We were looking forward to our 4 night stay because it is close to family in town. They had a help wanted sign on their marquee so we had concerns of cleanliness. The lobby was dark lit and appeared to be dusty. The front desk was not monitored (which is okay) and it took several minutes for someone to help check us in. The person who eventually came out appeared to also live there and was visibly irritated that she was having to help us. When we asked to see the room she became further irritated as if we insulted her personally and she begrudgingly escorted us to the room. This might have not been directed at us but rather she clearly has weight issues and struggled to get up the steps. The room decor was outdated but clean and neat. Towels were clean but worn looking. The tv was antiquated. We asked to cancel our reservation and forfeit the first night stay but we were told we lost ALL nights. Orbitz also tried to assist but they failed. We ended up at one of the corporate run hotels (with a pool, hot tub, breakfast) a few miles away. Had they not taken our full reservations for all 4 nights, we would not be sharing our experience. We would not recommend
I could not get the conditioner to dispense. The body lotion was watered down. The bed sheets were very thin with holes in them. The entire inn was warm. The air conditioner in the room was blowing directly on us all night and it was noisy.
Easy to get to between Waite Park and Saint John's.
Mom and Pop place . Friendly and professional Felt welcome .
Everyone was helpful. Breakfast was simple, but filling.
Family owned and very nice. I am daughter #2 at St Bens it's almost a tradition staying her. Always clean and it very conveniently located.
We stayed here during a college reunion weekend. It was quiet and had everything we needed. We spent most of the weekend at the college campus so just needed a quiet and comfortable place to sleep. They had a nice breakfast and a refrigerator and microwave in the room, which we always appreciate.
The Asteria is not a fancy place, but it is comfortable, quiet and close by to restaurants, grocery and other stores. It was a good place to stay.
