Everything was great. It was a key location to everything. This place is amazing private, clean, relaxing, quiet. The beds and couches were comfortable too. Thanks to Patricia! I will definitely return soon. Great experience
I've been there for a couple of nights while moving to a new home. A friend of mine suggested this place and he was right: this is a nice and quiet place like very few, where you can spend your time as if you were in your house. Large common spaces for reading and for sharing your experience with other guests and with Patricia, the owner, who was so nice like she were an old friend. My room was clean, large and well decorated. The breakfast also very good, rich and tasty. I can recommend to my self to go to Casa Isabella again and to anybody who loves the personalized service and the family atmosphere.

We were able to get with very little notice. Carlos speaks perfect English, he is super helpful and friendly. The house is very clean , airy and cool. Our room was spacious and comfortable with large bathroom. We felt very welcomed at this house. Breakfast was eggs and fruit and some bread with juice and coffee. Delicious! Will definitely return.
For our honeymoon we decided to backpack through Costa Rica. We flew into San Jose, and after reading reviews we decided upon Casa Isabella as our start point. We came in earlier than check-in so our room wasn't ready but Roberto, the owner, let us relax in the lobby until the time of our check-in. Roberto was the most accommodating and nicest host. The room was beautiful and peaceful. Taxis are fairly cheap which was nice because Costa Rica has no addresses so it would be hard to drive ourselves. Overall great place and would come here again!
Our 2 week stay at the Casa Isabella in Escazu, CR in March 2015, was wonderful. We stayed in room 2, the junior suite. Everything was nice and clean and the room had ample space. The bed was super comfy and the shower was awesome too but one of the best parts of any B&B or hotel is the staff and how they treat you. Roberto was great! He was always friendly and smiling and went the extra mile to help us with everything we needed help with. That's really important, especially in another Country. He even let us use his computer to make an important call to the U.S.. We traveled to different parts of CR from the Carribean side to the Mountain side, but coming back to the Casa Isabella felt just like home. The breakfast was good and the lady serving it was friendly too. We will definitely stay here again when we come back to Escazu. Costa Rica is beautiful. Our only complaint is not booking our visit to Costa Rica for a longer time 😁 S. Morales Philadelphia, PA US
Casa Isabella is a beautiful house in one of the nice neighborhood close to San Jose. We stayed in the junior suite and it was very comfortable. Our daughter stayed in the room next door and that room was very nice too. Breakfast was excellent and the manager friendly and helpful. The only issue is finding the place! Why don't they provide the address? Google maps can find it but other GPS systems, like the one we were using, can't.
It was a pleasure to stay here. I spent 4 days at Casa Isabella at the start of my visit and one more at the end of my 2 weeks stay in Costa Rica. Only a 20 minute ride to the airport, it is perfectly located for day trips to the mountains or beaches, and a short cab ride to down town San Jose. The house and and its well-kept front space are beautiful. Off street secure parking is available for 2 (maybe 3) cars. It is friendly and quiet with only 5 or 6 large rooms. The rooms are spacious, very clean, great views, and the beds are firm and comfortable, and it is very well taken care of. One of the best showers I ever found in Costa Rica. Wi-Fi is excellent. The breakfast is served by Karen in a beautiful dining room and it was always delicious. Roberto was especially congenial and informative. He was a great help in finding me other hotels in Manuel Antonio, and recommended some fun dining spots close by in Escazu and Santa Ana. I had family stop by for short visits and he was very gracious. I would certainly stay there again.
First of all let me just say that my room was huge, and beautiful, and had no creepy crawlers which is a big deal considering I had been sharing my former bed and breakfast in another part of Costa Rica with a gecko and a monstrous mosquito. I spent most of my vacation in the Carribean part of CR and was staying at Casa Isabella on the last night of my vacation so that I could catch an early flight back home. So I get there, and ring the bell and there is no one answering! Luckily a doorman across the street saw me and kind of yelled for someone to let me in. I get into my room and I see I have no bath :( I was never told I was getting a room with a handicapped shower. This was not a huge deal because the shower was AMAZING, but after a 4 hour unconditioned bus ride, a hot bath would have been nice. Here is my real issue, one of the main reasons I stay at B&Bs is so that I can pick the B&B owners head for wear to eat and what to do around the area. Apparently when I was staying there (at the end of November) the manager was not there and left his nephew in charge who was ...less than helpful. I get there, starving, and I'm like ...so what's good to eat around here (bc there were really no restaurants that I could see). He goes Ummmm I don't know. What is there to do around here... Nephew: Not sure. Me: alright. I consult trip advisor to see what to do in Escazu and find out about a shopping center. Great, so I go there , and eat and I come back seeing if I can arrange for them to leave me some food for the next morning. I wasn't expecting a hot meal as my taxi was picking me up at about 5:30 am but I was hoping for a granola bar or some fruit or SOMETHING. I had to practically BEG them to give me something for the next morning. This is a bed and BREAKFAST after all soooo if I knew I was getting no breakfast I would stay elsewhere. It was also a bummer that you had to pay for little snacks that are left in your room. Maybe I've been spoiled at other B&Bs but that stuff is usually free from what I've experienced. One thing I did like was they had quite of bit of reading material which is always a plus. My advice for management is to make sure that whoever you leave in charge in your absence is up to the challenge and to make sure that you FEED your guests! I would stay here again if it was a one night thing where I needed to catch an afternoon flight (i.e. would leave late enough to enjoy breakfast.)
This a a charming Bed and Breakfast place. It deserves it rating. This is a quaint little place in Escazu. The place is quiet and relaxing, and with just 5 rooms, you would feel like you have the place to yourself. I stayed in room 5 and it is a big room with two Beds. Roberto was very accommodating. I definitely recommend this place for a peaceful and quiet weekend.
