We were very pleased with our recent stay at the Residence Inn. The check-in experience was expedient, rooms were spacious and clean. We were most impressed with Rhonda, Donna and the breakfast crew. They were friendly, welcoming, and interactive. They were genuinely caring and trying to make us feel welcome along with our 2 year old grandson and infant granddaughter. We were able to enjoy a hot breakfast at a leisurely pace. I would definitely return if traveling again in Springfield, Illinois.
We arrived very late (0030) for our nights stay and to say the least we were very impressed. Young lady at front desk was friendly and appeared to be happy to see us. The check in process was easy and fast (app). When we got to our room we were amazed. It was spacious and clean. Bed was outstanding and bathroom was clean and well stocked. We did not have breakfast, but it looked really good. Coffee was hot and good so that was a bonus. When I gave my keys back to front desk in the morning I received a “was everything good and thank you so much for staying”. Sounds pretty simple, but you don’t always get that anymore. This is where we will stay every time we are in Springfield from now on. Good job Residence Inn.
Stayed in a two bedroom suite with the family. The staff was very friendly and always welcoming. We were close to many restaurants. The breakfast was hot and didn’t have to wait for anything. The pool was clean and had plenty of towels.
This was a last-minute overnight stay for us and did not disappoint! Clean clean clean and great and friendly service. Breakfast crew was super friendly and interactive with guests. Told they were the #1 in the system and not surprised! Would definitely stay again if in the area!
We love this hotel for our travel basketball team. The rooms are spacious and accommodating for families. The morning breakfast is fantastic and the staff is great. They also have a laundry for washing uniforms which was helpful. The rooms are also very quite so it was easy to get a great nights sleep.
This was our third stay. At breakfast Rhonda and Tina were there again regaling us and others with stories and they both seemed to remember us! Breakfast was hot and filling served buffet style. While eating breakfast we noticed a truck pull up and two men got out, one of whom picked up a piece of trash in the lot and took it over to a trash can. I thought that’s not normal as it was cold and windy out. Sure enough they were some of the owners one of whom gave us a card after coming in and asking how our stay was! Mr Ehrhardt seemed to the sort of owner who is not afraid to get his hands dirty and wouldn’t ask his staff to do anything that he himself would not do. After spending a few minutes talking to us “Spike” excused himself. What a nice man! Robin and Christina at the front desk were very helpful and asked every day how my dad was doing as we were in town to check on him being almost 90. Suffice it to say this place was a clean, friendly refuge each day upon return from taking care of my dad. We’ve stayed at the Crown Plaza, Abraham Lincoln, and the old Hilton tower which is now something else. This hotel is just as nice, and has several nearby restaurants you can easily walk to such as the Springfield Char House or the Cancun, or just across the street you can drive to a rib place, Bob Evans, Red Lobster, Hooters, etc. The only downside was the quality of the evening munchies, some like the BBQ pulled pork were rather pedestrian, I don’t think there was any bbq sauce, and the wines were so-so. Something like Rodney Strong would be better.
This was a return stay at this Residence Inn and I am still impressed with the property. Check-in and check-out were quick and efficient. There are two elevators which were both operating - no waiting. The Studio has plenty of room, nice furniture and a kitchenette with everything you would need for an extended stay. The room was quiet; I did not hear any noise from either inside or outside the hotel. The complimentary breakfast was excellent. Many choices - that morning included eggs, potatoes, sausage, hot cereal, cold cereal, biscuits and gravy, fresh fruit, with two do-it-yourself waffle makers. Coffee urns were constantly replenished and the staff was very friendly. I will gladly visit again.
This hotel is very nice with a modern feel. The complimentary breakfast was nicely done and the staff members were friendly throughout the whole visit. It is conveniently located close to local colleges as well.
Although my room was the last in the hallway, which made it colder, I think, the staff was superb. I was there on business, and my stockings ran in the am. Since they don't sell stockings in the mini store (I called down to ask), the front desk person said they would be happy to run out and buy me a pair! WHAT? That was way above and beyond. I found everyone to be quite friendly, and that is so refreshing when you are away from home and have tight time schedules. The room was a bit dark, but I always find that it is comfortable - a nice home away from home with a "family" of friendly staff to make the stay more pleasant.
We lived in Spfld 30+ years ago, for 20 years, so we are very familiar with the city and go back to visit relatives. We have stayed in hotels by the malls on the West side. Forget it. Same way with hotels in heart of the city near the Lincoln sites. Don't waste your time and money. We found our favorite place and it is Marriott's Residence Inn near Lake Spfld. Clean, Very good and helpful staff, rooms with the kitchen, small livingroom area, bed and bath. Great for a couple or parents with one or two small kids. Very nice pool area, basketball, gym, good breakfast. Very close to the lake if you need to go there. They accept pets. Coming in from 72 East, or from 55, it will be easy for you to find and traffic is lighter on this side of town than the West side. Looking for good food. Darcy's pint is on the South side of town like this and makes Spfld's famous Horseshoe's. Go from this wonderful hotel, head North on 6th st, see Lincoln's sites downtown, then try Spfld's other great restaurant not far from there for dinner, Alexander's steakhouse, voted best steaks in Spfld. Opened 34 years ago and still going strong. Cook your own or they cook it for you. Yup, we go back every year and Marriott's Residence Inn on Stanford is definitely the best place to stay. Forgot. It is close to the old Route 66 sites too. Great bed too, very comfortable rest and it does have places to eat nearby,
