Enjoying an amazing 7 nights here with my two kids ages 5 & 7. Pools amazing, suite is spacious and clean, service and kids club top notch. Everyone has been so helpful and kind. Highly recommend!!!!!
Absolutely magnificent hotel!! The customer service is TOP NOTCH! The grounds are stunning, rooms are spacious with beautiful views and the location can't be beat. It's a little slice of Heaven on earth!
This is truly one of the most remarkable resorts I've ever frequented. From the incredible service and friendliness of the staff to the most exquisite beauty of the hotel and its surroundings it's hard not to fall in love with this hotel. There isn't anything you can't get here. High tea in the library? Check. Amazingly luxurious beds and bedding? Check. A burger with bacon and cheese at 3 am and brought to your room? Check. They even offered to bring me an extra fridge since I brought large bottles of water which I couldn't fit into the mini bar. I neglected to bring my sun tan lotion. No problem, they brought me a bottle to my poolside chair. Let's face it, this is what it must be like to be a member of the Royal Family. I absolutely love this resort and can't wait for my next visit.
The stay was incredibly enjoyable, and the staff went above and beyond to make it memorable. The service was the best I've experienced at a Fairmont property, and I've stayed a quite a few. The resort itself is beautiful, and I enjoyed staying outside the hectic city. Grand Del Mar is like a private oasis, complete with fine dining, multiple beautiful pools, golf course, nightclub and hiking trails. I wasn't sure what to expect when I arrived, but my experience was so enjoyable that I changed my fall trip plans to return to the Grand Del Mar. It is an excellent choice not only for families but couples as well. I would highly recommend the property.
This may be the most beautiful hotel in the US. No detail is left out in this Mediterranean style Villa. The lobby is gorgeous with marble and beautiful chandeliers. The grounds are flawless and filled with flowers. There is pool for children and a luxurious pool and jacquizzi for adults only. I am a President's club member and was upgraded to a beautiful room with a balcony overlooking the pool. The bed was dreamy, the bathroom huge and beautiful and I had a little couch and divan. The check in is extremely courteous but you have to wait because of that which annoyed me. All the restaurants, bar areas have painfully slow service. The Amaya was so so but reasonable for this caliber of a hotel. The Addison wasn't open when I was there. The pool service was slow but they put these little towel covers over the chaise and there is shade if you want it. The pool is great for laps. We liked the clubhouse restaurant everything was tasty and the churro and ice cream desert was sensational. My only complaint about the property was that there were cigar smokers on the terrace which is awful. When I checked out I mentioned it and the receptionist said it's not allowed and when people buy cigars they are told to go to the smoking area. My question is why didn't the bartender or waitress tell them that or ask management to attend to that? It made the most beautiful part of the hotel disgusting. I think the only people who like the smell of cigars are cigar smokers. So my stay was outstanding but I'm giving a four instead of five for the cigars and slow service in the restaurant and bar.
First class, from arrival to departure. Played The Grand golf course, perfect in all aspects. Travel extensively, my first review, this property will not disappoint! Rooms, restaurants, golf and customer service are simple fantastic! Trust me, do yourself a favor, go relax and enjoy this property. Cheers!
Over the top design and architectural features, large comfortable room, impeccable service. A truly amazing property that could be anywhere in Italy. Spa was tranquil and amazing. Can't wait to return. Only downside is there is little to do in area. So plan on staying on premises and you won't be disappointed.
Everything about the resort is top notch! Restaurants and service throughout the property were excellent. When visiting San Diego make it a place to stay. Enjoyable for the whole family with pools and golf.
The rooms a extremely nice. I would give this place a 10 but cannot only because the cost of the food. I had a rib eye steak that was small, thin, tasteless and cost $37 with nothing with it. Everything is al-la-carte. For a sad steak, brussel sprouts (burnt), and an ice tea was over $50.00 then you add tip. If I wasn't so hungry I would have gotten up from the table and drove to town for a decent meal at half the price. It was so expensive that I can not turn in the receipt as a business expense. Otherwise my experience was wonderful.
Lucky to spend 6 days, 5 nights at this gorgeous resort. Beautiful setting, the hotel is stunning. The drive up is lovely, doormen were very welcoming. Check in was acceptable, not overly welcoming nor accommodating. We had booked a King room, were told only a room with 2 Queen beds was available. No apology, no attempt to correct this situation. Arrived in our room, shocked and disappointed. Called to speak with the manager, Josh, he understood completely, called back within 5 minutes to advise our new accommodations were ready, a Signature Terrace King room with direct access to the Relaxation pool (fabulous upgrade!). Josh is outstanding. The rooms are very luxurious & spacious. The housekeeping staff are excellent, as are the pool attendants. The poolside service is incredible. The drivers of the complimentary shuttles are very friendly and respectful, especially Jeff. Concierge team was also terrific. The service in the Lobby bar and the Clubhouse Grill was rather slow and inconsistent. Expected more at a 5 star resort. The food was delicious. Love the resort, will definitely return, it is serene and beautiful.
