Happy to come back here every year. Super friendly and helpful staff and great atmosphere. Warm and inviting facilities that suit our needs. Just need to work on the wireless Mic. reliability Already looking forward to next year's stay.
I enjoyed my stay, my room was clean, lovely and quiet. The bed was so comfortable. Would have loved to have got in the spa pool and use the gym facilities but my son was at Mataatua Marae with his league team so got back too late. Was a lovely overnight stay.
We stayed here for 2 nights. We found the room to be adequate but dated. The hotel needs to update the rooms and switch out things like curtains, showers, toilets locks on the doors. But having said that our room was clean, some mold in the shower but that was it. The bar was so- so. The place was packed from the time we checked in (around 6 at night) until early morning when the tour buses pulled out. The place was full of tourists who were loud but fortunately were not up too late and were gone very early in the morning.
We were booked in with Holidays of Australia & after the Cordis in Auckland this was again a major let down. A long way out of town, just about walkable, no free shuttle bus provided, but there is a Millennium version close to the lake. Finding your room was a major achievement even after "directions" from reception. Breakfast was an ordeal, obviously they cater for Chinese package groups which, naturally, have no idea of how to work the toaster, coffee machine etc etc. Our room faced West where the coaches parked, which meant an oven, we closed all the curtains upon exit only to find room service had helpfully left them all open. It should/could have been a 5 star place but obviously neglected in terms of upkeep & staff. What a waste !
Room, 2 Queen beds. A little tight for the room size. Clean (except for dirty patch under rubbish bin in the bathroom). The hotel needs refurbishing, a bit tired, but overall ok for a one night stay. Breakfast staff could be more courteous.
We checked in off the street. Our room was down a corridor with no light so at 4.45 pm we could not see to get the key in our door Went to the bar for a drink and got no response from the barperson except to have a bottle pushed at us with 2 glasses. No ice bucket or delivery to table. We continued to soldier on. Went into dinner. Ordered a main but it turned out we had been given an old menu so could not have what we ordered. After several conversations with about 3 people and some waiting, the chef agreed to cook the meal to what we had read. By then I could not decide what to eat so we decided not to have anything. Went outside to wander down the street and were almost run down by a tourist bus screaming through the reception parking area. Ok I was done so went to reception and asked for a refund. It was duly given. Hence NEVER again
overall good value for the money, but the food could have been better. The dinner was included in the price and I signed for $220 for the 2 of us. we don't think the dinner was up to the value of $220.
all was good ,but they should offer more amenities in room. Room was okay and clean. Beds were done nicely. In our case they forget to put towels in bathroom and went to reception to collect it as phone was not working
I stayed at this hotel as part of a tour package for 2 nights and I have to say it was "standard", nothing special at all. The room itself was okay, but could do with updated and definitely needs air con! There were large windows to open to let in the air, however, other guests had balcony areas (my room did not) and liked to smoke outside, consequently there was a lot of running to the windows so the room did not stink (not great for a non-smoking hotel). Staff were pleasant, but did not go out of their way to do anything much - I was celebrating a birthday whilst staying here (which was noted on their books) but staff did not do anything to make this time feel "special" for me (I have previously stayed in other hotels that really go out of their way for you). The location of the hotel was also on the outskirts of town, with around a 30min walk into the center to Rotoura. Not an ideal location when, like me, you aren't travelling with a car. All in all, a "standard" hotel that really needs refurbishment and air con! Don't think I'd choose to stay again, there are plenty of other hotels which look a lot nicer and are in the center of Rotoura to stay in.
We stayed in the renovated part of the hotel which was lovely. Beds are so perfect we wanted to bring them home with us. Staff were absolutely stellar, they could not have been more helpful, amenities were great, didn’t try the pool but the kids said great things about it, 2 outdoor spas both clean and tidy.....restaurant service and food was on point....I would definitely rebook. I am aware that there is stil renovations to do and accomodation isn’t as great in some areas however again I’d like to reiterating that our rooms on the 4th floor were simply lovely.
