Chambless Riviera Villa: Bay Views, Balcony, Parking & Bikes!

Below you will find details about our 1 bed/ 1 bath home, Chambless Riviera Villa in Pacific Beach.

This lovely condo features a breathtaking 180 degree unobstructed, panoramic view of beautiful Sail Bay! The almost floor to ceiling, wall to wall windows and sliding glass door in the living room lead out to the balcony, with a table and chairs for enjoying the view. Unwind in front of the gas fireplace after a day of exploring San Diego. The bedroom has a king size bed and the living room has a queen Murphy bed. The kitchen with granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, cherrywood cabinets, and travertine tile, has everything you need for dining in. The bathroom has a tub/shower combination with double vanity sinks. There is a coin operated laundry room about 30 feet down the hall.

The Riviera Villas are situated on the quieter East side of beautiful Sail Bay (the loveliest part of Mission Bay)! You will have a magnificent view of the sunsets with the activities of the bay in the foreground; kite-boarders, sailboats, water skiers, catamarans, etc. Yet, you are only 12 minutes from San Diego's bustling downtown historic Gaslamp area with its fine dining, 1.5 miles from SeaWorld, and within 15 minutes from the lovely Balboa Park with the famous San Diego Zoo. So, you can have it all!

Enjoy your coffee on your private balcony as you watch the boardwalk come alive. Right below, people are on the boardwalk riding bikes, skating, jogging, and just strolling at leisure. Take a stroll or ride our two provided beach cruiser bikes around the bay and if you like, cross over to Mission Beach with its wide boardwalk to watch the surfers or catch a glimpse of the green flash at sunset.

Professional photos are expensive and we can not re-photograph the rental every time something is changed but we do maintain the listing content with any notable furnishing changes especially related to sleeping arrangements. THERE IS NO POOL OR HOT TUB AT THIS PROPERTY!

Arrival/Departure Policy:
Check in time is 3 pm and strictly enforced. (From Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day, check-in is at 4pm)
Check out time is 11 am.
Please follow all instructions for your arrival and departure in our email and phone call correspondence. There is signage around the home to assist with the use of amenities and questions that you may have during your stay. We are available too, even after hours-give us a call!

Nightly Minimum Policy:
4 night minimum required in the off season. 
6 nights AND a Saturday Check-in is REQUIRED during peak season (June - August). Arrival on Friday or Sunday instead may be an option.
(Please inquire if your group needs accommodations that are different as we may be able to accommodate you!)

☀️ Holiday 2025 Policy: 
6 night minimum AND Saturday check-in is REQUIRED during our holiday season (December 20-January 3). One reservation CANNOT take both holidays, unless it is a 2-week reservation. There are no arrivals OR departures on Christmas or New Year's Day. 
*An arrival on a Friday or Sunday may be possible, please inquire if your group needs accommodations that are different as we may be able to accommodate you!  

☀️ Summer 2025 Policy: 
Beginning Memorial Day to Labor Day, Saturday to Saturday is required with 6-7 night reservations. On July 4th 2025, check-in or check-out is NOT permitted. An arrival on a Friday or Sunday may be possible, please inquire if your group needs accommodations that are different as we may be able to accommodate you.

Last Minute Booking Policy:
If a guest books with us directly or on any OTA such as Airbnb and VRBO, within 72 hours of arrival, verification credentials are required. By making a payment on the reservation, the guest agrees to comply with our last minute booking policy. 

To properly vet a guest with such short notice requires the following; a “selfie” photo specifically of the booking guest’s face and holding either a Driver’s License, Passport or State ID photo under their chin. We are just looking for a name to match and the photo on the ID to match that of the person in the selfie. This can be sent by email or text to our company email address. Additionally, we need to confirm guest details such as payment, contact information, applicable check-in time, number of guests and ages, any pets, etc.

This process is required, and if a guest refuses to comply then the reservation will be canceled. We have found this procedure to be successful in avoiding fraud, and protecting all parties! We appreciate your cooperation and we are available to help with any questions.

🐾 Pet Policy: Pets are NOT permitted at this property. Guests who bring a pet that is not a service animal will be fined by the HOA.

Rate Policy: Prices change on a daily basis so the rates you see today may be higher or lower when booking!

