This was an unexpected delight! Fairfield Place was a great B&B to stay at. The house is very eclectic, historic, and unique. Jon was a gracious host and served us an amazing breakfast! Best we have ever had at a bed and breakfast. Our room was enjoyable and the bed was very comfortable. I definitely recommend staying at Fairfield Place if you are anywhere near the Shreveport/Bossier area.
Fairfield Place and Fairfield Manor are sister properties that face each other across Fairfield Street. The rooms are magnificently decorated with furnishings that make you feel like you've stepped back into time. John provides an endless supply of coffees, snacks, and kindness unlike any my wife and I have ever experienced. In a city where travel sites feature casino hotels, Fairfield Place stands out as a tribute to everything that makes travel special. The rooms are quiet, your sleep will be restful, and you will agree with us that this stay was the best we've ever enjoyed anywhere.
This beautiful piece of history is WAY more than I imagined it would be. The breakfast was delicious! The service was superior! John is so warm and welcoming. We felt instantly welcome and at home. The Fairfield is so many things..romantic, beautiful, eclectic, and to my surprise, a spiritual experience. I decided to unwind/meditate on the veranda with a glass of wine. I looked up and saw a little girl in a nightgown standing there. We just looked at each other for a little bit and then she was gone. I finished my wine and went to bed. The next morning at breakfast I asked John and there has ever been any spiritual activity reported here? He proceeded to tell me about a little girl in a nightgown that is been seen. It's always nice to know I'm not crazy. Lol! If you are looking for a romantic get away, or maybe, if you're lucky, a little bit of unexpected spiritual company, the Fairfield B&B is where it's at. I can not wait to go back! John, thank you for sharing a moment of your life with us. We absolutely loved every single minute of our time there.
Lovely and quiet stay. The breakfasts were wonderful, imaginative and unique, prepared by the owner chef. You will love the decor and appreciate the art and contents of this lovely historic home in the elegant old section of Shreveport
If you are looking for a Breakfast that is over the top you have to try this all types of great southern food for the area traditional foods. The atmosphere at this place is great the presentation of the food and service here is over the top in my mind this a 5 star place.
We were sincerely welcomed. The breakfast was hot and good. The decorating was chock-full. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom was nice. Took a while to get hot water and then it was hot and abundant. It was quiet. Be aware the reservations can not be canceled within 60 days. Had some confusion at check in as our room had been used, but we were given another large clean room.
Visiting friends. Will never stay here again. How this place has 5 Stars I do NOT know. Owner yelling at staff members. Unbelievable. Awful cursing. I started to confront him, but you can’t reason with people like this. Place looks like a flea market or garage sale. Breakfast the only positive, but I would rather McDonald’s and not have to hear the awful yelling I heard. I wish I could afford to pay the workers their monthly salary so they could quit this job. I rarely leave critical reviews, but this place doesn’t deserve more than one star.
We had three rooms in this amazing place and each one was beautiful and comfortable in its own way. Everywhere you look there is beautiful art work, lovely antique furniture, and the Mardi Gras decorations made it like a party! There are delicious and lovely coffee, candy and treats for you throughout the day.But John and his staff are really the highlight. He is an incredible chef so the breakfasts are some of the best and most bountiful that we have ever experienced. He was so thoughtful and attentive to our special dietary needs as well - really going out of the way to make things perfect. We enjoyed our conversations with him a great deal and found out a lot about the area. And having the house as a place to gather for conversation was wonderful. Next time we'll go when the weather is fine but no matter what the temperature you will get a warm reception at this fine establishment!
Fantastic weekend spent with family. The rooms were great and full of character. We were never without the entire time we spent at this lovely bed and breakfast! John was a fantastic host! We will be back!💜
My husband and I recently spent a night at this charming B and B. It oozes with personality, with lovely and interesting decor, abundant treats of snacks and drinks (including wine) and the best breakfast of my life (and I've had breakfast at Brennan's!). John and his staff were friendly and helpful at every stage including when I mindlessly left something there. I could not have asked for better service or a more fun place to stay. We travel between the KC area and Baton Rouge fairly often and now so happy to find an interesting, pleasant place to stay. Going through Shreveport is not necessarily the best route for us, but I am thinking we will go that route from now on just for the pleasure of being treated to a stay here. Considering the surroundings and beautiful breakfast included, its pricing is more than fair.
