Stayed four nights in January. This property has significant potential, though some functional issues impacted my stay. On the positive side, the location is terrific and very walkable. The recent renovations show well; the kitchen is huge and well-equipped, the bathroom is modern, and the living area is spacious and well-laid-out. These rooms were exceptionally comfortable and aesthetically pleasing.On the negative side, the geothermal floor heat made the apartment uncomfortably hot, requiring all windows and the balcony door to be open at night. As this is a ground-floor unit with large street-facing windows, sleeping with them open felt like a security risk. While NZ is safe and a police station is nearby, I’d strongly suggest the owners install the security covers seen on other units. Additionally, the master mattress is extremely firm—likely the hardest I’ve encountered in a rental.If the cooling and window security were addressed, this would easily be a 4/5 stay; with a more forgiving mattress, it’s a 5/5. For now, the trade-off between comfort and security means I wouldn't choose to stay here again.