Age Policy: We do not typically rent to guests under the age of 25 or large parties. Please contact us prior to booking to see how we may accommodate your group.

After booking:
We manage properties on behalf of our owners. Upon confirming your booking, we will send you a rental agreement for your upcoming stay which you will need to complete. We loved our stay! We chose this location based on the proximity of our son and his family! But, the perfect location was just one piece of how perfect our time was! This listing is done through a 3rd party, property management company. Since it is rented via by a 3rd party it made payment and check in a little more of a process. Communication with the "owner" is outsourced and limited to certain hours. We were offered an additional night at a "discount" via auto-text, however when we inquired we were told we would inquire an additional fee for "credit card" charge, add in taxes and it was not much less than 1 regular night's stay fee. I would not recommend staying longer than the reservation time. The coin operated laundry machine dryer took my coins without operating, when I inquired management about it I was told to "listen" for the coin bank to be full or the machines won't run, or to use the app. The app was much simpler to use, it is management's responsiblity to empty the the coin boxes for residents/guests. The bicycles that were avaliable for use had a flat tire, when I inquired about the tire I was told it was repaired and we went to ride, it was flat again. The view was beautiful, the bed was comfortable, the Murphy bed was great. The couch bed was not as comfortable. The location was great. Had this been rented directly from VRBO, communication with the owners more direct, not via 3rd party we would consider renting again. However overall the stay was lovely and our family left with a lifetime of memories.

The location is great. And the place itself is very nice. But we had no water for a couple hours yesterday as they had some issue. When it finally came back on, there was no hot water. We were meeting someone for dinner and had been on the beach. So we had to basically take a cold sponge bath yesterday. Then no shower today. No advance warning from anyone. When they finally responded, it was a simple “Sorry for the inconvenience.” We are going back in September and hopefully, we will have better luck.

Fantastic proximity to everything Mission Bay

Beautiful condo, fantastic views of the sunset every night, great accommodations. we didn’t need a car for this trip, took the bikes to OB, PB and the board walk. Great proximity to everything. Walked to Trader Joe’s and Sprouts, PB for food. Absolutely lovely trip.

Sail Bay Christmas

The unit was well decorated and clean. The location and view are great. Here are the areas for improvement. The lighting in the bedroom was poor; suggest replacing the ceiling fan with one with lights. The unit has no heating. I could not find a thermostat. We used a radient heater from the closet and the fireplace for heat. The patio light is out. The maintenance of the building is substandard and not completely safe. The lights from the beach to the first floor were out. Dryer vents were leaking. .

Independence day

The property was found clean, neat and as advertised. The location was phenomenal. A few things to note: be prepped for crowds. The fourth was crazy. The fireworks went well into the night as did the neighbors karaoke. It was fun for us, but it could be overwhelming if you have young children or a sensory processing disorder. The neighborhood was walkable and we had everything we needed for a girls trip.

Great view over Mission Bay from North side on third floor. Building is a bit shabby but unit is clean, nicely furnished and kept in good shape. Neighbors seem friendly. Parking easy in garage on first level. Overall , good unit with all amenities needed.

38th Anniversary celebration

We were pleased with our accommodations. The staff made sure we were we were well taken care of. It was perfect for us. Clean, spacious and comfortable. We had a fireplace, which we used almost every chilly evening. A beautiful views of the Mission Bay. We would definitely recommend this vacation condos in San Diego.

Beautiful Getaway Location

We loved the property's location on Sail Bay right on the boardwalk! We loved our morning walks and sunsets on the balcony. The property was very clean and in good shape. It had everything my wife and I needed for a week stay, including a jigsaw puzzle and games for a rainy day! The location was close to everything we planned on visiting. The neighborhood was quiet. Would definitely stay again!

Great property with amazing sunset views of the bay. Balcony over beach / walking path was a nice feature, too bad it wasn't a little bigger. Loved the availabulity of the bikes and beach items. All the codes for parking, elevator, entry door, bikes, beach items were a bit overwhelming and the cable tv was trial and error...but with that view, who is there to watch tv anyhow?

Beach Relaxing

Location is fabulous. The apartment can use some updating. Older furniture. Overall the apartment has more than everything you will need for a great vacation. There was a musty odor throughout and on linens. Could use a good cleaning of all linens. With all that said, still enjoyed the week. Easy access to restaurants and venues.
