booked one with two twin beds. It was nice that there was a mini fridge. Walking to Sunshine City Mall was quick and easy. Actually, it was easy to walk pretty much everywhere. Every staff member we encountered was incredibly polite and helpful. We didn't add the breakfast buffet when we booked our rooms because we weren't sure if we would use it. It was quick to go to the desk and purchase tickets. My husband's favorite thing was the spaghetti. There was an interesting variety of food to choose from. Having a Family Mart on the ground level was so nice. Most of the staff spoke English so that made things easier for us. All in all, I'd stay there again and would recommend it if I knew someone was traveling to the area. Not super fancy but it's clean, comfortable and convenient.

I like the location of this place, the cleanliness, helpful and friendly staff. My only complain is the water temperature of the bidet in our room was too hot, I asked the staff to lower the temperature but they were not able to :(

Very convenient location right next to the Ikebukuro Station. Not much space since we had 3 twin beds in the room, but it was adequate for us since we're not in the room that much, and bigger than comparable rooms in Tokyo. Staff (front desk and housekeeping) are very friendly and professional. Only gave 4 stars for Eco-friendliness due to the mandatory cleaning of the room after every 3 nights' stay. (We were there 7 nights, and would've kept and used our towels longer without housekeeping cleaning the room, however, understand their policy due to hygiene concerns. They cleaned our room the day before our scheduled departure, which I thought was a waste, since we were leaving the very next morning.)

Cheap and right outside of Ikebukuro station

The location is perfect and right outside of Ikebukuro Station on the East exit so that was convenient. We booked this hotel for its location and just to get a cheap place to sleep. It was a bit run down but the staff were really great.

There's more pros than cons. Yes it's a tiny room but I mean what room isn't tiny in the typical Japan hotel? -Close to the station -It was quiet for my stay, I was facing the tracks and it was fine. Like any hotel, there were neighboring guests were loud in the halls but that's just etiquette -Staff were always super nice and helpful -A/C heating was great -Has all the amenities you need -Right next to a family mart, really easy to get the random thing you need at night It has some cons but they are workable: -Their wifi is not good for streaming but it works fine if you were downloading the shows the watching it after -Sometimes their ventilation wasn't very good or strong especially if you have to naturally do certain things in the bathroom

Very near to the train station. If you are someone who is after a retro old school vibe, this hotel is for you. Yes it's old but it serve it's purpose. Its clean and comfortable. I would stay here again

I had a great experience at Daiichi Inn. We arrived early but they stored our luggages for us. Staff were very polite and kind. The location could not be better than this- 1-2 minute walk from Ikebukuro station. Given the location, I had expected it to be noisy through the day and night, but surprisingly the noise level was low and I slept very well. I recommend their breakfast- it is worth paying extra for sure.
