Wonderful and friendly staff. The Vessel restaurant was amazing. Sitting by the fire pits along the beach and chatting with other resort goers was great.
Overall, great place to stay, great location and great staff. Some areas of improvement, and why I gave it 3 stars: 1. Children, although in the family pool area, should not be in the hot tub. Lots of kids eating in the hot tub, dropping food, and washing the cups they were eating out of. Kids don't know hot tub etiquette, and parents are not teaching this. Most places don't allow the kids in the hot tub area due to health reasons. 2. Our room was nice, but the 12 foot window only has 4 feet of black out curtains. This wasn't much of an issue until the yacht in the marina turned on their evening lights and it illuminated our room. Also, we wanted to sleep in, but rose with the sun. The hotel staff was surprised about this. Other rooms did have fully drawn black out curtains, from what we saw. Just not our room.
We enjoyed our stay at Kona Kai resort. Quite area and very nice views of the bay. Loved the courtyard with seating options and games. Loved the patio/balcony and easy access to the courtyard. Rooms are renovated and comfortable. Pool was nice but small. Good service at the pool. My room didn't have privacy curtain. At $45 a night we felt parking was very expensive.
friendly staff and perfect place for family
Absolutely perfect in every way! This is the way hospitality should be done. A lovely place with professional staff and perfect amenities. They even upgraded us since we're here for charity work.
Relaxing & enjoyable pools and restaurant/bar areas. Suite/Jr Suite way overpriced for the actual “normal” value rcvd, nothing special, my biggest disappointment.
Beautiful grounds! Everything was sparkling clean. I felt like i wasnt even in SD!
The office help was so nice
Too many resort fees. I wish they would just include in the initial price we see. But we love kona Kai and don’t stay anywhere else.
It was good, I didn’t like how they charged your card without telling you for certain things though
Really enjoyed the location and being able to see all the boats out in the bay. Super peaceful and relaxing. Room was spotless and other than the very first night, super quiet
