Overall a nice weekend stay
The room was clean, but it could have been freshened up: carpet was clearly worn & not freshly vacuumed. Bed & pillows comfy & clean- big plus there; bathroom clean, but parts worn again. Had trouble with room temp- reported it but there was a passcode needed for the thermostat (?) Maybe part of being eco friendly but guests should be warned. The breakfast place was tasty, but something needs to change with the grab & go section. Also reported that to the front desk. Overall a lovely hotel, but a few tweaks would have made it perfect. Staff was trying hard to be pleasant, but you need more people. They are over worked, stressed & not getting the backup they need from management. Just trying to order a dessert from the case was a trial: no prices listed, no description (& no place to look it up) & the staff had no idea how to help.

It was a first trip for my friend to come to STL. She was very impressed with the Hotel and was comfortable with staying only about 15 mins away from the Arch and the city’s Tourist sites. It was my first time staying at River City. We both enjoyed the experience.
