Lift , WiFi was not working during our last period of stay People works in shift at receptions and everyone are not customer friendly. Infact some are so worst Unbearable bad odour, coming from the opposite of the room where we stayed Water was leaking from the bottom of the commode in bathroom in the last week of stay
We were shocked to arrive late for check in ( around midnight) and found doors locked and a note saying there was no vacancy, ring the doorbell to be let in! We rang doorbell and the laundry lady let us in! Thankfully we had a reservation and she managed to check us in and give us keys. We opened the door to the nonsmoking room and a stale smoke mixed with trash and old men cologne hit our faces. Since they had no other rooms and since we were so dead tired, we went to bed. But the next day we were able to see how dirty the room was! Dirty sticky floors, trash in the drawers and cabinets and under sinks, dirty sticky stove, microwave and terrible AV; loud and smelly. We cleanead our own floors and sinks and countertops and showed the manager how dirty the place was ( see picturez) by asking him to replace the dirty towels we used to wipe the place. We also found a big stain with biological material and a dead insect on top of mattress. It was too late to tell if the bedsheets were clean! We already slept on them. Although the manager had the place cleaned and carpet shampooed, he could not replace the mattress but gave us a mattress pac! The place still smelled smoky and dirty and stale even after the cleaning because of the AC filter. Outside, the air was filled with stale trash smell. I told the receptionist about it and she said that it will be taken care of when maintenance arrives bm. That it got smelly because of weekend! So basically they have no staff overnight, no cleaning or maintenance and they only clean rooms after 7 days of lodging. Our room was not even cleaned initially. This hotel was recommended and paid for by our client and we made sure to tell them how terrible it was. Breakfast was limited to muffins, cereal bars and Coffee, tea, instant oatmeal. No juice, fruit etc Place was noisy at night and weird people gathered there to smoke and pace the side walks up and down. We did not feel safe or sanitary. The toiletries were available just upon demand and tjey only had shampoo and soap.
Felt comfortable throughout the stay which gives the great feel. Easy accessible to the markets and hotels. Even we can cook our own food with the facility provided by them. Awesome days to remember and will book again to get the same feel.
- Housekeeping staff doesn't come and clean room on their own - bathroom design is very bad, lacks bath tub and overhead shower. - Not much choices for breakfast food. Looks like they expect the guests to eat the same thing daily even for longer stay
The good: Walkable to a cool Asian marketplace with lots of restaurants. Very close to Cisco buildings. The bad: Depressing, dim interiors. Cheaply built, somewhat run-down. The faucet barely extends over the sink. Every time I washed my hands, water splashed onto the counter around the faucet base. I only went there because the trip was scheduled with little warning. It would be about my 5 choice normally.
Free WIFI / Parking / Breakfast. Just 10min walking distance, there are restaurant / market, very convenient. Some restaurant provide very good Chinese food for breakfast, lunch and also supper. this is truly convenient.
Hotel is basically a no frills, longer term stay type place. Except the place is run down, carpets are due for a change and not many amenities except soap and shampoo. BYO, is the word here. Honestly, with a makeover and a bit of freshening up in amenities, places like this has a lot to offer. But for the price of one night ( north of $200), I will give it a pass unless absolutely necessary.
Suddenly planned trip to San jose, only this hotel had rooms available near the office I wanted to go. It was $143+taxes per day for the Deluxe Room. From the reviews I read from net, my expectations were low. It was corporate booking at corporate rate apparently. It was planned for 5 nights. I reached this place around 8.30 AM on a Sunday morning. I had to wait in their common visitors area for around 30 mins to get the room. Yeap, it was an early check-in. Receptionist was helpful and managed to get a room cleaned as soon as possible once the housekeeping people were in. Now comes to rooms : Room : Room was clean and spacious enough. It had a kitchen area with Induction cook spaces and microwave. But no kitchen utensils! - But I think you get that from the Reception area if needed (not sure though). I am not a cooking person :). Bathroom was spacious enough with a bathtub. Basic stuff like bath soap, shampoo & hair drier are provided. The bath tub water blocker was broken needed repair & one table lamp was not working. Service : Weekly room service only. You wont get room service if you are staying there for less than a week. So of course I was not eligible for room service. But if you need towels or other stuff you can just go and ask in the reception. I wanted an early check-in by cutting short the stay there by a day. I didn't face any problem they accepted the early check-in & returned the one days rent back to my credit card (5 days charge was taken in advance). It went smooth. Complimentary breakfast : Its grab & go breakfast. Some packed oats (you can have with hot water - healthy though :) ), sweetened buns (danish pastry kind), oats bars & coffee/tea options. Internet - Yes. free wifi available. Not high speed though but enough for basic stuffs. Swimming pool - Not available See the pics I have attached - to get an idea on how deluxe room looks like. laundry service : self operated coin-washing machines available. Suggestions : - So this will be good for pure vegetarian(from India) people who like to cook there during extended stays - Good locations, proximity to San jose office - A chines market & restaurants are at walkable distance Final verdict : I didn't find this place & service as bad as mentioned in other reviews. $143 + taxes doesn't look that cheap for me but yeah budget option compared to other hotels nearby. I think they have shortage of house keeping people and rooms need a little more maintenance. So I will rate this average & recommend for people who are budget conscious, long stays, people who wants to cook for themselves during their stay.
The staff working here are very helpful and friendly. The location is close to China town. A lot of Chinese restaurants and stores are within walking distance. It is equipped with a kitchen so you can do some cooking there. In general, It is worth the price.
Woke me up after was called by front desk after midnight then hung up, then without warning the mgr. shows up at my door knocking after midnight demanding I open the door without identifying herself. They claim they weren't sure if I was a registered guest at the hotel. Unreal. A dump. When I complained to their HQ (call center is in Guatemala) I was told a regional mgr would be calling me. They never did. No extra lock on door either. I would never stay here again. The worse experience in my 34 years of business travel in Silicon Valley.
