No one greeted us, at check in the was a mess up with the reservation waiting for 1 hr at the front desk, no water, on the first day and on the second day no power or water for almost 7 hrs. The pool was green, it’s smells when walking around the resort. Made reservations for one of the restaurants with the concierge, when we went we were not on the list. Etc never again

Facility Issues, poor service and food poisoning. We were disappointed that half of the water park was closed. Then the hotel experienced maintenance problems, including a complete loss of water and power. When we sought help for plumbing issues due to half our family's food poisoning, the only alternative offered was to stay in the lobby. We had reported our food concerns to management, but there was no record when I followed up later. We requested a refund, for the night we had to stay off site to have plumbing (mopping vomit by phone flashlight, not great), and the staff told us to contact Expedia for assistance, claiming they could not help us directly. When Expedia followed up on our behalf, our request was denied by the resort, indicating a lack of willingness to resolve issues. While waiting to address our concerns, I overheard multiple interactions that highlighted the resort's troubling approach to customer service. The resort offered a complimentary doctor for my son, who was suffering from food poisoning (from the resort). The doctor was wonderful, but the situation soured when we were informed that there would be a $250 charge for the complimentary service. While the offer of medical assistance was appreciated, the attempt to charge us for it seemed exploitative. If things go well you will love the resort, if anything goes wrong they will do nothing to help. If I erase the 48 hours described above it was a lovely trip.

We stayed here six years back with little kids and returned with another family and teens. There’s lots to do, decent food at any time (a new app to make reservations easier) and sunny perfection. The staff was helpful and kind. We saw monkeys almost daily early about 7-8am near the swings or water park. The biggest slides of the park are closed due to maintenance and one night power went out. The staff did a great job pivoting. One of our five kids did get food poising that lasted about 24 hours. The rest of us had no issues. Overall a great experience

The hotel rooms were nice and easily accesible. The property was beautiful and clean. The staff was friendly and helpful. The all-inclusive package was convenient and the food and drinks were great. We had just a few issues. First, we went during spring break and the water park for older kids/adults was inoperable. Closed down for repairs. Second, the restaurant that was advertised to be open until 6am closed down at 5am. This was a problem because there were no restaurants open at 6am, when pickup for tours begins at 7am. The tour we went on was Chichén Itza, so we were expecting a 12-hour day away from the hotel. It was imperative with a teenager that we get food but when I communicated this to the management, he casually disregarded me and explained the the shift turns over at 5am to the next shift so that is why the restaurant “El Nido” wasn’t open, even though it’s hours are listed until 6am. We were given an apple and a piece of bread and sent on our way. So I suggest you call ahead and see if the water park is open, if that’s important to you. Also, make sure you plan your outings accordingly so that you aren’t starving because of the lack of early morning restaurant hours.

Our room was spacious and clean. We needed bedding due to illness and had great difficulty communicating with staff via telephone and in person. The resort is large, lots of walking. The buffet food wasn’t good at all. Large Water slides were shut down, I had checked the website before booking to make sure they weren’t, as it was an important part of our trip, we’d be spending a great deal of time at the water park. The “store” has very limited necessities and very overpriced. Beach was clean and beautiful. No fighting over lounge chairs by the pool or beach. Lots to see and do on the resort, shouldn’t have much need to leave for entertainment

When we went there all the big water slides were down due to maintenance. At first we thought it wasn’t that bad. Lots of maintenance that needed to be done. Doors that wouldn’t fully open, light switches broken, bathrooms flooded which was what ever. But when our whole party of over 40 people slowly got sick once at a time that’s when it became bad. Then the power went out for half a day into the night. No running water, nothing. Which closed the water park, showers around the resort to wash your feet off, and some activities. By the end of our trip everyone had either been puking or doing number 2 or both.

I think this is a great hotel but there were some big issues for me. For starters when we arrived at 5pm on our first night we were not given any welcome package or explanation of the resort or water park. One of our rooms (we had 2) had bugs and bug traps under the bed. We were never told we only get 1 dinner reservation but apparently is you are there 4 or less nights you only get 1 reservation at the nicer Restaurants and all other meals must be at the buffet. The grounds were beautiful and it felt like a jungle which the kids loved. Unfortunately only the kiddie portion of the water park was open while we were there so no fun slides for adults. The food was mediocre at best with the buffets being sub par and limited in offerings. I think with some small improvements the resort could be great but our experience was just ok. The only restaurant on the ocean was a reservation only and we couldn’t get in during our stay. We would not go back to this resort again even though it has a great vibe and is VERY kid friendly. We loved that families were so welcome and the kids had lots of others their age to play with.

This place was magical. Some reviews made we question but Sandos did not disappoint. The size is very manageable with fresh water CENOTES on site that you can swim and snorkel in! The waterpark is amazing for both children and adults! Lots of wildlife that our son enjoyed seeing! The kids club has very nice staff and very clean that allowed us adults to have an early dinner alone. The only difficult process was getting reservations to dinner. We never went to the reserved restaurants on site due to booking being difficult. However, the buffets were absolutely amazing and the food was great! The entertainment staff and shows were out of this world! Fernando is an incredible entertainer with both the children and adults! We recommend to any family and will not disappoint!

Always nice to stay here. Staff is awesome and the food is great. The only negative was there was so much seaweed on the beach it was hard to walk or get into the ocean.

Wish that our first day they would have explained the bracelets and given a tour of where everything is. Booking at restaurants only happed one of the 7 days.

Almost perfect. we need more amenities for teens

The whole experience was great for my kids and me. The only downside is that there were too few ping pong tables for the large number of people there, and the pool tables (only 2) were not in good condition. The rest of the hotel and food are great.
