Wow! I paid for two rooms which were double rooms and I paid the same price for both of them. But when I checked in, they gave us one large room and one small room. When I went and explained it to them they literally said that that’s too bad and there’s nothing that can be done. The manager got involved and he said there’s nothing that can be done. I showed them the receipt from Orbitz that showed. I paid the same price for two identical rooms and they said too bad. Nothing can be done. Then I called Orbitz and explained it to the lady on the phone and she asked me if I explained it to them and I said yes she said she couldn’t believe it. She called the hotel and they gave me the room I should have. Astonishing! I will never stay at an APA hotel ever again.

The Hotel is nice and well located. About 15 minutes walking from Shinjuku Station. I got the larger room this trip and it was sightly more spacious but still tight for two people. The staff is professional but not very friendly. The bathroom is small but gets the job done. Good amenities and toiletries offered by the Hotel. I would stay here again due to location and dining options.

I wasn't impressed by this property, though it worked out okay for two nights. The communal bath for men was a highlight: clean and well-functioning. The hotel room also had some decent features. However, the room was unacceptably small and wasn't designed well. I would encourage this large hotel company to analyze and copy cruise-ship cabins, for example, to learn about space efficiency. The lobby decor and other materials were also lacking: overly cheap, colors that were needlessly dark or sad, and a lobby that was much too dedicated to a massive front desk and restaurant operations. We probably won't stay at an APA again. Some of the flaws were MUCH too obvious yet unaddressed.

Staff was incredibly helpful when trying to send our luggage to our next destination. There is obviously a language barrier as staff mainly speak Japanese, but staff were very effective at using simple phrases and translation apps. If you are thinking of staying here, be aware that the rooms are small. My partner and I seemed to manage, but it may not work for everyone.

We liked the location, convenient for Shinjuku rail station and Tokyo transit. Room was clean but very small with little space to hang clothes. Bathroom space limited. Front desk lobby area very poorly set up with impersonal service.

The hotel was clean, the staff extremely accommodating, and the room cleaning service they provided either automatically or on request, was immaculate. Despite our groups extremely limited Japanese, we were able to communicate with the staff with minimal effort. The rooms were on the small side, but we expected it and it wasn't a problem at all. Despite the extreme heat and humidity, the hotels air conditioning out-muscled it easily for some comfortable nights, and we're sweaty Americans. Overall, would absolutely stay at this location again, and other APA hotels in the future should the opportunity arise. To the staff, Arigato gozaimasu!!

Great location, comfortable stay

Bath was great. Men’s gets a little busy at night. Laundry seemed available most times. A lot of little conveniences (kettle, tea and coffee, slippers, ice machine, deep tub). Rooms small but not for Tokyo. Great, quiet location, 15min walk from Shinjuku Station, and on the corner with Shinjuku-gyoenmae station. Self check in was a little finicky but staff are helpful.

The AC turned off midway through the day, making the room a hot sticky mess. This made it very uncomfortable to come back to after spending the day out getting hot and sticky ourselves. At one point we had the idea to leave one card in the slot to see if it would stay on during the day. It did not. The bathroom smelled like sewage and the room always smelled musty - probably due to the humidity in the building. This all in turn made our luggage smell musty. There was a line that went out the doors when we were checking in and the staff member was handing out gift bags but skipped us. We were the only foreigners in line. Upon arrival, our sheets had a small amount of what appeared to be blood on them. The staff did change them upon request.
