hotel shut down everything when the storms came through. had very little rain and winds and they shut down the restaurant ( which means we had to find a taxi to take us shopping) the pools were closed. A/C is the room did not work well and staff said to turn it off and let it unfreeze. I would love to get some money back on this poor vacation

Stay wasn’t bad but it wasn't quite a five star either. Seaweed smell was terrible…..television didn’t work all weekend. Customer service was great a few staff were just amazing: Eliana, Gabriel, Johnny. Thanks again for all you did!!

Getting a golf cart to get around the property wasn’t quick at all. One of the drivers for the golf carts almost ran my ankle over not paying attention. The beach was full of seaweed and not usable. The seaweed was not a pleasant smell to have while trying to eat at the restaurant. Or sit by the lower pool.

The smell on this property is so vile that you cannot enjoy the pool, beach, or restaurant. The beach is covered in seaweed. Nobody makes any effort to clean up the beach, unlike other nearby beaches. Stay at the Westin or anywhere else!

Why stay here if the property is dirty and has so much sargassum that you can’t use any of the facilities. Also Expedia and Margaritaville didn’t say a word to me about it and then they blame each other to get out of compensating the customer for their lose. On top of this the room was dirty when checking in. I have attached pics of the couch … gross. The shower would leak and we would have to lay towels to shower. The worst experience I ever had. And It’s a shame and very disheartening such big brands won’t stand by their promises.

Most of the property was beautiful. However their beach was not maintained and was completely covered with sargassum. Definitely not the best smell if you’re sitting on your patio, at the pools, or eating at Margaritaville. To put it mildly, the area around the resort is somewhere between the 9th ward in NOLA and 8 mile in Detroit. Trash and junk vehicles fill the yards on Smith Bay Rd. Shady characters walk the streets at all hours of the day and night. STT has a high homicide rate, so travelers be aware of your surroundings.

The shuttle drivers were great, non working refrigerator, ac, outlets in kitchen and difficulty getting garbage picked up and clean towels was frustrating. The hillside pool never had towels and the restaurant bar was inconsistent with their pricing

Everything else about the hotel was amazing, but it was a smell every time you came down to the beach and they had no beach access either. And I didn't really want to smell that while eating at the restaurant, but everything is amazing and I will be back soon.

We selected this resort specifically for the beach front because we have little ones and it’s so nice staying on beach front property to take to the room for a nap during the day. Come to find out when we arrive to not be able to use the beach. Very disappointed in the amount we spent to be unable to use the beach front property.
