Magnuson Hotel Camelot

Staff was friendly and efficient. The room was clean. However the room itself was rather bare and institutional. Nothing at all on the walls; furnishings were rudimentary (the bed, 2 wooden chairs and a cheap table. None of the usual amenities - no Kleenex, shampoo, etc. No breakfast. Everything was adequate, but expect nothing but the minimum basics.

I was there with group of motorcycles and the management was very nice and let us park our bikes near the entry door so they can keep an eye on them with the security cameras... We were very grateful...

I booked a room here for my friends wedding and it was the worst possible stay. We hung our suits on the coat rack and there happen to be a thunder storm. Unfortunately for my friend and I there was a thunder storm and a leak in my room which caused our suits to get wet. (Keep in mind we were the groomsmen) I brought this to the front desk attention and they said they would switch us rooms when they have a room available. They never did even after we complained. They also don't like to refill any toilet paper. I have requested numerous time and not once did I ever get a response. Non-smoking. Does not matter. I have 2 kids with me and the room still smelled like smoke and they had no regulations the people next door had a smoking room and it went though the vents to our room. This hotel was a joke and they could cause some serious health issues. The leak caused very bad molding in the room with a smell. BTW the window is not locked and there is no net behind it. I only found out because my little nephew who was 5 opened the window and said "hey uncle I can jump out" that is very ridiculous and unsafe. I will be filing a credit card claim and dispute for this joke of a place. Dangerous, very unclean, hazardous to health. What else can I say?

Clean, welcoming, good breakfast selection. The service from the front desk to the cleaning attendants was great. I would definately go back for that price.

Hotel was clean and comfortable. Inside pool was well maintained which was very important with 2 boys, especially since there wasn't ANYTHING located anywhere close. Short drive to train station for baseball game.

The pool was very cold and the hot tub was just barely warm.

Non-smoking room across the hall from a smoking allowed room. Anyone that doesn't smoke knows why this is a problem. My room smelled of cigarette smoke. The bed was like sleeping on a king sized cot, terrible. It served it's purpose, though. A cheap room to sleep and shower in.

The pictures I saw of this place were deceiving. Fairly clean but old and odorous.

Motel was pretty much what I expetced...pleasant staff...convenient in area not overly busy. Wi-fi great but my only drawback was VERY limited TV channel selection.

My wife and I were going to our Grandaughters graduation and were just looking for a simple place to stay. This was the lowest price on [...], and wasworth it. Room was clean and simple, whole hotel was virtually spotless. Did smell of smoke in the hall, but not in the room. If you are looking for just a place to stay, this would work. If you want amenities, then go elsewhere.

The hotel overall was clean and nice. There were very nice amenaties in the room like the fridge and microwave. The heater was not working in their pool, so it made it basically unusable - and the front desk staff made it sound like they had no plans to fix it anytime soon. I was most upset with their pet policy which was completely undisclosed in any of their information or ads online. They only allow small pets and they charge an extra $20 for them (non-refundable). This policy was never mentioned anywhere online that I could find.

Racing at the Tri City Speedway. Great location, quiet, easy to get to

Quick overnight stay while daughter graduated at SIUE. It was convenient and was easy to find. Actual driveway tricky to see-signage covered by tree. Continental breakfast very bare bones, no fruit.

Quiet area and friendly staff. The room was clean and very comfortable.

For the price it was ok

I only spent one night here and I'm thankful for that. I wouldn't recommend this hotel for four reasons. 1) The only staff member I saw, working the front desk, looked like the actor Steve Buscemi and seemed strange. 2) The motel has 2 floors, but no elevator, so you have to lug your luggage up to the second floor, if that's where they put you. That's where they put me. 3) There isn't a marked entrance to this hotel. I arrived at night and had a hard time finding the entrance. 4) I stayed on a Saturday night and there were only three rooms occupied. I felt like I was staying in the hotel from The Shining. On the other hand, the room seemed clean. It had a refridgerator and microwave in the room. This motel also has a pool.

Hotel was fine, less expensive than others in the area, but very convenient to SIUE.

Needs some updating, but room was large enough, beds were comfortable, no elevator so be prepared to walk up stairs, (if elderly or handicapped)we didn't eat breakfast but it looked like cereal, bagels, danish. This sits a little far back off the road, we had to make two attempts to get correct drive. Don't let all the semis scare you there is a parking lot for semis right next door, and there is 3 or 4 large semi loading carriers 3 or 4 miles down the road.

The hotel was fine. Nothing special The free continental breakfast only had donuts. It could have had cereal, self-made waffle batter, bread/toast, etc. and more than just OJ like Apple Juice. Also, it would have been nice to have soap & shampoo. But overall, it was fine.
