Very high standard of fitout in the rooms in a W style. Staff efficient and friendly. Food in restaurants including breakfast very good. New hotel. If you want to be a bit 'away' from it then it's a great location by the Sentosa cove marina. But if you are here for business or want to see the sights around town it's a little inconvenient. There is a shuttle bus to HarbourFront station on the mainland but taking that a lot would be tiresome. And taxis can be hard to find on Sentosa at times. Also the two wheeled fraternity should note you are not allowed to bring a motorbike to this hotel even as a resident. Grounds for a boycott for that fact alone in my view, although to be fair that's a Sentosa policy not the hotels.
Be prepared to be "wowed" when you stay at this stylish designer hotel. The second you arrive you are greeted warmly and made to feel special. We arrived at night to all the fabulous lights and music - it was a bit like a red carpet event... i even looked around for the paparazzi!. The design aesthetic is very funky, hip and cool - real kitschy cool. The super cool entrance, amazing lobby and concierge area are matched with very helpful and cheerful staff We stayed in a 'fabulous' room and the design, decor, furnishings and feel made you really feel fabulous. The beds we super comfy and the bathroom toiletries lovely. We had a balcony that over looked the W and the swimming pool. The spa experience was relaxing and enjoyable. A couple of downers - the music the first night we arrived was very loud and gave a night club feel - not sure everyone is going to go for this? - and the morning breakfast dining experience was chaotic and frenzied - not relaxed at all. Lots of children when we were staying - they were loud, noisy and let loose running everywhere and the buffet was under severe attack! A suggestion is to perhaps separate the breakfast rooms so those without kids can enjoy their breakfast!
4 Days in to our 5 day stay, on our stop over to bali, we have stayed in 5 star hotel all over the world and this as to be one of the best by far , staff can not help you enough , room service is perfect, we had one little issue with our tv at around 11pm local time , and the issue was sorted out within 20 mins, would not think twice about staying hear again , well done team w sentosa , mr wilson room 545 .........
Staff are friendly and helpful. Hotel is located in beautiful Sentosa Island with shuttle bus to Resort World of Sentosa and Vivi City where you can change MRT to other locations, i.e. China Town, Orchid Road, Marina Bay, etc. Thing to remember will be the bus schedule (hotel or Sentosa shuttle) because you may need to wait another 30-45 minutes if you miss the bus.
Pros: Bathtub is huge, free bottles of water, view from the balcony is great, staff in the hotel is friendly and the the hotel's public restrooms are clean. Cons: The way in and out of W hotel is so deep in and far from everything. Had to wait an hour and a half for our rooms to be ready despite being told we could check in at 2pm sharp. Switched on the TV and the sound system directly comes out from the toilet! Telephone doesn't exactly label the housekeeping, room service or the front desk hotline. And the basin sink is choked out most of the time.
Just got back from 2 nights here on a stopover. W is a lively hotel, rooms okay, quite small. Pool is big, music playing which was nice! Staff were lovely and helpful. The doormen were great helping us get taxis! Would stay again!
Having read others' comment about the hotel I was a bit reserved about going to this hotel. But the whole experience turned out to be "wow" x 1000! Right from entering the hotel, to checking in, to entering the hotel room, everything was "wow"! The staff are so helpful, efficient and cheerful! The design of the room was not just trendy but also practical. The room (2 double beds) was spacious, clean and comfy. I love the small balcony that overlooked the swimming pool. All in room facility were in good condition. The daily supply of bottled water was thoughtful. The swimming pool was magnificent. We spent the whole morning there to relax and enjoy. The choice of food for breakfast buffet was wide, the noodle bar is a must-try! There are a lot of nice restaurants at the corner in Quayside Isle. And it was so nice and quiet to walk along the boardwalk there. The staff at the entrance were so helpful in assisting us to find the right shuttle bus to the rest of the island. They even offered free pass for Sentosa monorail. We enjoyed the stay at W very very much!!
The hotel has all the bells and whistles and pizzazz you'd normally expect from a W hotel. The room: Marvellous Suite was fantastic. One bedroom plus lounge area and expansive balcony and coolest bathtub ever. Gorgeous views of pool and marina. Could not fault the room however, the mattress was the most uncomforable during my holiday visiting 5 different hotels. The pool is spectacular. Has the most awesome swim up bar. Nice to relax in after a busy day at Sentosa. If you plan to visit Sentosa with the kids it's great to stay at Sentosa because there is so much to do and see and frankly it's exhausting. (However, it isn't necessary to stay at Sentosa. It's only about 25 to 30 mins by taxi to get back into the city.) There are shuttles to take you to the action at Universal etc (every 10 mins or so). The hotel is not within walking distance to Universal with kids. The pool at the W was way better than the hard rock. Newer. Hard rock is in the action and was very busy and quite honestly provided no a reprieve from the crowds or craziness of Sentosa. Going back to the hotel which is not near Universal etc was like arriving at a sanctuary. The service in the main restaurant was appalling. Food was just okay. There are a few nice restaurants, within minutes, along the Marina so dare to venture out. Definitely a fab and funky option if you want to be in Sentosa. (We broke up our 5 singapore stopover to Thailand into a city stay and a sentosa stay).
This is a great stay for famiies with toddlers, who want to take a break from bustling cities, yet not travel a lot for such atmostphere. the boardwalk next to the hotel has a very mix of restaurants to explre fine dining options right outside too. the buffet and breakfast spread inside the hotel are very extensive and are more than sufficient in case you want to be within premises and relax ... We loved the stay and will definitely go back !
Went there for my short vacation with my husband, a very luxury design hotel. I must say the spa is a "must try", I am in love with their coolest shower option in the spa, you can shower with "thunderstorm" water pressure, so cool! Beside, the room and stay are all in order, love the welcome water (free flow) in lobby, the only thing I should voice is the location of the hotel is very far from the access. People who like to be in away from city/happening may love this. It is more convenient if you drive from the main island, but if you are traveller like me, we took flight to airport, took mrt, took cable car, took bus, well still convenient just quite time consuming.
