The staff were courteous and helpful. They got us set up with a travel crib for our infant, and gave us advice on nearby eating options. Hotel itself is okay; pretty standard for Holiday Inns. As always, appreciated having the continental breakfast before heading out to our destinations for each day.
The staff was great, the room spacious and comfortable. It is A bit too easy to hear neighboring TVs. Ear plugs are available. Unfortunately, a badly chaperoned group of young hockey players were also there for the weekend. While assigned to the first floor beyond the pool, they ran all over the place, wiped out the evening cookies, made both are and shod footprints in the elevator doors, were loud all over the place. The staff did what they could, but I would ask about student groups before staying there again. The problem was with the chaperones or lack thereof. Be sure to ask for a quiet room.
We thought we missed it! Seems like it's in the middle of no where but it's really only 10-15 mins from anywhere. Great place to stay while we visit the mall. Staff were super friendly and helpful. Pool and entire hotel was clean and well kept.
We stayed here for one night and it was so relaxing. The check in was fast and very friendly, the room was spacious and comfortable. We really enjoyed the pool and hot tub. Couldn't get enough of it! Breakfast was good in the morning. This hotel is in the middle of nowhere so keep that in mind for when you are going out for meals. We will definitely be back! ~ Jenn ~
I have stayed here before and this hotel has the most upbeat staff anywhere. Andrew, the front desk supervisor, is the quintessential customer service person, always helpful, friendly and smiling. Everyone here smiles and makes guests truly feel at home. With family in Syracuse, we will continue to stay here.
Stayed at the Holiday inn express fairgrounds after a long day of shopping at destiny USA. it's +/- a 10 min drive from the mall. The rooms are clean and they offer a complimentary breakfast in the morning. We paid 138$ canadian and i would stay at the hotel again.
Lord knows why they plopped this hotel down where they did, but it was quite spacious. Front desk staff (Andrew) was great. He even showed us how to turn on the shower. Not intuitive! The downsides: no restaurants within walking distance (but try the Coppertop Tavern or Tully's in Fairmount... A short drive). Also, you can hear the elevator ring in rooms near it. Not good when trying to catch a little extra sleep!
Stopped here for an over-nighter on the way to NJ. Its become a favorite for my daughter + kids travelling back + forth form NJ - the kids love the pool - the place is clean and there's a great free breakfast included - and all for around $113 US. The hot tub was a nice reprieve after a long drive - I'd recommend it or sure!
It is somewhat of a oddball hotel, not because of the hotel itself but because of its location. There was really nothing restaurant wise that was very close or in viewing distance. Thankfully the front desk was quite helpful and provided us with a list of places as well as the driving directions that answered our questions. So please don't let this alter your decision to stay here.
Stayed at this hotel last Friday and Saturday nights (0ct. 28 - 29th). First nite was great. Hotel is fairly new, very clean, comfortable, etc. Second night all hell broke out with the arrival of a bus of kids who apparently had no one chaperoning them. We unfortunately must be had a roomful of them in the room above us who literally bounced off the walls, jumped off the beds, screamed, yelled, etc waking up me up from a sound sleep. At 1:30 am I'd had enough and called the front desk things improved and an occasional whoop or thump occurred until maybe 5:00 am. When noise again began with the little darlings collected in the lobby area. We were unfortunately in room 124. Peace finally happened and a calm descended when they packed them up in bus and drove away around 6:30. As a former teacher I've chaperoned any number of overnight trips and those were the worst behaved bunch of kids I've encountered. The institution behind that group of young people owes everyone in hotel an apology. I repeat where were the chaperones?
