We recently stayed in rotorua on a holiday and we were recommended the buffet at this hotel by management if the motel we were staying at From the moment we arrived we were greeted by Sunil and he explained our options We chose the buffet and although it was after the main sitting of tour buses all options were available and constantly being refreshed The food was great, good selection and well presented Thank you Sunil for making our night memorable you are a credit to the hotel
I can only comment on our meal and the service we recieved on our last night in Rotarua. Although we were not booked into the Copthorne, we decided to have dinner there, being close to our accomodation. Tia and Sunil could not do enough for us, the service was awesome and our meal delicious and very reasonably priced. Would highly recommend as a place to go while in Rotarua!
We stayed here for just one night while we watched our son play league, after a 6 hour drive from home we checked in and went straight to the pool!! It was beautiful, and even though it was raining it was heated so lovely and warm and clean!!! The seating area for 'mum's' watching the kids and dad swim was lovely too!! The spa pools were amazing and a lovely way to unwind after a long trip!!! It rained the whole time we were there but the room was nice and warm, and clean, the bathroom was nice in our room and the bed was too die for, didn't want to get up in the morning!!! The staff We saw were really nice and friendly and check in was easy!! Free parking is a bonus as you have to pay when We stay in Australia so I thought I would mention that!! We went out that night but came back in time for a night swim, which was gorgeous aswel!! We always look for a hotel with a pool and because it was cold we weren't expecting to be able to use it so it was an absolute bonus that this one was heated!!! The pool closes at 10pm at night so we went swimming first then went out and got dinner, the room doesn't have plates but it does have cups for a coffee and wine glasses, that are real glass and done up in plastic to stay clean!! We just got plates from the restaurant in town and ate in our room, would be nice if they have plates and cutlery etc but I guess they try and encourage you to eat at the restaurant which is fair enough!! The bed was lovely, we had 2 doubles for us and our daughter and both were really comfy!! And the shower in the morning was really nice and hot and strong, we had one last swim in the morning in the beautiful pool and really didn't want to leave!! We didn't have breakfast at the hotel but the eating areas looked really nice and clean, next time we will definitely have cocktails by the pool!! We will definitely be back again next time we are in Rotorua and hopefully for longer!!
Got an away to go voucher for my birthday as a present and decided to use it here in Rotorua to get away, extremely disappointed - outdated, dirty and no kitchen facilities! Also with our package was meant to get bubbles and chocolate however was not given. For a voucher you pay $179 a night for a would expect alot more! Won't be back, wouldn't recommend and would defiantly book elsewhere
Found our stay at Copthorne to be very good! For just over $100 per night I found it very good value. Staff were friendly and helpful, rooms well equipped and comfortable. I can remember this hotel being around in the 1970's so given its age it's great. Buffet breaky a little pricey but in saying that it was great with a good selection. Beds comfy, shower a little light on flow but all in all I would recommend for a reasonably priced accommodation close to everything !
We went here for a meal only and found the staff very helpful & friendly with a sense of humour, the food was rather good with plenty available. You had a choice of hot or cold foods and very yummy desserts and all the time favourite pavlova. A nice relaxing evening with family/friends, will more than likely return for a meal at another time.
On arrival no help with luggage offered and non available when requested. Buckets and towels in the corridors to the rooms to catch rain water as it dripped in. Hotel felt cold. Toilet seat in bathroom broken (not repaired until second day). Hairs - not mine, they were long my hair is short - in the bathroom. Carpet were thread bare. Buffet dinner in a cold restaurant, was well below par - hot food was luke warm, by the time you got back to your table it was cold, the lamb was tough as old boots. The same applied to the buffet breakfast - hot food was cold by the time you got back to your table - I wore my jacket after previous night it was so cold. Staff unhelpful when asked about activities for a rainy afternoon. Phone messages were unretrievable according to reception - errr why have a answer phone message service if they cant be retrieved? It's location is not good if you don't have a vehicle - not near any of the shops, restaurants or other amenities you may require as a visitor. As you can see I didn't have a good experience at this hotel and would definitely NOT RECOMEND IT. It's star rating should be reviewed by the local tourist board as matter of urgency
Had a room that was a fair way from the main hotel ammenities . Very dark and dingy part of the hotel our rooms were very basic and outdated. I remember back in the day when I stayed and it was the the Quality Hotel days ,stunning then. Now its just a brocken down old girl. Used the pool and that was filthy with hair and leaves floating around. Hallways had huge water stains and the lack of lighting goin to the rooms. i gues you get what you pay for . Sad wish it was alot better .
Stayed here and quite frankly quite dissatisfied with my stay firstly wasted my time over a faulty safe which eventually led to a room change after 3 people & over an hour of having to wait then their archaic wifi policy, in this modern day I did not expect to have to pay $30 for 3 day pass and I logged in once to view FB and next thing data allegedly used up had to phone Australia to try and rectify problem & then send email a week later I have still had no reply!!!! To be fair at the desk I refused to pay the wifi charge given the circumstances and they did eventually relent and not charge me but I still feel this charge is excessive
Fantastic service. Would recommend to my colleagues and friend's . Great value. Lovely meals. Friendly staff. They are willing to go the extra mile to make your stay memorable. I will definitely stay here again.
