The Stone Villa Inn staff were all very polite and friendly. The room was clean and quite. The Motel was walking distance to a lot of different restaurants, and the area seem very safe, I was not at all worried about walking around in the area.
Had a great four night stay. Newly remodeled quiet location even though right on the street, the rooms are off the strip. There are not any king beds but the queen was adequate. Bathrooms small and no space to put anything. Also wish there was a corner shelf or SOMETHING in the shower to put stuff. There was a little soap shelf but everything else had to b be put on the floor.
HQ for a family visit. Lived in the general area for 20 years and did not know it was there. Set back from El Camilo entrance. It met the need of a place to stay each evening.
This motel is under renovation (6/2016) but it's becoming a charming little place. It was comfortable enough for a one night stay to get some rest, which all I needed from it. There are some quirks to the bathroom, things aren't perfect, but it was good enough, especially for the price.
Walk in the room and had to squeeze to get to bathroom. Turn TV on and no TV. The air conditioner didnt work. Once they fixed the TV and air, I went to relax on a very hard lumpy bed. Bottom line, if you're really tired, you might check this one out but if you can wait, go to the next motel.
Very disappointed. The staff was confused and not helpful. They could really use some training in customer service.
If you are traveling with friends and you are very easy going you can definitely use this location for one night instead of the expensive San Francisco. I don't recommend this place to couples or if you are looking for a very comfortable room. The walls are very thin, the room and the restroom were very small. The continental breakfast, as in other hotels, doesn't offer too much but it's enough.
It doesn't seem you can find another hotel for around $175 in the San Mateo area but if you can do so. These rooms where not cleaned to normal standards, internet was poor, however the staff was really nice. The HJ across the street was a better stay.
Hotel and its staff were friendly. Will come back...
Pay a little more and stay at the Best Western not far from here. Don't be fooled by the pictures
I booked this hotel because it was cheap and I was only in the area for one night. I read the reviews, and I believe for the most part, that people exaggerate a little however, most of the reviews on this place are completely accurate and I was surprised when I had the same experiences as some of the other reviewers. As mentioned by others, the bed frame and bed do not line up, so I hit my leg on it which was not pleasant. My room had no remote control for the TV, which was annoying since I arrived at the hotel sooner that I expected. When I went looking for a remote, I found Q-tips in the drawers (not sure if used or not). The rooms are very run down. It looks as if the place was old, the staff renovated it, and then it has become destroyed by the use of people staying there over time. My room in particular seemed like it had not been slept in/cleaned in a while, because there was a fine layer of dust on the furniture. The stay was friendly and it seems as if it is a family owned/ran inn.
manage your expectations so you will not be disappointed.
Clean Rooms Lots of Restaurants around. All within waking distance
We were looking for a reasonably priced, clean place, close to the airport for a one night stay. This place fit the bill. It's a motel, 10 minutes to airport (no airport shuttle), free parking, clean with basic amenities provided. The stay included breakfast which we did not partake of. Helpful desk staff, helped us print out our boarding passes for next day travel. Good value for money.
Quiet, convenient....wish they would extend weekend breakfast hours.
The room was super clean but very blah and had the absolute bare minimum of necessities. Breakfast was also the bare minimum and I think the coffee was instant coffee. Yikes. Fortunately, the noisy location quieted down at night and it was very peaceful. For the money, I think it was OK.
Over priced. The place is ok. Paid to stay here one night for emergency reasons I arrived at around 9:30pm so I went straight to sleep. At around 12:00am I got a phone call from the manager demanding to know how many people were in the room because he got complaints from several other rooms about "noise" he even told me to turn the tv off. The tv was never on to begin with lol. Talk about rude.
Close enough to San Francisco/Silicon Valley area.
When I was checking in, they wanted to charge me. They had to call to confirm despite my printed confirmation that I showed them. The free breakfast is supposed to be from 7 to 9 am, but at times, it does not open by 7 because the staff/owner is still sleeping. Cleaners would clean the room, but forget to replace the dirty towels.
Check in at 5pm but room was not ready. I was a little annoyed and had asked if they had another room. He just told me to wait and yet others checked in with other available rooms. I believe they were under staff. Room was decent. Continental Breakfast was okay not much to choose from.
