Very special place in St. Thomas. We love our Marriott vacation club and this property did not disappoint. The view was hands-down the best we have experienced at any MVC property. Easy access to to shopping and dining via the water taxi. A catamaran for cruise,, excursion, or dinner, and many activities. Great place.
We have been coming to the Cove since it was first built but this was a first time back since the hurricanes. The resort is in excellent shape and the staff was great to deal with. We have always had access to the sister resorts, Reef and Morningstar; so we thought that we would miss having the beach and the pools. We did fine without them. The Cove's beach was great and the Cove's pools was never overly crowded. We never had any issues with chairs like some people talk about. There are some people who come down and grab 6 chairs but never really sit it them but quite honestly, I am good with 2 chairs for the 4 of us. The buffet at the restaurant isn't great but I understand they are trying to serve a lot of people. You can still order take out thou. I love having the bands come in most every evening. The Happy Hour every day is great and we always take advantage of that that. The room was very clean and always free of bugs. Parking was no problem and the elevators were very fast.
Full disclosure - I am MVCI owner and brand loyal. This resort property is very pretty and well maintained. It has a nice infinity pool, nice "private" beach, and a water taxi to quickly take you to Charlotte Amalie The staff are all pleasant and helpful. There is only 1 bar/restaurant, but it's open all day. This resort visitors normally benefit from being next door to the Marriott Frenchmen's Reef hotel next door, which I understand has 5 restaurants an lots more resort amenities. However, this has not yet reopened since the 2 hurricanes in 2017. So, plan accordingly.
Frenchman's Cove was Great!! Staff was nice and efficient! The night Kayaking was a lot of fun !! The boat to town from the dock was fun and a nice perk. My only complaint is now that the Reef is closed there is not as much to do without leaving the resort. But that is only temporary as it will re-open next year ! We got the number of a taxi driver that was available to us the whole week. He was great! Showed us things we never would have seen. Made Recommendations as well. Maybe a tad more expensive than a regular taxi but worth every penny. Definitely will come back !!! Marriott as always does a Great Job !
The Frenchman's Cove is very nice Condo Living. With only one restaurant available since the Hurricanes, you might want to wait until next year when the hotel is up and running. I was there about six years ago and there were a lot of choices for dining. They had a great spa then also. Since taxis charge per person to go anywhere you might consider a rental car. Most nights were a theme so very little was available off the limited menu. Our two bedroom condo was very lovely. Spent several nights catching a beautiful sunset from our balcony. Will be back.
We had a wonderful stay. We enjoyed the activities the resort offers and the adventures that can be arranged right at the resort. Room, pool, beach, food all great. We enjoyed lovely sunsets every night. You really don't need to rent a car; taxis and water ferry can get you everywhere.
We just left Frenchman’s Cove and I cannot give this place enough stars to explain how much fun we had. The grounds are beautiful, the rooms are perfect, the pool was perfect, and the people will go above and beyond the make sure you have the time of your life. Remember, slow down, put the phone away, order a drink and ask your server to sit with you and tell you about their life. We had Benedicta as our waitress and she was the best waitress we’ve EVER had (anywhere). She cares about you and she WANTS to know about you. I can’t tell you what an asset she is to this resort. We can’t wait to come back and have dinner with her (either on or off the clock). Ask about her son and she will gush for hours!!! We come to the islands all the time and the progress they’ve made is inspiring. Take a cab to Megan’s Bay and have Nick poor you a painkiller. Then, go to Coki Beach and relax with the locals. And, if you need anything, just ask the front desk; they’ll make it happen. All in all, this resort is incredible and we can’t thank them enough for making us feel at “home”. All our love!!!
Island is still struggling to reopen its restaurants, hotels, etc. since the destructive hurricanes, so onsite amenities were limited to one restaurant and nothing else. Good food though! The resort is somewhat isolated with nowhere to really walk or go without a car or taxi. However, beautiful room, beautiful views, and very hospitable people! We’d likely go back when the companion hotel reopens, hopefully in 2020.
We spent the week of Thanksgiving 2018 at the Marriott Vacation Club in St Thomas. The resort is small with a great pool area, restaurant and activities. Our 2 bedroom condo was roomy enough for 6 people to enjoy, cook, shower and hang out. The beaches in front of the resort have been eroded away from the Hurricanes in 2017 and the adjacent Marriott Hotel is still closed. The staff at the resort is amazing and we will definitely return. The best beaches are worth a car ride anyhow. The resort is convenience to downtown, cruise ship shopping
We had a great time in St. Thomas & St John, Virgin Island. The ppl are friendly & hard working. We stayed at the Marriott Frenchmen Cove Villas. We had a villa with 3 bedrooms & 3 baths. This villa also included a formal dinning area & living room with flatscreen large tv's in all rooms. Also, each bedroom had it's on private balcony. The only thing about this villa it only had 1 restaurant that served all 3 meals & a small convenient store. It also had a barbecue grill. This was a good place for families. We went to the grocery store 2 purchase eggs, bread, water, fruit & muffins for breakfast & just went out for dinner. We ate at Gladys, Mimi's Seaside Restaurant & Hook line & Sinker. This property is nice but needs a lil updating & it could use a bar or lounge area. Overall I give it a 3star
