Great Retro Getaway in Ocean Beach

We had an amazing stay at this unique, retro-style house in Ocean Beach! The house was full of character and charm, and the backyard was beautiful. We spent a lot of time enjoying the outdoor space, especially the hot tub, which was a great touch. It’s also in an ideal location—just a short walk to both downtown Ocean Beach and the beach itself, making it super convenient for everything we wanted to do.The only thing worth noting is that the planes flying overhead can get a bit loud, starting around 6 am. However, it didn’t bother us enough to affect our stay, and everything else about the house made it well worth it. Would definitely recommend, and we’ll definitely be back!

Property was true to its description and photos. Host was very communicative and prompt with responses. Hot tub was clean and functioned great. Third bedroom is accessible only from the outside, so it's great for someone who wants a little extra privacy. Location is very convenient to shops/restaurants on Newport Avenue and the beach.Property has tons of personaility and the right amount of quirk. Its unpretentious nature matches the Ocean Beach vibe perfectly.

OB Vacation

Good location, close enough to walk to the beach. Parking can be pain if your vehicle doesn’t fit in the garage. Kids loved the hot tub.

Relaxed Stay

The home was just as pictured! It had comfortable beds, blankets, and a cozy couch. We appreciated that there was plenty of space for us all to do our own things and all of the amenities that you could need. The location cannot be beat, so close to all of the restaurants! I would stay here again, and recommend it for sure!

Location location location

So did I mention the location of this house is fantastic! Literally in the heart of OB! It was very clean and had almost all of the Amenities of home. The hot tub plus the 4th bedroom / living room areas also a plus. There is only a projector in the 4th bedroom/living area. This was a little bit of bummer for my children and a bit for us as well as we all fall asleep to TV most nights. Also without any noise in the house the 747’s flying overhead can be a bit loud. This older homes vibes were great though. I would book it again! ☮️❤️🙂

Beautiful Ocean Beach Property

Wonderful place with retro vibes and gorgeous MCM furniture. The spa did not function for our trip, but our host Evan was very responsive and did everything he could to make it right. Would stay again.

The cutest retro home!

The house is super cute and it’s also in a perfect area! We were able to walk to the cliffs from the house and it was a quick drive to Gaslamp. The host was super responsive and it was a super easy to get in and out of the house. I would def recommend staying here.

We really enjoyed this spacious, well supplied home. Great outdoor spaces--upstairs deck with a view of the fireworks from SeaWorld every night! The lower patio and hot tub area is large with the right amount of sun and shade. The beach and downtown OB are a short walk. Be aware that the second bathroom is not part of the main house, only accessible from an outside entrance on the patio level.

Cute and quirky- pretty spacious! The 3 blocks to the beach is PERFECT because OB does have a bit of riffraff/transient population. Inside was a bit weathered/ probably need some new paint splashed about but the retro feel was calming and fun! Cleaning crew left big globs of hair and empty cigarette packs on the bookcases which didn’t give me great vibes about the thoroughness of their other cleaning. Some black mold build up around the shower ceiling and shower door. Consistent with a “beach house” but needs a solid cleaning. One suggestion would be more towels please! Only 6 towels for 4 people/5 days and no washer/dryer. We accidentally left some milk, waters and fudge in the fridge - so sorry about that! Remembered while boarding the plane.

Reunite in Ocean Beach

Charming property with great access to the beach and local attractions. Food, cafes, and shops are all a short walk away. The GOOD: very comfortable beds, cool furniture. Great patio space and basement TV room perfect for entertaining the kids while the adults hung out. Surf boards and boogie boards available. Garage and off street parking convenience. The BAD: neighborhood is on departure for the airport with planes overhead every couple of minutes, not an issue indoors , but disruptive while enjoying the outdoor space. Previous guest had left the jacuzzi and mess with sand and oily residue making it unusable until it could be drained and cleaned as we were checking out (cleaner was unavailable during stay). Overall, I would readily stay here again, but would encourage the caregiver to follow up on maintenance (dishwasher, bathroom window, fixture in shower, shade downstairs and dead/dying plants throughout).

Lovely beach-town home

Enjoyed this spacious home for our family spring break trip. 10 min walk to the beach and a variety of eateries. Nice hot tub for relaxation. Wish there was a remote for the garage. No street parking was ever available.
