Ok hotel with all you need at the room. But really nothing special. Best thing is the good Irish restaurant/ bar just next to the hotel. If you want a nice hotel with atmosphere go for the hotel downtown in stead.
Based on the reviews, I was expecting a better experience. I am part of Marriott's reward program and prefer Residence Inns when staying with the kids. The positives: the room was spacious, the hotel is fairly quiet and the location is fantastic. The service (front desk) was excellent. The negatives: our room was in rough shape. The handles in our bathroom cabinets were loose (they came off in my hand) and the kitchen faucet was not properly attached (it slid when we turned it on and it was slimy under the faucet.) Our room was not clean. There was litter (including a big piece of chewed gum) in the pull-out sofa and between the crevices. Lots of dust, grimy fingerprints, carpet stains and hair strands in various places; I always bring Clorox wipes and wiped down most of the surfaces in our room. It's pretty bad when the bathroom door has dirty smudges all over it. I did let the front desk know, and when we came back from our day touring the campus, the room smelled very clean. But no one has wiped down a door handle or around it in ages. I'm not sure I would stay here again unless they renovate. And I think the hotel is fairly new so I doubt that will happen anytime soon. I am disappointed because Syracuse has minimal options when it comes to decent hotels.
really nice hotel, well kept. everything was clean. Their staff was very friendly; i had forgotten some of my toiletries and they were right on it. can't beat the location, super close to great restaurants and cool places to hang out. The room was very spacious and the bathroom looks like it has been recently renovated.
This is a good place to stay, the rooms are fairly large and have a good city facing view. It's also located close to a lot of famous eating places that you can literally walk a few blocks to. The staff ensures the rooms are well cleant and they're attentive to staff issues and the checkin checkout didn't take unnecessarily long..They do block your credit card for the entire stay's amount, so if you're intending to stay long here, you might not be able to use your credit card, make sure to keep a spare!
The staff at check in or the valet service .... both make your stay the best in town. I have traveled the world and all 50 states but this place takes the cake when it comes to good people and amazing atmosphere. It isn’t just a hotel it is 5 star service all the way.
Stayed here on an anniversary overnight. The location is great. Many great restaurants within walking distance. The room was clean and comfortable. We also enjoyed the bar/ bistro area of the hotel. We found the staff to be friendly.
We chose the Courtyard on the recommendation of friends, due to its proximity to a party we were attending. The hotel was a short walk to our destination. The area is busy but safe and easy to navigate. The Courtyard property is modern, well designed and convenient to use. It is easy to locate, and to enter and exit by car. It offers valet parking. The main floor amenities for casual dining and relaxing were very good. The room was outstanding in every respect. Service by all Staff was excellent. We would definitely choose this hotel again if we planned to stay in downtown Syracuse for a night or two.
The hotel is in a great location, the staff were friendly, and the room was great. The problems started when it was time to sleep. It has to be the noisiest hotel room I have ever been in. The windows offer zero noise protection, probably single pane glass. You can literally hear the conversations of people walking down the street. Combine that with the bars nearby, firetrucks going by it was terrible. The bed wasn't great either, but that is personal taste, some people might love it. The pool is inadequate as well. It was a main reason we chose this hotel, but at only 3 feet deep and very small it is more of a large bathtub.
Nice hotel, but short staffed at reception desk. Only one person on duty on a Saturday afternoon. Very frazzled. Breakfast area ridiculously overpriced as was snack area. Ordered fruit cup for breakfast and it was moldy. They graciously refunded. This area was also understaffed. Otherwise hotel was nice and clean.
Stayed 1 night here. All the staff were very friendly and responsive to my needs. Beverages in the market were grossly overpriced, but I expected this because of the convenience. My room was large and comfortable. I had to dock points for the amount of noise coming from the street. Both vehicle and pedestrian traffic could be easily heard from my 6th floor room. At 1AM there was a fight in the bar across the street that spilled into the street. This hotel needs to invest in some noise proofing.
