Nice spa and small kitchen always nice to have on a holiday. We enjoyed our stay but though only 23C Rotorua is very humid and felt much hotter. My advice to fellow Trippers, is not to stay during summer months anywhere in the North of New Zealand without an aircon. The configuration was good and very roomy too but nothing outstanding - though we loved the spa area.

I asked about a million questions and they did their utmost to answer every one, including ringing the lakeside cafe they'd recommended to check it was open (it wasn't). Lovely to have not just a bath but a SPA bath!

The motel is very convenient in town. The room was very clean, we enjoyed the spa tub. The owners told us about the redwood forest and we enjoyed a nice walk. We were able to walk around town from the motel.

This is a wonderful motel. The room is fairly spacious and the bathroom is very large. The amenities in the bathroom are wonderful, including the pumice stone! Wonderful shower. There is a large spa tub which we didn't use but looks nice....very big! The whole unit is updated beautifully. My only complaint is the bed. It is a queen....we prefer king or twins....and it is too hard. It needs another pillow top. My hips were a little sore. Otherwise, a great spot.

In many ways Silver Fern is one of a number of motels and hotels along motel mile in Rotorua. It is well located on Fenton Street by the racecourse about one mile to walk (15 mins into the centre and restaurant area) but especially well located for Te Puia. However, what sets Silver Fern apart is the loving care it is serviced and managed by Paul and Carole, the English management team on site, for whom nothing was too much trouble. Information, bookings - they were there to assist at any time. A motel is a motel but this was well kept, thoroughly clean and well equipped. It offered good value for a two day stop to visit the sites of Rotorua. The washing facilities were particularly useful whilst touring. Ample parking.

You should stay here. It’s a short drive from downtown Rotorua, it’s a short drive to the mountain biking in the Redwood forests, but most of all it’s a really great facility run by people who really care. You might have a monstrously large spa hot tub in your suite! I did. There is a laundry for washing your mountain biking gear, they give you Fresh milk when you check in! This is the best place to stay in Rotorua

Stayed 3 nights . Nice property, good location on Fenton Street which is like the High st , very helpful front desk staff. Cant reccomend enough. Guess the price could have been cheaper but you cant have everything.

When visiting rotorua My partner and I would stay here but we would usually taje the room on the bottom floor with a private spa pool and private carpark around on the side road. Its great when we visit and stay in this room no problems at all everything works well, everythings nice everyones freindly the works ☺.... Unfortunately We did not receive the same service we usually would when we stayed in a 2bedroom unit close to the back by the day spa. My sister-inlaws had come to stay as well we had gathered for a birthday so we could all go out fir a dinner come back and have a good rest, but the whole time we were there we felt as tho we were being watched, or judged. We do look young but that doesn't mean we're not responsible. Everytime we would look out the window or the door they man who sits in reception would be out looking at our unit even when hes showing other guests their rooms he would talk to them but at the same time stare at our door. We did feel a bit creeped out and uncomfortable but overall we felt abit disapointed because after our great visits we convince others that its really great but the service doesnt add up. Sorry wont be reccomending this place anymore.

I don’t give 5 stars often, but I’m rating a motel here and, for a motel, I can’t think of a single negative. The owners were friendly, helpful and have pretty much thought of everything. Our room was huge, with a lovely, large bathroom AND an even larger spa room. We had a well-equipped mini-kitchen, with a welcome coffee pod machine. There was even ice on order!

This is a very nice property run by a lovely couple. Excellent rooms with everything you would require, very clean and comfortable and ours had a very spacious balcony which I certainly enjoyed sitting on, would certainly recommend.
