Surprised that this hotel bares the Shangri-La name. It was not as expected being a 5 star resort. The resort could use a renovation, as rooms appear quite old and outdated. The shower was quite small, despite paying for a room upgrade. The mini-bar in the room was lacking, only including a few juices and sodas. It was surprising to not see it fully stocked with an assortment of drinks despite the large size of the refrigerator. A long dark hair was found on my toothbrush after housekeeping left the room. Checkout lines were long. Only one showroom is available. Breakfast seemed a bit unorganized. There were many people not in an organized line when getting food. The jacuzzi was not warm, it was the same temperature as the pool. The jets were not powerful. The pool closes early, at 9:00 pm. Overall it was a nice stay, but more was expected given the price and being a Shangri-La resort.

This is a HUGE resort. At times overwhelmingly over crowded (weekends). The elevators are simply not enough to handle the weekend crowd. The breakfast service is fantastic yet also over crowded and too busy for the number of people. This is NOT a place for a relaxing quiet and low key vacation. The customer service is superb and the location could not be better or more convenient to transportation and other island activities. Hotel restaurants and surrounding eateries are tremendously over priced but probably to be expected. If you don't like screaming small children running around, don't book this hotel.
