While the staff is cleaning rooms daily, the draperies are very dusty and the windows are dirty. The hotel has an outdated feel as the wallpaper is staring to peal off... The serving plates in the hotel restaurant are very dirty on the bottom, if you turn a plate over you will not want to eat out of that plate. I did even see a roach next to the bread basket and alerted the staff... The entrance is odd as the Lobby is on the 6th floor and the entrance is less than impressive. The location of the hotel is very good. With some updating and thorough cleaning this place could be a much nicer place to stay in Singapore.

Great experience: restaurant staff were very helpful and friendly. Check-in staff lacked warmth. No clearly marked signs to the business center. No access to hotel public computer for checking-in of flights. Downstairs reception area: somebody in uniform should explain that check-in is upstairs and that luggage could be left downstairs which the staff will bring up. Dropping bags downstairs caused a sense of anxiety since, although the staff were in uniform, to a new guest to the hotel, I did not know if I could trust the staff at the baggage counter. There was no indication that it was the baggage drop-off point for the hotel. Staff acted like as if any guest should know that bags were to be dropped off downstairs. Overall, the hotel was good value for the money even though it was a little dated.

Nice room on the 20th floor with a great view of Fort Canning Park. Close to Clark Quey and multiple MRT stops and shops. Breakfast is also good. Two well maintained pools.

Everything is good but the handy phone doesn't work also the tv in our room We smell cigarettes smoke from other room for 2 nights that we're there Need to reinforce the non smoking policy in the hotel rooms

Conveniently located by city hall and near the MRT. Entire staff from front desk to housekeeping super friendly. Some people said the interior is a bit dated, TV is small, etc. but if you're after the super fancy experience you can find that for the next price point up. Would definitely stay here again!

I stayed in the hotel for 2 nights. The first impression wasn't great. Check in was slow and the concierge staff who helped me with check in didn't seem helpful (you can see her angry face throughout the check in process). I got my room after 10 mins waiting at concierge. When I arrived in my room on 14th floor, there was a strong odour in the room from the painting in the opposite room! The odour was sooooooo strong and you could smell it in the corridor too. I couldn't believe the hotel actually left the room (which undergoing the painting work) door open. I immediately asked the housekeeping staff to spray my room. The soundproofing of the hotel was also not good. I could always hear the noise in the corridor very clearly.

Excellent location, clean rooms & Good service. This hotel is in the center of Singapore highlights.

This hotel is less than a 5 minute walk from City Hall MRT and only a 20 minute ride from Changi airport. The hotel is undergoing renovations and my room looked as if it needed some cosmetic work. The staff was very nice and looked after me very well. The only down side was the breakfast buffet was expensive and not very good but there is a coffee shop in the hotel that serves all day breakfasts and the cost is less than SGD 10.

The hotel is quite close to all the major tourist spots, we were able to walk to National History Meseum, Raffles Hotel, major shopping complex and even Chinatown. The metro and public bus transportation were also within easy walking distance. The breakfast buffet was good as it starts early in the morning (630). Most people speaks English, so easy to get directions. Got my Chili Crab from the Smith Street hawker stand, it was good with beer. Could have stayed a few more days. But the smoke from the Indonesean forest fires were making the city too uncomfortable. Overall a great experience!!

The area is a little shady. Next streets are alright. Friendly service, but poor food.

Excellent security service and room cleaning service.

This trip was our first time in Singapore and we didn't know where to go and what to expect. As soon as we checked in, the hotel staffs were so helpful and made things go smooth for us. We didn't waste any time and off we went for just a stroll around and followed the river towards Fullerton. We were so excited and amazed with the views and the infrastructures. We talked to people and pointed us to the direction of the Merlion Park. Hundreds of tourists were taking pictures everywhere. From there, we decided to eat our dinner and slowly walked back to the hotel. The following day, we walked the opposite direction towards China town. We did a lot of shopping for souvenirs. There were a lot of places to eat and of great selections. I was really glad that we ended up staying in Peninsula Excelsior. I will definitely go back to that same hotel and bring some friends with us. Everything was just a short walk from where it is located.

Within walking distance to Chinatown, Bugis, Arab Street and Little India, it's only a 3 minute walk to City Hall metro station. Very nice hotel, certainly for the price in the heart of Singapore, I would definitely stay there again!

The location was very good close to a number of tourists attractions shopping malls and subway station. Everything else was good except the breakfast was very ordinary and the coffee and tea were always cold.

We really enjoyed the hotel, albeit space was tight in the rooms. Also, was charged extra $80/ night pet extra bed (third).

As usual a predictably solid choice. Location is perfect and I'll continue to use if pricing is right. Unfortunately pricing is not constant and IS unpredictable.

This hotel was located centrally within walking distance of a lot of things (China town, Arab town etc) and close to the underground at City hall station. The hotel was tired and a bit shabby in places. The room smelled musty as did the bathroom which had dirty grout around the tiles and black mould in places around the bath

Hotel is located in Coleman street which is very well situated to access most areas of Singapore. Frequent taxi route , as well as easy access to buses and trains. Room was a good size, good wifi connection. Unfortunately there was a lot of audible construction noise day and night from the nearby worksites (I was on 8th floor) but that may be difficult to get away from in Singapore central as there is construction just about everywhere and at all hours.

Arrived in the wee hours of the morning and was checked in immediately. The location is perfectly located in central Singapore. Within walking distance to all attractions and MRT City Hall station. Highly recommended safe accommodations with excellent views of the city skyline and marina bay areas. Visited as an independent traveler on vacation and this hotel met all my needs at a reasonable cost.

The location is the best thing about this place and anywhere in Singapore is easily reachable from here. The rooms are good but not outstanding. The breakfast buffet is very overpriced and local food choices are limited. The TV had few quality channels. Overall though good to very good. Would stay there again.
