As weather was bad in Scotland so we chose to dine in local Inchyra to celebrate our Ruby wedding anniversary . I only fancied prawns from starter , well they did not have that . I went without any starter . My husband had his starter , I just nibbled from his and watched him eating . For Mains I had Steak n Ale pie . No joke, came a big pie dish with 3 small pieces of meet and gravy like a soup . Chef offered another one , more meat but still runny , the worst steak pie I ever had! By the time second pie came , my husband finished his dinner.so on our anniversary , we ended up eating dinner separately ! Inchyra , as we have known for 30 years, gone down , never again !!!
Had lunch here on Thursday, food was great and staff were very friendly and welcoming. Look forward to coming back in the summer and a family wedding in the Autumn Close to sightseeing attractions in the area.
We ate here a couple of weekends ago on a fairly busy Saturday night. Having been, probably won't go back. My partner ordered a Medium rump steak which at £17 wasn't too badly priced, when it came it was tough in places and had obviously not been rested as it ran blood when cut. I ordered a Medium Rib eye which came in at £22, which to be honest wasn't great, it was in my opinion overcooked for medium. Both steaks came with one 1/2 tomato, a flat mushroom and a bucket of chips. My chips were somewhat overcooked and burnt and my partners were both a little under and overdone. Both steaks were ordered with a peppercorn sauce on the side. the sauce was watery and lacking in any real taste. Our daughter had the chicken burger which she said was passable. Add on a bottle of house wine and 2 coffees and there was no change from £100. Not really that impressed, left feeling hungry and cheated. Poor quality meal from a hotel who used to do it all so well.
Very enjoyable one night stay - large comfortable, clean room. Good food selection in the restaurant for a snack in the afternoon, dinner in the evening and great breakfast next morning. Good customer service all round! Used the pool, sauna and steam room and felt great afterwards!
We went to the nearby Inchyra Grange for afternoon tea. No special occasion, just because we could. The welcome at reception was warm, and service in the restaurant was professional and great. The food was lovely from start to finish, and presentation as you see in our photo. We'd lots of tea and coffee too! We made a valiant effort but were beaten, a few goodies came home in a foil doggy bag.
We stayed in another hotel on route to Scotland which was also a 4* that hotel knocked spots off this one...I was very disappointed to arrive here, the rooms and corridors are very dated and in need of some tlc! It was for a weekend away which I brought as a gift and I was actually quite embarrassed...the room (which we were told was an upgrade) looked out on to scruffy waste land...not my idea for a romantic weekend in Scotland!! Some major refurbishment required!!!!
I went for a two night stay with my boyfriend on the recommendation of this hotel. The facilities were nice and the room was pleasant but a Bit dated. On the first night of our stay we were woken up during the night by the fire alarm and had to stand outside for 45 minutes with no explanation as to why the alarm went off. As it was during the night we left our key in the room and we were told someone would be waiting in the hallway with the spare keys, this was not the case and it meant we were out of our room for over an hour during the night. The next morning we went for breakfast after being told how lovely the breakfast was and If I'm being honest it was far from lovely. It was burnt and the service was appalling. We waited 25 minutes to be served and then another 20 on the food coming to then not even be able to eat it. We complained about the breakfast and was advised we would get a refund three times. We are yet to receive this refund after calling up about it twice and being advised three times while we were at the hotel. Overall our stay really was not pleasant and we are both so disappointed with the whole experience.
Whole weekend was terrible, before we went we heard breakfast was the best thing there is to offer wt the hotel and it was terrible and hotel have "forgot" to refund the breakfast. Not an hotel i would advise not good service.
This is a nice hotel its in a great location close to Falkirk town where you can head out for a meal or drink. Love the spa in the hotel has a nice feel to it very relaxing especially the heated loungers. Also enjoyed a Champagne afternoon tea at Rosies Tea Room at the Grange Manor Hotel nearby. On the other hand some dog stole my brand new addidas jumper from the girls changing room whilst I was getting changed, I left it on the chair. Buy your own clothes next time... maybe they lifted it by mistake but hey they still havent handed it in!! Shame on you!!!
Checked in today, let me see, mmm. Pokey wee room, very dated. Not the normal standard I have come to expect from MacDonald hotels. Right beside some sort of fridge plant, no sleep for me tonight. Bathroom is terrible, in need of complete renovation and a good clean. If you're bigger than the average person you will have difficulty using the loo, squashed into a wee space the shower door and the toilet roll holder will keep you pinned in to the seat.
