We stayed here a couple of years ago and it was quite nice. It seemed a bit run down this time. Overall, not as clean and the room was dark, even with all the lights turned on. Was still OK, but not up to Marriott quality.
We got in somewhat late and were exhausted, Zack at the front desk was super helpful!! Both for checking us in, and giving us local information and Zion / hiking tips & tidbits. Everything I could ask for in a Marriott Property.
I stay here for business throughout the year annually. There's a reason why you stay at the same place when you get the type of service that I've come to expect here. St. George is a great place to do business. Towne Place Suites always takes care of my team. The rooms are great, great workout area and pools as well. It makes the downtime from not working worthwhile. And they always take care of us whatever we need. They are like family.
The room design was the most functional Marriott room I have ever stayed in . It had a great functional design great appointments clean and comfortable. The hotel location was perfect for visiting the St. George area and visiting the local national parks. Highly recommended great breakfast and great staff. I worked for Marriott for 25 years and have stayed at many Marriotts worldwide. You will Like this hotel
We reserved a single bedroom suite that had a pull our couch and pullout chair to use as beds for our teenagers. They liked the pool. The room had a jetted tub in the bedroom The hotel was close to everything. The staff was very helpful and quick to respond to our requests for extra blankets. Breakfast staff worked hard to keep the food choices filled and available on the busy holiday weekend we were there.
I'm used to paying more for Marriott for the superior service and quality. This TownePlace Suites left me feeling like I paid more for the name only. I've had better rooms/service at Ramada & even Super 8. The room we had on the 3rd floor was right next to the elevator. The layout of the room was very awkward and had a pass-through closet that was a closet for both the coat area and the bathroom. It was an extremely small room and barely fit the 2 double beds & sleeper sofa. The sleeper sofa when extended had to compress the cushioning on the beds to fully extend. There wasn't the room we have grown to expect from Marriott. Overall, the room was clean but did have minor maintenance items like a chip in the counter-top and paint peeling in the bathroom that aren't bad per-se but definitely not what I'd expect from Marriott. The breakfast was VERY busy and the space for the breakfast area was way too small for the size of the hotel. I'd stay again, but only if I could get a deal on the room that made the cost similar to a Ramada/Best Western/Quality Suites.
Only in for 1 night to catch the musicals at Tuacahn. Requested a room closest to the entrance as my wife has difficulty walking. No problem. closest room to the front was waiting for me at check-in. Room 121 Room had full refrigerator, 2 burner stove, microwave toaster, and dishwasher. it had an equipped kitchen. Grill by pool is available if you want to cook some steaks or burgers. Bed was comfortable and room was quite. Free wi-fi was fast. Free breakfast included Staff was friendly and very welcoming.
I have driven through St. George plenty of times growing up in Las Vegas but never stayed until now. I selected the hotel based on using points and location. I looked at the Courtyard and TownPlace Suites without realizing the two were next door to each other. I thought the location was excellent. Easy access to St. George activities. I was a little worried about bug infestation while walking to the main entrance, I was happy to not see any alive during our stay. The room was nice, a lot of storage and a good size kitchenette that we did not use. I would recommend the hotel for families or a long stay based on these options. It was a pet friendly hotel and one guest stated that the grounds were nice for walking dogs. The front desk clerk when we check in was very nice. The front desk clerk during the stay (different person) could use a little help with customer service. We had a first floor room and the folks above could be heard walking heavily around their room. Because it was at 1am, it was not a pleasant or easily ignored. The bed seemed comfortable enough; however, I had a difficult time sleeping as my back was hurting.
After a long day of travel we reached our end of day destination to find out that since my husband was retired military, he was not eligible for the military rate. We have never in all our travels experienced this issue. While the hotel representative was correct as proven by reading the fine print, I disagree with the way this was handled. As it was 9 pm and a very long traveling day, I didn't walk away. We paid a higher rAte and stayed the one night. The rate was not our only disappointment however. Our room smelled like cigarette smoke and the electricity in the bathroom arced and flickered so we did everything in the bathroom in the dark for safety. What a disappointment overall.
Overall this is a good location if you are visiting St. George and is only a 45-1hour drive from Zion National Park (get an early start) and Pros: Overall good size room with two queen beds, a sofa bed, a large dining table and galley kitchen with full size appliances. Great location to highway and so many restaurants and other conveniences around. You can walk to many of them if you wanted. Cons: The bathroom! The whole layout of the room was designed poorly. The galley kitchen is right as you walk into the room and so if anyone is there cooking or preping it really blocks the flow to the front door. Second they put this huge closet with two sided access between the kitchen entry and bathroom. it is literally bigger than the bathroom and is a complete waste of space. They could have cut the closet in half and given more room to the bathroom. The bathroom, biggest issue with three people sharing this suite. Tiniest one sink that is open to the room. Then the toilet and shower combo was very small. Didn't make for changing (for privacy) easy and because of the layout if someone was using the sink on the other side of the door you would have to make sure you didn't hit them when you opened the bathroom door. Finally, noise. The walls are not soundproof. We definitely heard our neighbors, especially the ones next door who were having a little party and had a big barking dog. Luckily they quieted down at night. If it wasn't for the fact that we stayed on points, I would stay somewhere else next time.
